Tompkin’s School: For The Extraordinarily Talented (A Supernatural Academy Trilogy Book 1) by Tabi Slick is a wonderful read from young adults to adults. This book is better than J.R.R. Tolkien and more lifelike than Harry Potter. Step into a world of the supernatural and read about things that you can only dream of. Tabi Sick is a wonderful author who, not only knows how to write, but will keep you seated and reading until the end. From normal to supernatural is way beyond amazing and how she transitions the characters into the roles is just mind boggling.

My Review:
This is the first book I’ve read by Tabi Slick. Tompkin’s School is about Izara and her brother Kain who are sent to a boarding school in Oklahoma because they clash with their father’s new mistress. At this point Izzy and Kain seem perfectly normal teens, but when they get to Tompkin’s school strange things begin to happen to both of them. I loved that the plot was so fast moving yet didn’t feel rushed, and I got to enjoy this thrilling ride with the twins and their friends. Can’t wait for the next one!

4 Stars
What happens when you find out that your nightmares are actually real? This becomes true for Izara and Kain when they are sent to a boarding school in the middle of Oklahoma. The twins soon realize that the school is keeping a deadly secret, it is not everything that it claims to be. Powers emerge that they didn’t know they possessed. They need to unravel the mysteries of the school if they want to stay alive and time is running out.
This is a debut novel for this author and I think it’s a good start. There is some fine tuning that needs to be done but I think that she is an author to look out for in the future. I found the story to be unique and intriguing. The author never really explains exactly what the twins are and this is one of the things that kept me interested. I liked the characters a lot though I think there needs to be a little more character development in book two. I believe this will be an interesting trilogy and I’m looking forward to reading part two.

Tompkin’s School for the Extraordinarily Talented (A Supernatural Academy Trilogy Book 1) by Tabi Slick
This book is the first in the supernatural young adult series about twins, Izara and Kain, as they enter a new boarding school in Oklahoma. Secrets unfold and there are secrets uncovered about the school and those that attend it now, as well as those in the distant past. This book had a little of everything. There were supernatural abilities, mind control, shape shifting creatures, inner demons, time traveling, mystery, drama, danger and a bit of young love. The story was original and not what I expected overall. The author described the characters environment, thoughts, powers, and feelings in great detail. There was a lot going on to keep you interested and turning the pages.

5-Stars
Tompkin’s School: For The Extraordinarily Talented (A Supernatural Academy Trilogy Book 1) by Tabi Slick was an extraordinary read. First off, I loved that the setting for this story was in Oklahoma. The author did an excellent job of bringing it to life in this fictional novel. She gave the various scenery great detail and made it easy to visualize.
Secondly, I loved main characters Izzy and Kain. Their names were unique and easy to use. They were both fun and I loved their sibling bond. The story was told more from Izzy’s point of view but she allowed both characters to really shine. I enjoyed watching them grow and develop as the storyline progressed. They endured quite a lot after moving to the Academy. If you are looking for an excellent paranormal/young adult novel, this is it. I highly recommend it.
Izara has just entered this extraordinary school. Kain is her twin when they enter this school strsnge things seem to happen. The writing style is very simple and easy to follow. The twins are like polars of each other. This book is enjoyable for YA fantasy lovers.
I enjoyed this book. It is a young adult story about two people who are sent to boarding school. It is a special kind of school, only for the highly talented to go there. I found this book to be a little slow in the beginning but once it picked up, it took off and I had a hard time putting it down. The characters are great and I had no issues connecting with them. This story is about two young adults that seem to be normal until strange things begin to happen to them. They seem to have some special powers and now someone wants them and not for good either. This is an enjoyable story that keeps you engaged. I highly recommend this book.
This is a really good story with lots of twists and turns, some of which are absolutely heart-stopping. It’s the story of Izara and her journey of discovery of truth about herself and her twin brother, Kain, as they confront a world they had never dreamed of.The story has some incredibly dark moments, so I’d recommend it for an audience of 16+ years of age, but it also has strong elements of hope despite the odds.
The characters are relatable and very engaging. As a reader, I didn’t always like Izara or Kain, but that actually made them more believable and intriguing.
The book ended on a cliffhanger, so it wasn’t satisfying in the sense of getting answers or resolution, but it definitely whets the appetite for the next instalment!
I want more of Tompkin’s Academy!
