Five victims, four friends, three novels, two romances, and one cold case mystery, combine to bring you the first in a series of three part reunion stories by USA Today Bestselling author Kathi Daley.
In the second installment of the three part story, Kelly, Carrie, and Nora, are joined by Quinn, who together, revisit the past in the hope of finding answers to a twenty five year old mystery. … mystery. While the details surrounding the mystery seem to have gaps that can’t be explained, things begin to come together after Kelly shares Nora’s story about Cherry with Sam. Determined to find out whether this mystery woman is still alive, or if she was, in fact, victim number four, Sam hunts for answers, only to find, when a girl turns up dead, that perhaps their assumptions were wrong all along.
Meanwhile Kelly is spending her time at The Perfect Tan Surfing Competition, Carrie is busy moving into her condo, Quinn is conflicted as work clashes with her much needed vacation, and Nora struggles with the decision she knows it is well past time to make.

This trilogy mystery is best read in 0rder as each book builds upon the previous one. Each also ends at a point where you are anxious to know what will happen next!
A group of young women whose families vacationed in the same place each year called themselves the Summer Six. As happens, they grow up and go on to have familes of their own but these young ladies kept in touch. Of the six, two are twin sisters and several are surfers. The summer they turned sixteen, one of the six disappears. Years later, one of the twins has a horrible accident and, after time in a coma, dies. The remaining four try to arrange a reunion and plan a memorial.
Life is complicated, and while all need a vacation, even when they get time together, things don’t work as planned. In some ways that is a plus, not so much in others.
Romance may blossom, tragedy may strike. Ride the waves along with them all and be prepared to hold your breath.
Topsail Sundays earns 5/5 Island Surfboards…Compelling!
The story continues…must read book one, Summerhouse Reunion. Part Two of Kathi Daley’s Island Reunion trilogy adds more surprising and intriguing details, more characters with fascinating memories, and a cliffhanger ending making readers eager for book three. For Kelly Green being back on the island, in the house she spent many a summer, and reading some of her teen-year’s journals has invoked a flood of memories. And getting back in touch with old friends, lives are shared and friendships strengthen. Kelly and Ryder West, her friend Carrie’s younger brother, have shared an interest in jogging and sailing, quiet confidences, and a few late night encounters. However, it’s the 1995 disappearance of her friend Peggy that has turned from mystery to a disturbing pattern and victim profile with friend Sheriff Sam Stone raising the possibility the island had and has a serial killer. With a body washed up on the beach, police make a surprising identification, and forensic clues make this quest for answers…weird. Closer scrutiny may be necessary of the annual surfing competition and a local artist, but some old photos and newspaper clippings make this mystery and crime grab everyone’s interest.
As I read, a few “light bulbs” blinked on and off as a picture started to emerge, a scenario developed, persons of interest theorized, and a possible 2020 victim that eerily fits the profile. As the group, with law enforcement, continue their search, theories on which the investigation had settled don’t fit the new evidence…engaging twists. This second book still relies on research, informal and formal questioning, and gathering of facts, but…What? Who’s missing? I enjoyed the endearing storyline about how each friend is struggling with losing a close relative, dealing with divorce, confronting changes in the dynamic between mothers and daughters, and questioning one’s career paths, but their friendship, however lapsed over the years, is a way for each friend to find support, comfort, and reenergizing. Will they find closure for their missing friend? Will the murder investigation lead to justice? Will each friend find peace and a positive way forward in their lives? Book three, Campfire Secrets, will reveal all!
I was really looking forward to the next installment in this series, and I wasn’t disappointed. The story kept me hooked as I read through the twists and turns. It’s intriguing, and this is definitely one of those you just can’t put down. I highly recommend it.
Kelly and her friends, Carrie and Nora, are finally joined by their fourth friend, Quinn. When Quinn hears what’s been going on, she’s eager to dive into the 25 year old mystery and the impact its had. When Nora shares a story about a friend her son made one summer, things fall into place. But when the body of a girl is found it may put a damper on their assumptions.
