Gabriel “Gabe” Lewis retired from the NFL and returned home to Cherry Springs. He combined his passion for football with camping and is now the owner of a football camp for teens. His summers are dedicated to spending time with family and teaching his campers about the sport he loves. Zoey Zahn is a quirky, introverted writer and self-proclaimed geek. When she’s asked if she’ll accompany her … accompany her nephew, Christopher, to camp, Zoey agrees, envisioning quiet evenings of writing in the great outdoors. After she stumbles upon Gabe, however, quiet evenings alone are the last thing on her mind.
The chemistry between Gabe and Zoey is undeniable, but as camp ends, a brewing storm causes their blooming relationship to fumble. All Gabe knows is that Zoey is Too Tempting to deny, and he’s determined to overcome the obstacles between them to be the man she deserves.
Too Tempting is the first in an all-new small town romance series by Bethany Lopez. Follow the Lewis cousins of Cherry Springs, the kind of place where there are festivals for every occasion and everyone knows your business, as they learn about love and loss.

I one-clicked so fast when I read this blurb? Three words–retired football player. Can’t wait to read it!
01/06/2021 A twist in “Too Tempting” (nook) causes angst for Gabe and Zoey. I was amazed when the secret comes to light. But Gabe and Zoey are deeply in love and struggle to overcome everything to reach their HEA.
i enjoyed this book once i started reading it. i must admit i didnt choose it at first because the cover put me off a little it just didnt go with story but a good book .
loved the story ,would read more when available
Fun Camp Romance initially … and then twisted … awfully steaming for a kid’s sports camp setting.
Too Tempting (The Lewis Cousins #1) was a great read by Bethany Lopez. Gabe is a retired NFL player who is now the owner of a football camp for teenagers. Zoey is an introverted writer who is accompanying her nephew to the camp. But she shows up a week earlier than she needed to and they have a chemistry that they can’t deny. Unfortunately fate seems to want to pull them apart. I really enjoyed Gabe and Zoey’s story and can’t wait to read more in this series.
I really liked this story. Can’t deny living when the athlete falls for the needy smart girl. Both at equally famous and settled in their life of a career. But worlds apart. Zoey meets Gabe when she shows up a week early by mistake for her nephews summer camp she was asked to step into chaperon for her sister. They instantly had chemistry. And everything was peachy until the last day when her sister showed up. They just meshed well with one another and it showed. Loved how involved his family, especially his cousins who are more like brothers and sisters are towards one another.
Heartwarming and Hot
Bookish, self described nerd and author meets retired NFL Adonis running a football camp for teenagers in a very unconventional way. Sparks fly and then a twist you never saw coming…
Must read!!
Almost a soap opera but it truly works!
Gabriel “Gabe” Lewis just wants to run his football camp when he meets Zoey who is supposed to be a chaperone at the camp for her nephew but she messed up the dates and arrived a week early but Gabe let her stay. Zoey was a writer and could use being the quiet to work on her book but she never told Gabe what she wrote but when they figure out they were both famous in their fields. But their a major problem, Zoey’s sister, Chloe had a one night stand years ago and Gabe was the father of Zoey’s nephew.
Too Tempting was almost a soap opera but Bethany Lopez makes it all work where Gabe and Chloe decide to co-parent Christopher because Gabe and Zoey were in love and maybe create a family.
This story was full of surprises. Zoey shows up at camp z week early. The zing she and Gabe exchange when they first meet,
despite their differences, they enjoy a ok me of the same things, the surprises keep coming. The love they ssd’s hare continues to develop and broaden. I’m glad this is part of a family series. I hope we’ll get to see more of this interesting couple.
Melissa Morgan did a good job narrating. It felt very natural with her beautiful voice.
I ‘read’ this via audible. It’s the first work by Bethany Lopez that I’ve read but it won’t be the last. I’ll certainly be looking for the rest of this series.
A quick, read that was, at times, laugh out loud funny and at others, made you stop and wonder!
I’d say superbly done considering the shorter word count.
Bravo Bethany!
This is book 1 in the Lewis Cousins series. Can be read as a Standalone. Do you believe in that “spark that “insta-love”? I loved getting to know the characters in this story my fav. Being the geeky author chick Zoey Zahn, but of course I can’t pass up saying I didn’t fall for Mr. Superman too. “I’m falling for you too” … before I sign off with my review there… let me just say, there’s this one part where this one thing happens, it had me all excited and mad , and than there were these other parts that had me teary eyed. … Can’t wait to read the other Cousin’s stories.
Gabe, a retired NFL player, and Zoe, a famous YA author, meet when Zoe accidentally shows up one week early to volunteer at the summer camp her nephew is attending. Gabe extends an invitation for her to stay and help get things in order for when the campers arrive. Both are keeping their identities a secret, having been taken advantage of in the past. Sparks fly and they quickly fall in love, on the last day of camp when Zoe’s sister Chloe arrives to pick up her son, huge secrets are revealed. I enjoyed this book, it was quick and sweet. I listened to the audio and the narrator did a great job, I didn’t have any issues following the story or which character was speaking. I was annoyed with Gabe when he reunited with Zoe after the seven weeks they spent apart when she left camp, and he expected all to be forgiven. She needed to time to process what had been revealed (I’m not going to post a spoiler, there are plenty of reviews with those) and seven weeks is a short period of time. In the end I was glad she was able to move on from that and see all the positives that could actually bring to their relationship. Over all I would recommend this book if you’re looking for a quick, sweet, steamy read.
Thought it was standard romance – wow what a plot twist!
Despite the twists and turns of “modern family” life, the main characters are able to find a way to carve out a life for themselves. It is not easy to conform when the rules keep changing.
