A second-chances, reunion romance from a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author:When a new heir inherits the castle, poor relation Miss Rebecca Bond must wed immediately or be out on her ear. The only man she ever loved is summoned to hear the will—but their past ended so badly that they haven’t spoken in years. Yet who better than a heartless rake to teach her how to snare a gentleman … heartless rake to teach her how to snare a gentleman who appreciates her charms?
Daniel Godwin, Lord Stonebury, regrets nothing more than losing the one woman who treated him like a man, not a title. Fate has given him the perfect pretext to win her trust—even if it means watching her wed someone else. But now that she’s back in his life, he’ll do anything to convince her to choose him instead…

Another great novella from Erica Ridley. Rebecca has a desperate need for a husband and a new place to live. Daniel is on a quest for forgiveness. Nine years later their feelings for each other haven’t changed. They just have yo decide if it’s enough. A really quick read about a couple finding a second chance at love.
I enjoyed this book. The heroine Rebecca Bond has lived a solitary, forgotten existence. The one man she loved turned away from her and left. What happens when she needs a husband and her former love shows up? I didn’t think that this book was Gothic. It takes place in a dark castle…but it isn’t particularly Gothic. It is much shorter than the first two books in this series and reads more like a novella. I was given a copy of this book.
A Beautiful Novella – Rebecca Bond has been living in the shadows of Crowmere Castle since the death of her parents. When the old Earl dies, she has been so successful in being unobtrusive that he has forgotten that she lives there and doesn’t provide for her future. The new Earl wants her off his hands and gives her three months to find a husband. Her clothes are five years out of fashion and she has had no practice in flirting and so she determines that Daniel Goodenham, Viscount Stonebury should be the one to tutor her. Formerly a friend, Daniel has hurt her badly in the past but he is acknowledged to be a hit with the ladies and he will be visiting the castle for the reading of the will. A delightful story about second chances.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book from the author and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Lovely story, good length, great characters, fabulous theme and I just loved the whole package.
This story is about two people who were friends when they were younger and then they go their own ways only to meet again later in their lives and find that their friendship could become something more.
I am so happy to be able to recommend this one. It really struck a chord with me.
I read an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) of this edition and this is my voluntary and unbiased opinion of it.
