As the successful and driven CEO of Lewis Sporting Goods, Dillon rarely has time to eat a home cooked meal, let alone put any time or effort into maintaining an actual relationship. He’s been living on fumes and casual encounters for so long that finding love and starting a family never even crossed his mind, until his cousins Gabe and Reardon found women who gave them both. Laurel has been in … been in love with Dillon since she was nine years old. Unfortunately, he’s always seen her as his little sister’s pesky best friend. She can’t stop her heart from beating frantically whenever he’s near, but she’s become an expert at keeping her feelings from everyone, especially Dillon. Her secret has been safe, until now…
When Laurel needs help with her business plan, her best friend urges her to seek help from Dillon. Determined to push her feelings aside and focus on her fledgling business, Laurel knows she needs to do whatever it takes to succeed, even if it means being treated to indifference and big brother teasing from the man she loves.
Can Laurel work with Dillon and still keep her heart intact, or will things get Too Distracting when Dillon realizes what a beautiful, kind, and generous woman she has become?
Too Distracting is the third in an all-new small-town romance series by Bethany Lopez. Follow the Lewis cousins as they learn about love and loss in Cherry Springs, the kind of place where there are festivals for every occasion and everyone knows your business.

I absolutely love Bethany’s writing style. She can easily pull you into a story and make you fall in love with the characters immediately. Too Distracting is yet another example of that.
I was really excited for Dillon’s story. He is Jasmine’s twin brother. Laurel is Jasmine’s best friend since childhood. When they were kids, Laurel was that pesky girl who always played pranks and annoyed Dillon. A lot. There’s no way, many years later, Dillon can feel anything different toward her, other than annoyance. Right?
In this story, we get to see that relationship blossom into something more. More than just childhood irritations. We see Dillon look at Laurel in a different light. She’s now a beautiful woman who he can’t help but feel attracted to. One weekend is all it took for him to realize he can’t get enough.
This group of cousins/friends is so dang lovable. You can’t help but want to know everything about them. You wish you could hang out with them. I miss them already and need the next book like yesterday!
This story was fun, it was sexy, and left me with a smile on my face.
Read Gabe’s book
I think I’d actually like Reardon’s. This one is okay. There is not enough reality in the romance and too much in the sex scenes–it creates a disconnect. Its not realistic enough to be a modern romance, the characters are all super nice and loving with no heartbreak. I know she was supposedly in a verbally abusive relationship, but she doesn’t act like it. She has a moment of I’m so dumb but it disappears. She was going to fight for her man and business and that doesn’t play true to someone abused. Self destruction, self loathing, mistrust of good things and motives those are more hallmarks of abuse. But this is a Rom-com version of story telling where characters are interchangeable actors with backstories that don’t really match up to their actions. Then you add really graphic sex scenes and frankly I’m not a fan.

This is a really fun series.
TOO DISTRACTING is one of the books in the Lewises series. Dillion and Laurel grew up together. Dillion’s twin Jazz and Laurel are best friends. There are fun, original parts in this book. I gave it 3 stars rather than 4 stars because the action got a bit too steamy for me.
I LOVE every single visit with the Lewis family and each one is better than the last!!
Dillon has known Laurel for his whole life and all of his memories are about the ridiculous pranks she’s always played on him with his twin sister Jasmine. Laurel has quietly been in love with Dillon since she was 9 years old and constantly hopes that he will see her and want to be with her too. Working together on Laurel’s business plan and a weekend away at a sports convention might just be what they need in order to change the way they have always been together.
The Lewis men are super swoony and Dillion is no exception. I loved watching him get to know Laurel as she is today and letting go of the memories of the girl who pranked him all the time. Laurel is such an amazing woman. She’s overcome so much in her life and is finally going for what she wants, both professionally and personally. The Lewis family is so supportive and loving of everyone who is in it and I loved watching all of their interactions. I can’t wait for Jazzy and Serena to get their HEA!!
This has to be my favorite Lewis cousin’s book yet. First this book cover had me swooning since the cover Reveal, then after reading this story, I genuinely feel this book is worth its 5 fantastic brilliant stars. Seriously Dillon has to be my favorite Lewis cousin. I am so delighted about how this story ended. Dillon and Laurel were the prefect characters, their history together, the uncertainty, the emotion. Seriously can these Lewis cousins get any better.
Loved this book and these two are too cute for words. When she finally gets a chance to be one on one with the man she has loved since she was 9 he’s the only one surprised at just how good they are. The question is what happens when they return to the real world. A well written story written with care and tenderness. Loved it and love this author. A standalone read that has carryover characters.
My favorite kind of reads are the ones that began in an obvious way, but end up being more than even I could have dreamed. Too Distracting is a throwback to the best of plot lines. Friends, lovers and happy endings. At the center of it all is a devoted community, a loving family and the opportunity for many dreams to become realistic happenings. Like a never ending hug that lights up the heart and uplifts the soul, Ms. Lopez and her casts of love are like coming home.
