Taking her is my right.
Breaking her, my duty.
I was always going to choose Helena. I knew it the instant I saw her.
She’s different than the others. There’s a darkness about her. Something wild inside her. And it calls to the beast inside me.
But she isn’t what I expect. With every word and every touch, she pushes me, burrows deep under my skin, challenging the rules, upending history.
And … rules, upending history.
And all the while, I see how my brother watches her. He wants her, and as the rules stand, she’ll become his in one year’s time.
Except that I have no intention of giving her up.

This duet absolutely gave me everything I love! Darkness, passion, intensity, a battle of wills neither character refuses to lose but does everything in their power to win, while enjoying every single fiery second. I love me some Natasha Knig
This story took a left turn and I’m not sure how I feel about it. After riding the high from the first book, I thought the idea of me loving this conclusion was all but guaranteed, however, my love was proven elusive.
Don’t get me wrong, as you can see by my high rating, there was plenty to like about this part of the story. The relationship between Sebastian and Helena was just as toxic and exciting as ever. She still asked too many questions and acted too big for her britches and Sebastian still let her get away with it for the most part. I guess that’s what love will make you do.
I can’t get her out of my head. Out from under my skin. I an’t get enough of touching her, can’t get close enough to her, not even when I’m buried deep inside her.
Their future happiness suffered a glitch – Sebastian’s brother, Gregory, wanted his turn with the Willow girl. Sebastian didn’t want to give her up at the end of his year. He didn’t want to watch her with his brother. His solution: share her. And while these scenes were incredibly hot, I lost my connection with the characters. Sebastian was hurting everyone with his actions and the one person I felt terrible for was Gregory. This poor little man just wanted something. He was full of turmoil and ache, and really who could blame him considering his upbringing, and his brother was teasing him with what he couldn’t have. Damn him!
I’m not sure what I was expecting with this ending. I wanted the characters to be redeemed and I wanted them to be whole in their love for one another, but I also would have liked a bit more torment. I wanted Helena to suffer more because I don’t believe she suffered enough. Her mouth got on my nerves and I don’t know how it didn’t get on theirs. Her behavior was atrocious and I found nothing attractive about her, but I loved the ways the Scafoni brothers played with her. I guess I wanted more of that.
This truly was the perfect ending to Sebastian and Helena’s story! After the way the previous book left off, I totally needed to find out what happened! More twists and turns, with revelations and an awareness that wasn’t in present in book 1. This was no ordinary love, not by far, but it worked in all the ways that counted. I love it when a book sends me off the deep end, craving each word, each phrase, each scene. The conclusion left me with a huge sigh, and I had to give myself a hug, happy for the ending, but sad that it was over. This duet is a must read!
Such a perfect ending to Sebastian and Helena’s story. They are true soul mates and no matter what life threw to them, they conquer it with their heads up and their love stronger than ever.
They are so strong and their love is the type of love that lasts forever.
Gregory, Sebastian’s brother, plays a big part in this book. I feel so attracted to him, but he’s still an enigma. I would really love to unfold this enigma…
Highly recommend this book to everyone who loves dark, twisted, yet sooo intriguing, interesting books.
“Taking her is my right. Breaking her, my duty. “
Sebastian Scafoni is not as he seems and Helena Willow refuses to be broken. Unfortunately, not everything is within their control.
Curse? Ridiculous!
Finally, secrets are revealed and a light is shined on the darkness. Generation after generation of Willow girls have suffered at the hands of the Scafoni family, is it possible, that all this time, love was the answer?
This is the conclusion of the Dark Legacy story, and I confess this one nearly broke me. It tested my limits and annihilated my emotions… but aren’t those the best kind of stories. Be prepared for a huge book hangover.
YES!!! We have the conclusion to Sebastian and Helena!! Really Good! The storyline is intriguing and there were certain situations I was like “really? Why???”
Many were against Sebastian and Helena and the whole situation they were creating but it kept my emotions high and I was dying to get to the end to see what happens.
I could-not-put-it-down, dark, dark-and-dirty, favorite-series, read twice.