This was a great read and second book in a trilogy. It’s well-written with well-rounded characters. The relationships are well-done while the twists and turns keep you guessing. I loved the book and am eager for the release of the third one. I highly recommend both books in this trilogy so far.
I like the series. Can’t wait for the next book to be released.
In this second book of the trilogy Quinn has finally made it to the island and Kelly is happy to spend time with her. The women seemed to have broken off into pairs leaving Kelly and Quinn time to catch up. Kelly let’s Quinn know what’s going on with the e beyond and what is happening with their friends cold case. Being a reporter Quinn is excited to jump into the investigation along with Kelly. A body soon washes ashore and the group learns that it happens to be one of the girls who went missing years earlier. Besides being dead she looked healthy and we’ll taken care of. Where has she been this whole time and why has she shown up now? These are just a few of the questions that everyone in the group is asking. Follow along as the group finds more clues and looks at more suspects, are they getting closer to the answers that they seem or will this mystery remain just that, a mystery!
Topsail Sundays is the second book in the fabulous new Island Reunion three part series. This story takes place on Shipwreck Island. Childhood friends reuniting, fun on the beach, old mysteries to solve going back 25 years involving missing teenage girls, and romance make an entertaining combination. As always, the setting and relatable characters make for an extremely enjoyable read. This book also ended with a cliffhanger. I can’t wait to read the next book!
The 2nd part of a 3 book mini series continues where the 1st book left off. You will learn more about the characters lives, relationships, and interests along with delving deeper into the mystery of the missing teenagers. I found it to be a definite page turner with all the twists and turns I have come to expect from Kathi Daley stories. Awesome story and so can’t wait for the last part of the story.
Topsail Sundays ( Island Reunion #2 )
By Kathi Daley
Topsail Sundays is book two in a three book series in Island Reunion. It is best if these books are read in order they are written. Book two picks up where book one left off. Four lady friends join up together and revisit the past in hope of finding answers to a twenty-five year old mystery. Can they find answers to the sixteen year old girls that went missing? Each of these four ladies is going through some problems in their lives. There are twist and turns that will keep you turning the pages to see what is going to happen next. The author keeps you guessing. Cant wait for the three book to see what happens .
Topsail Sundays is the second installment in Kathi Daley’s Island Trilogy. The affable characters are well developed, and the well-plotted storyline flows smoothly. This is a fun and clean read, with a strong emphasis on caring and compassion. The complex mystery encompasses cold and current cases, and the red herrings and the twists and turns will keep readers engaged and guessing. Ms. Daley is very talented in descriptive writing, and I felt like I was right in the midst of the activities taking place and sharing the characters’ tragedies and joys.
Carrie Davidson arranged for three of her childhood friends, Kelly Green, Nora Hargrove, and Diana “Quinn” Quinby, to return to Shipwreck Island for a long-overdue reunion and to do something to commemorate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the summer their friend, Peggy Amundson, went missing. Each of the four women are going through traumatic problems life has dealt them and offer strength and support to one another. Kelly is dealing with the recent death of her twin sister, Kayla; Carrie’s husband recently moved out of their home, and she’s sold the house and bought a condo; Nora fears her marriage may be over; and Quinn, who has finally joined her friends, is burned out and desperately needs a break. Kelly reconnected with Ryder West, Carrie’s younger brother, who is now a veterinarian and island’s mayor, and Sam Stone, who’s the island’s new sheriff. Sam discovered a disturbing pattern of sixteen-year-old girls with similar physical traits and interests disappearing every five years, with the first victim most likely being Peggy. Kelly convinced Sam to let her help him with the case, and if their theory is true, a girl will most likely go missing this summer. They’re thrown for a loop when the body of Veronica Smith, a girl who was reported as a runaway five years ago, is found on the beach.
