From Abigail Davies comes the ultimate forbidden romance duet. She’d been unexpected.A path I hadn’t thought I’d take. But once she was on my radar, there was no turning back.Being deceptive was part of my job as a DEA agent, but I’d learned how to deceive people a long time before that. I’d been deep undercover for nine months.Nine months away from the self-made family I’d been accepted into.… from the self-made family I’d been accepted into.
Nine months of losing myself in a world I’d grown up in.
Nine months of forgetting who I was.
But all it took was one action to springboard me back into the real world.
Belle wasn’t meant to walk into the club of a cartel boss. She wasn’t meant to fall into my arms—literally.
But there she was, the girl I’d known since she took her first breath. The girl who had grown into a woman people couldn’t take their eyes off.
I thought I was doing the right thing.
I thought I was protecting her from the evil surrounding us.
I thought kissing her and getting her out of there was the only option to keep her safe.
It didn’t matter that her lips pressed against mine roared a fire to life within me.
It didn’t matter that there was a twenty-two year age gap.
It didn’t matter that she was my bosses daughter.
All that mattered was that she was safe.
Until she wasn’t.
I vowed to protect her with my life.
I promised she wouldn’t get hurt.
But I hadn’t factored her feelings into it.
Belle was forbidden fruit I hadn’t been able to resist, and now there was no going back.
Bonds weren’t meant to be broken, but ours had been torn apart irrecoverably.
Torn Bond is book one in the Bonded Duet. A two-part, drama driven, story of nail biting angst.
more
Abigail Davies certainly brought everything with Torn Bond.
I’ve wanted to know more about Ford since first meeting him in the Fallen Duet (start there if you haven’t already) and that’s exactly what I got – more Ford.
Belle wants her independence and being away at college gives her that, until she stumbles into Ford while he’s undercover, which ends in him being her bodyguard. Ford has always been protective of Belle, even more so now when she becomes a person of interest of the guy he’s trying to take down.
Belle and Ford’s story is everything. It’s emotional, it’s heart pounding, it’s heartbreaking. Their connection and chemistry is off the scale. It’s a bond that has been developing for years. A love that should be wrong – age gap, boss’s daughter – but nothing can stand in the way of the feelings these two have.
I’ve followed the Easton’s from their very first story. Each one has it’s own storyline and for me, they get better with each duet.
It has taken me a couple days to get this wrote. I had to take a break to collect my feelings and put my poor little heart back together. I was in need of tissues. Now I’m eagerly waiting for Tied Bond, thankfully it’s only a couple weeks away.
I didn’t know what to expect from Belle and Ford’s duet but I knew it would be brilliant. And guess what? I was right! I do love an age gap read, but Torn Bond had the added bonus of being a best friend’s daughter too. I just couldn’t contain my excitement! There’s lots of drama, suspense, and family loyalty in this, the first book of the fantastic Bonded Duet which continues the ‘AMAZING’ Easton Family Saga Series!
She fought hard for her independence. With parents who are over protective and the “Uncles” who work with her father she will never be taken seriously. Off at college and enjoying the life she walks into an undercover operation and it’s a game changer. Now she has Ford watching over her while they both battle boundaries and desire. Oh yeah and let’s not forget that with this author nothing is simple. This is a story that does end on a cliffhanger but it’s not because there isn’t plenty to tell.
Absolutely loved it and that’s why I keep coming back for this author. Her books are emotional with twist and turns and of course characters you can’t help but relate to in some way or another. This is an age old tale that of course crosses the line drawn in the sand between age and duty. Awesome read.
Wow!!! Had me on edge!! Full of angst!! Needing more!! Fantastic book!!
Wow! I knew this book was going to be fantastic but she upped her game to a whole other level with Fords book ! I’ve been dying for Fords book since the Fallen duet and I was not disappointed! This book was such a treat with all the feels definitely a heart racing emotional experience with tons of angst ! I LOVED Belle she is by far the only one who can bring Ford to his knees and I’m so going to enjoy the next book in this duet !!! Can’t wait for the conclusion to this story definitely 5 stars from me !!!
*** I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book ***
Warning this review contains blasphemy and swearing, so if that offends you please don’t read this.
Jesus f&$king Christ! I just… Um…
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK DID I JUST READ!?
