A new dark romance from New York Times bestseller Anna ZairesHe came to me in the night, a cruel, darkly handsome stranger from the most dangerous corners of Russia. He tormented me and destroyed me, ripping apart my world in his quest for vengeance. Now he’s back, but he’s no longer after my secrets. The man who stars in my nightmares wants me.
one of my top writers love her stuff
Can’t wait to read the next in the series.
The book was a little different than what I’m use to reading, but I enjoyed it very much. Could not stop reading since I started. It was very different from other books.
Peter! Peter! Peter! Peter Sokolov is the man!!! He goes full-throttle after what and who (Sara) he wants! Read this book—you will not regret it!
Once you start reading, it’s hard to put down!!
Loved this! If you like twisted stories, with excellent characters I strongly recommend.
It was a good read
I can’t believe I love this book that much. Like the heroine I know I should hate her tormentor for all the same reasons she does; but he draws you in to the point of questioning your own sanity for rooting for him. I cant wait to read the sequels and see where this twistedly unconventional journey of discovery leads them.
It wasn’t a cliff hanger but it didn’t satisfy my need for a HEA.
I liked this book. It is a cliffhanger being the first of three books. I haven’t decided if it is worth $12 to finish the story.
I really enjoyed the book. You felt for the characters for different reasons. Couldn’t wait for the next book.
Peter, who we first met in the must read Twist Me Trilogy, was a member of the counterterrorism unit of Spetsnaz, the Russian Special Forces, until his wife and son are killed in a NATO strike. Peter then spends 5.5 years wreaking vengeance against those who played a part in his family’s death but now that he’s coming to the end of his kill list, feels he has no purpose in life. Until he meets the beautiful Sara. Peter ambushes Sara when she comes home after work and tortures her for her husband George’s location. Peter finds that he can’t stop thinking about Sara and reappears in her life 6 months later. Sara wants to call the FBI to hide her but thoughts of Peter interrogating her elderly parents stop her. Peter becomes a part of Sara’s home life, pampering her, cooking for her, and staying the night. Sara is having lunch with friends when her friend’s comment “The fastest way to lose a guy is to sleep with him” gives her an idea. Sara is surprised by how much she misses Peter when her plan works and he’s no longer in her life. Sara didn’t expect Peter to be back 2 weeks later and finds out he was injured during an assignment and was recovering. Life goes back to normal until an FBI agent shows up at Sara’s workplace and tells her that Peter was spotted a few blocks away. This is Sara’s chance to be free of Peter once and for all. Is she going to turn Peter in?
Tormentor Mine is a completely riveting story that’s breathtakingly suspenseful, heartbreakingly angtsy and hot enough to start a forest fire. The incredibly talented Anna Zaires combined an intriguing plot with an intense alpha hero who will do anything to protect the woman he loves and a sweet heroine who doesn’t want to have feelings for her husband’s killer to create a wild ride of a story that I could not put down. This book is a must read!
Though by definition, a Stockholm syndrome story is dark, Tormentor Mine not as dark as the Twisted Series. It is sexier, hotter, and the growing affection between the tormentor, Peter, and the tormented Sara are touching and very romantic.
This is my very first Anna Zaires book, I love dark stories and I have seen her name before so I decided to take the plunge. I started this book and didn’t really read the blurb because i like to be surprised and boy did I get more than I bargained for.
Peter Sokolov is a Russian man hell bent on a mission to seek revenge for the death of his wife and child. He tracks each of the people involved and takes them out one by one. Until he gets to George Cobakis, he couldn’t easily find him so he went to his wife, Dr. Sara Cobakis. He forces her to give the info he needs and disappears…and so the story begins.
I’m afraid to give too much if I elaborate anymore than this, I’ll just get too excited. I wasn’t sure how I felt about this story at first because it wasn’t a fast paced book, it was more steady. But it needed to be because it pulls you in more the further you go and you NEEX to know what happens next. These characters are complex, and… to be honest, might be out of their GD minds at times. They had me think to myself, “WTF?,” a few times. Lol
This is a Dark story with quite a few triggers for some people. It is also the first in a series, with a cliffhanger ending. Luckily book 2, Obsession Mine, is readily available. AND I also found out that Peter Sokolov was in a previous series by Anna Zaires called the Twist Me Series, but it does NOT need to be ready first. (I’m gonna go back and read it after I finish off this series).
I really enjoyed this book. The story line was something that I thought was very original, with great characters. The only drawback was that it didn’t finish. You have to go to the next book in the series!
I get exceptionally annoyed when I need to purchase further books to find out what happens
I liked the story but this is a pet hate of mine
Very erotic, I loved it.
I had a difficult time relating to the story because the plot was so strange. I thought the lead male character was a bit creepy and abusive.
I didnt really like it.
4.4 stars
In preparation for the conclusion, I had to come back and read this book. I did it backward and started with book three (which incidentally knocked me on my behind) but figured I wanted to know ALL the details that I had missed in the series.
I am glad I did because I was able to get a better understanding of what made these characters tick. This author does a good job of making the anti-hero a love interest. Any other time, there is No way that a stalker/assassin would be attractive but sweet holy hell, Peter is most assuredly a dream. His patience and the way he is always avidly invested in Sara is remarkable. Looking forward to where this story goes next.