LOVED the Taken/Torn Duet! I couldn’t put it down until I’d read every dark, dirty, delicious word! Two strong-willed characters are brought together by an ancient family tradition and find so much more than they expected
The Dark Legacy duet continues in” Torn”, as we find out the fate of Sebastian and Willow after that doozy of a cliffhanger from book one. As details unfold and motives come to light, Sebastian’s will to protect Helena grows stronger as does his love for her. Where the first book was a bit darker due to the twisted tradition and history of these families, this book focuses more on the connection and erotic romance between Helena and Sebastian, and how Gregory plays a big part in it. I’m thoroughly pleased with the ending, but there were some open-ended plot twists that I’d love to know what happens for those characters.
Listened to on audio: Michael Pauley and MacKenzie Cartwright continued an amazing narration of this compelling tale, giving such emotion and personality to the characters, truly making it a pleasurable listening experience.

I loved Taken, which is the first book in the duet and must be read before Torn. The ending left me desperate to see what happened next and on the whole I wasn’t disappointed.
Sebastian confused me quite a lot to be honest, and I’m still unsure whether I love or loathe him. I had a suspicion that he would want to stop the history between the Scafoni and Willow families repeating itself, but how he acted in certain scenes wasn’t what I expected at all. That for me is a good thing, because who wants a predictable story line. However I’m not sure if I’m happy about the results of these confusing actions – I think I may have become attached along the way.
I saw a change in Helena but I felt that the circumstances she found herself in warranted this. From very first moment we met her in Taken I knew she was the one out of all the Willow Girls who was most likely to rebel, and I really like her.
You are probably wondering why I am being a little vague. I just don’t want to post anything in this review that gives the story plot away. You should always experience a book without spoilers and Torn is no different.
The fact that I read this book in less than 24 hours shows I was unable to put it down – I desperately wanted to know what was going to happen next. I was torn between giving this book 3.5 or 4 stars because I do have some questions that I feel need answering and as this is the second book in the duet I would have assumed everything should have been explained by the end. However, I feel Twisted which is a spin off from this duet may give me some of those answers, and I cannot wait.
This book was amazing, dark, steamy, twisted and the characters were great. Michael Pauley & Mackenzie Cartwright did a great job narrating.
If you have made it this far- you have nerves of steel! “Taken” tests you and pushes you to see if it can bring you to the edge. But I urge you- continue to “Torn” and you will be greatly rewarded with a fantastic ending to this tale. The characters in this book are so flawed yet we come to see the hidden sides of them and see that they are not the monsters we think they are. The chemistry, the HEAT, the suspense. I looooved it! Natasha is the queen of Dark romance- An amazing read all around.
Narration was great! They did a wonderful job of bringing these complex characters to life in the best way!

4.5 super sexy stars!!
This is book two (and final Helena & Sebastian Book) in the “Dark Legacy” Duet.
This is a continuation of the all crazy love triangle that is Helena, Gregory and Sebastian. Ahhhh it is fucking awesome!!
I love this story period! This story is crazy and I didn’t realize how this was going to go. Man I was surprised multiple times and can I say that I definitely need a Gregory story. And what about Amy?!?!!!!
This story is carried out beautifully. I enjoyed every minute. My only thing is maybe the end was fast and kind for me. I need more!! This book has you rooting for the good guy, the bad guy and everyone in-between.
** I received this book as an ARC (and due to unforeseen circumstances got way behind on all ARC’s) and in return gave my late and honest review**
This book is the continuation from Taken and can’t be read as a stand alone.
I loved Sebastian and with the way Taken ended my heart was sinking just wondering what happened. I couldn’t get through Torn fast enough! I had to know the end, had to know how everything worked out for everyone. I was captivated to say the least!
Helena was by far the best, her strength, courage, and endurance through everything she went through was motivational. She was so strong and didn’t let anyone or anything break her, even if she was breaking a little on the inside she never let it show.
I never saw the turn of events that took place coming! I couldn’t decide how I felt about Gregory, he was definitely a conundrum. I wanted to love him and hate him all at once. I was completely torn on my feelings for him, empathy, sadness, hate, ambivalence.. ALL of the above!