It was intense, sexy, scary, cute, and I definitely didn’t see that curve ball coming.
I know there is more going on than what I have just read – there always is with this series. But still… shit. I nearly cried!
I’m very much looking forward to the rest of Belle and Ford’s story – I am hoping my heart will be put back together and not shattered even more than it already is.
#WANTANDNEEDMORE
FIVE BIG STARS for Belle and Ford !!!
I love to read age-gap romance from time to time but usually, they are good but nothing special to get from me “Wow” effect, but there are also books that surprised me and I love them from the bottom of my heart.
And that is “Easton Family Saga” by Abigail Davies.
Those books are AMAZING!!!
I fell in love with them and every new duet is better and better.
Abigail is definitely my favorite age-gap romance writer and I’ll never get enough of her books.
“Torn Bond” is an age-gap and suspense romance with the mafia and forbidden love trope.
This book was a total surprise because of the part which scared me and it also made me really sad because I didn’t expect that something like that will happen (who have read the book will know what I’m talking about).
No matter of that unexpected part, I really enjoyed reading this book and the connection between Belle and Ford is so special that I can’t see it wrong, even there is the age difference between them.
The wrong is never felt so right.
I loved both of the main characters but I also still can’t stop loving the other characters with whom I fell in love with previous books of this saga.
The end of this book totally broke me and I’m still hoping that everything will be okay because I want to see Belle and Ford’s HEA .
I will not accept anything else !
If you love reading age-gap romance, you MUST READ not just this duet, you NEED TO READ the whole series!!!
P.S. I need a “Tied Bond” right now!!!
Belle Easton has moved away for college and is roommates with Stella whom she grew up with. When the two girls go out with Stella’s boyfried Justin and his best friend Shane to a brand new club, Belle is shocked to run into someone from her past.
Ford has been working undercover to infiltrate the cartel that is run by Eduardo Cruz. Now he has finally gained his trust but when Belle walks into Cruz’s cartel he is torn with trying to stay undercover and getting Belle out of the club as fast as possible.
When Ford kisses Belle to try and protect her everything is at risk when he learns that his boss knows who Belle is, and more importantly who her father is.
How far will Ford go to protect Belle and what will he lose?
This is a great beginning to the duet and I’m looking forward to the next one!
I really liked Belle and I did understand why she needed to live somewhere where she was her own person. I liked her close friendship with Stella but I also was a little shocked at how “free” Belle acted at the club knowing the line of work that her dad was in. I guess I’d assume if I grew knowing the dangers I would be a little more cautious.
Ford was another great character as he was so torn with what he needed to do. He knew he had to protect Belle at all costs but at the same time he was undercover for so long trying to infiltrate the cartel and he didn’t want all of his work to go to waste. The kiss you knew would be the start of something but at the same time I could see why Ford was worried about getting involved with Belle.
The tension between Ford and Belle was through the roof and you knew things were going to happen and they definitely did although both were worried about getting caught!
There were a few events that left me sad and freaking out a little as I was worried about Belle’s safety. I was pretty sure that there was no where that Cruz couldn’t get to no matter where he was.
I was very surprised at the turn of events at the end of the book for Belle as I wasn’t expecting it. I’m still not 100% sure on how I feel about Shane and where his loyalties are.
The very end initially shocked me but I am pretty sure it is all part of a bigger plan – at least I am hoping so!!

What a page turner. I literally couldn’t put it down, I couldn’t devour the words quick enough. This book is just amazing. Baby Belle is all grown up and has her sights on Ford. They have always had a connection but now as Belle has grown that connection has gone from innocent to lustful and less than innocent. As Belle finds herself in trouble Ford is the one who has to babysit/protect her and this is when sparks fly. Their chemistry is off the charts and they really do fit well together. They really will steal your heart. As of all these duets Torn Bond finishes on a massive cliffhanger with an ending that leaves you speechless, reeling and needing answers. I’m on tenterhooks waiting for the concluding part.
Belle and Ford have known each other since she was born. Ford is a DEA agent who is deep undercover but then Belle walks back into his life. He can’t get her out of his mind and she felt the same way but Ford is trying to protect her. Will he be able to continue resisting her?
