This is a great start to a delightful new series. The characters are well defined and quite likable, although I am reserving judgment on the likability of a character introduced near the end of the book. This story doesn’t slow down and neither does Allison. If she isn’t visiting her husband at the nursing home, she is walking her foster dog and trying to find his forever home, or trying to clear the roommate of the woman who was murdered. And, if she isn’t doing one of those things, she is trying to ferret out her husband’s memories from the books in the library. It is a pleasure to read such a fun book and know that I won’t find any bad language or sex scenes. The plot is clever and well executed. I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys cozies and who doesn’t mind a wee pinch of magic.