I adored this book and everything in it. Taken had me slightly struggling with my feelings on the entire situation but Torn was just what I needed!
Man, this duet was crazy! Everything you could want in a dark book and still get your HEA at the end! I didn’t know where this book was going to go and I loved the crazy ride it took me on! I am excited to read more of Natasha’s books because I know she has more dark books.
As I mentioned for book 1, this is by no means a light read. I also don’t think I would recommend this as your first dark book. Maybe after a few books, I would recommend. I would definitely start with something a lot lighter. Dark fans I really think will enjoy this book, but probably a lot of Natasha’s books!
Torn is the continuation of the Dark Legacy duet and we continue to get to know more about Helena’s destiny and Sebastian controlling needs and ways.. a roller coaster of emotions not knowing how to feel and what to think.. these two really kept moving my feelings back and forward not knowing what was going to happen next … Gregory character is also a very great secondary character that brings so much to the book and also to the relationship and story of Helena and Sebastian sometimes even getting in the middle but knowing Helena had another plans and feelings in her mind.. great conclusion of this Duet. I really enjoy all the suspense and the story of how evolved making us want more from these amazing characters..
Torn the second book in duet is definitely darker than the first, with new twists and turns, still sitting on the edge of your seat, then we see the lies and deception come to light in a journal. Two selfless acts change the course of this Dark Legacy.
I don’t often talk of characters in my reviews, but I have to say Helena Willow gave as good as she got. I think she turned the tables on this family, brought light to the end of a dark tunnel.
Michael Pauley, Mackenzie Cartwright again outstanding performance in narration.
Taken MUST be read first. Torn starts exactly where Taken has left off. Sebastian and Helena are discovering more about their past and how this century old tradition began. Helena’s aunt wants her to end the tradition. Sebastian would be the Scarfoni boy to do it, as he already broke a rule by picking Helena. But Sebastian’s brother has other ideas. As the story unfolds, the twists and turns bring to life new, shocking information. I love the relationship that grows between Helena and Sebastian. Torn is not to be missed. Make sure you have it loaded and ready to go as soon as you finish Taken because this is one series that you cannot stop listening to until the very end.
I enjoyed the continuity of the narration by Micheal Pauley and Mackenzie Cartwright. Once again they bring this story to life. Michael Pauley is a wonderful Sebastian. His harsh demeanor and his softer side is brought to life through Mr. Pauley’s narration. Helena discovers so much about her family in torn and Mackenzie Cartwright narrates each surprising reaction with ease. Ms. Cartwright brings Helena to life and makes her a loveable heroine.
Moved right on to this one since the last one ended in a cliff hanger and um trying to get through all these reviews before school starts. This is even more crazy and twisted. These characters feelings in this one fit the title of the book perfectly as they all remained torn on what to do about all their feelings. This one was a bit weird for me since I’m not a huge fan of the whole sharing lovers with siblings thing. I wasn’t really expecting that but sebastian felt he didn’t have any other option because of the temporary agreement he made and he felt like this was the only way helena can end up being fully his in the end. Helena remains confused about her feelings for both brothers but realizing her feelings for one over power her feelings for the other. In the end you know which brother she ends up choosing and can’t help but feel bad for Gregory. This was pretty dark and thers quite a bit if violence in both books. All these characters are a hot mess which makes for an interesting stories. Its one of those things you want to look away from but cant at the same time lol. This book goes into more detail about both families histories and how the past brings them to where they are now. So my feeling for this series are similar to the charcaters, I’m completely torn. The story was captivating, entertaining and heart wrenching at times but there were a few things I could have done without. There were some cringing scenes for me but this is a dark romance after all and it is fiction. I recieved this book in exchange for an honest review. I must read Gregory’s story now!
Book 2 of the Dark Legacy series is just a great as book 1, Taken. This dark romance continued with Helena and Sebastian’s story and page turner it is!
Book 1 must be read before reading Torn to fully understand the storyline. Definately a great duet!