I was so excited to get back into this book world that I love. This story lived up to my expectations and more. WTH just happened?
Belle and Ford take us on a crazy ride. Plan to not only experience some forbidden love elements but also angst to the nth degree.
Ford is our nummy under cover agent who works with Belle’s dad. Belle is a college student trying to live a life where she isn’t being smothered by her over protective father.
I am dying here. My mind is racing as I try to understand all. My heart is broken by what happens to some of Belle’s tribe. I totally should have expect this from this author. She always destroys me with her cliffhangers and this one is no different.
Ugh when does book two come out? I need it yesterday. Eek.
Ok Happy Reading Everyone.
These duets just keep getting better and better, they are amazing and a total must read.
Torn bond is Belle and Ford’s story, each duet focuses on a certain ‘couple’ and so you meet all the characters throughout but they can all be read as a standalone duet if wanted. Trust me though you’ll want to read them all. I was so excited to read about ‘Baby Belle’ and Ford who we met briefly previously, I smiled so big when i found out this was there story and it did not disappoint.
The story sucks you in and holds your attention to the very last page and it’s torture waiting two weeks until the next one comes out. I want it now.
Abigail is an amazing writer and you can just get swept up and lost in her books.
This is without a doubt going to be a top read of 2020.
I have loved every book in the Easton Family duets. I went into this book expecting that I would love it. Then I started reading it and with every page I loved it way more than I expected. I never thought anyone would be my favorite except Brody and Lola but these 2 changes my view on that.
Ford was the perfect alpha hero with his bossy and protective ways and the banter between him and Belle made for a little fun mixed with the heaviness. The chemistry between these 2 was hot enough to melt my kindle before they ever touched. It’s one of those books that when you read the last page you still find yourself thinking about the characters days and weeks after you finish.
As always with Abi’s books it leaves you satisfied that you just spent hours inside this amazing other world but you want more of that you don’t want to say goodbye and go back to real life.
Belle never expected to see Ford at the club with her friends, knowing he was undercover, or that he would kiss her when they were being watched for her safety, a kiss that she can’t forget or deny the chemistry they both felt.
Ford knew Belle wasn’t a kid anymore, even knowing what he felt he couldn’t go there, she was his boss’s daughter, he’s known her for years and will do anything to protect her.
With Ford being Belle’s bodyguard after Ford denying his feelings, he knows he can’t keep Belle at a distance anymore, and she doesn’t want him too.
It clearly says book one of a duet, so I was expecting a cliff-hanger, but the ending is one you won’t see coming, can’t wait for book two.
I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.
What a rollercoaster this book is it had me reading well into the early hours, just one more chapter and then low and behold I’d reached the end of the book wondering how it happened.
This book is edge of the seat, fast paced, romance with cartel thrown in
Baby Belle is now Woman Belle and Uncle Ford is now just Ford, and both have lustful thoughts about the other, will they act on thoughs thoughts??
Ford is undercover in a cartel and literally bumps into Belle in a nightclub owned by the cartel. This is when the shit hits the fan and puts them both at risk from the said cartel.
What will happen? Well let me tell you there are plenty of twists and turns, and it ends on a dozy of a cliffhanger
This is definitely a book I’d recommend but beware it does end on a CLIFFHANGER
4 Cranky Stars
I haven’t read the Easton Family Saga series prior to this but I think it can carry on its own unless you like the background story on the family itself. I will say the first half of this book was just ok for me and it seemed slow. Belle was 20 and I get that she wanted to be treated like an adult and do her own things but when your dad is DEA and undercover often you have to concede your freedom in order to be safe but not Belle though she’s as stubborn as they come. She also did carry a torch for one of her dad’s team members Ford. This is where the age gap romance comes in because you see while she’s soon to be 21 Ford is 40, I think he might have been a tad younger or older so it’s now taboo and we can’t let daddy know. When she walks into a club, she doesn’t realize she just placed herself and Ford in the path of a murdering drug cartel boss. You see where this book is going? When it’s suggested she leaves the college apartment she shares with her best friend she refuses and in comes Ford. Ford knows the relationship is wrong heck he watched Baby Belle grow up, but he’s drawn. He’s also determined to keep her safe but keeping her at a distance is something he can’t do. The book for me became interesting at like the 60 percent mark and at that point I flew through the rest. I felt for Belle and Ford. I felt their triumphs and their losses.
