Too Wicked to Kiss is the first book in the Gothic Love Stories series. WOW! What a way to start a series! This was such a great book. There was murder, romance, twist and turns, suspense, and humor. All the characters contributed to the mystery, which slowly unraveled through out the book. It was fast paced, well written, and hard to put down. Evangeline escapes her stepfather and arrives at Blackberry Manor with Lady Stanton. Gavin Lioncroft’s sister decides to have a house party at Gavin’s house. Gavin was under the impression it would only be her family coming so when the Stanton party arrived, he was not happy. The death of a guest creates a huge mystery and all the guest have secrets. Can Gavin and Evangeline solve the mystery before her stepfather finds her? I would certainly recommend this book and can’t wait to start the second book.
“Too Wicked to Kiss” by Erica Ridley
I truly enjoyed my time with Evangeline Pemberton and Gavin Lioncroft, and my visit to Blackberry Manor. A very busy story that kept me guessing from start to finish. I received an ARC of this story from the author… this is my (I hope) unbiased review (who am I kidding.. we are all biased in our opinions.) Happy Reading !
As I was reading this book I kept on thinking that it seemed familiar and yet there were parts that I did not remember at all – then I read up about this book and found out that it has been revised and what a great job Erica Ridley has done here!
The following is my review for this lovely story.
It is amazing with just the right amount of everything, love and romance, a mystery to be solved, family life, laughter and sadness and so on. Sometimes it’s a pity that a story has to reach its conclusion and this was definitely one of those times.
Erica Ridley has written an outstanding book using a brilliant and novel story idea that kept me wondering what was going to happen next. It is also very different to her normal historical novels. Her main characters were so strong, so caring and so very interesting.
This is one of those ‘keepers’ and I most definitely recommend it as a very entertaining and enjoyable book.
I have just finished reading an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) of the revised edition and this is my voluntary and unbiased opinion of it.