Like I said it made me want to read book two with that ending. I just hope it gives us some closure and answers. I’m not upset that I wanted to quit because of that second half. I’m not sure I trust Curtis but that’s also to be determined. I just hope that ending isn’t true. So yeah if you like cops, age gap, and college romances with a cute puppy then this might be your book. I would say wait till both are out because you are going to want that second book handy.
I love Abigail Davies writing. She always seems to grab your attention from the first page. Then once you start reading you won’t want to stop because you want to get to the end. You fall in love with her characters. Belle and Ford are going to grab your heart! Gahh…..a love story that started so long ago. Things change over the years and we watch as these two learn their new normal. Once Belle finds Ford in the club EVERYTHING changes.
I NEED THE NEXT BOOK ASAP!!
Highly recommended.
*I was given a free advanced copy of this book by the author in exchange for my honest and voluntary review.*
I’ve been hooked on the Easton family since Brody and Lola, I suggest you start there so you can feel the full effects of these characters.
Belle has loved Ford her whole life, but was unattainable for obvious reasons, Belle showed up at a night club with Friends, where Ford was working undercover unbeknownst to her, but then fate intervene and the sparks fly after the kiss that started it all, there’s no denying the chemistry these two have.
Ford has always known Belle was special to him, but until now he didn’t realize how much he wants to be with her until he had to go back to work which means undercover again, his work always pulls him away and he doesn’t want her to pulled in to his crazy life. When Ford’s work comes face to face with Belle and her safety comes into question. He’s makes the decision to walk away, he’d rather her be safe than think of his own happiness.
Will their love be enough to pull them through the troubled water ahead?! This book will have you craving the next page, and you will think of Belle and Ford long after you put the book down!
I really think this woman is trying to give me heart failure!!!….talk about an emotional rollercoaster! And then that ending..!!!
This is Belle and Ford’s story…
Belle is Lola & Brody’s daughter, (you should go back and start with their duet – brilliant!) and Ford works for Brody as an undercover agent – he’s so alpha hotness!!
Belle’s in trouble and it’s Ford sent to protect her….bring on the twists and the gasps and the horror and the emotions and then drama and trauma and..and…and *breathe* there’s everything!
There’s a 22year age gap with these two but sometimes you just can’t deny a connection which these two most definitely have, they are believable, It’s not some young ditzy fawning after an aul dude! It’s a genuine connection between two likable people
Thoroughly enjoyed this book and I am excited for part 2!!!
I voluntarily received an arc from the author and this is my honest review.
Fucking Hell…
I had to make myself take a breather before writing my review for this emotional bulldozer. And that is exactly what this book was, an emotional bulldozer. I thought that Lola’s duet was an emotional ride, then came Cade’s duet and Davies upped the anti. Well this was all true till I got the first part in Ford and Belle’s duet. Davies definitely started this duet off way above the others.
Ford. mother Fucking Ford. I have been wanting Ford to get his own story since meeting him in the Fallen Duet. And let’s just say the wait for his story was well worth the wait. You were able to see the many layers that makes up the man that is Mother Fucking Ford.
Belle is the only one that can bring Ford to his knees. But, she’s also the one person that he should keep his distance from. Not only because of Belle’s age, but because she’s Baby Belle, the daughter of his boss/friend and Lola.
The first part of the Bonded Duet had everything needed…
1. Age-gap
2. Forbidden romance
3. Heart racing emotional story
4. Gut wrenching moments
5. Off the charts angst
6. Mother Fucking Ford
7. Did I mention angst to the 10th level
8. Suspense that will keep you guessing
9. A Lovable Asshole that steals your heart
And
10. A cliffhanger that leaves me going thru withdrawals till the conclusion is in my hands.
I am saying this now, this book, and I predict the conclusion, is going to be on the top of my Top Reads List for this year. It’s not everyday that a book has me reeling emotionally. And this one definitely did. And if you are reading this review before this book is released, I highly recommend that you read the Fallen Duet and then the Fated Duet so that you get the full force that is the man named Ford.
Five plus stars for you Davies. Five plus fucking stars .
