How exactly has one good deed landed me in the penalty box? Ice Knights defenseman Zach Blackburn has come down with the flu, and my BFF–his PR manager–begs me to put my nursing degree to use and get him back to health. Of course she would call in a favor for the most hated man in Harbor City. But when he’s finally on the mend and I’m sneaking out of his place, everything goes sideways. … goes sideways. Paparazzi spot me and pictures, plus accusations that I slept with him, fly faster than a hockey puck.
At first, all of Harbor City wants my blood–or to give me a girlie-girl makeover. But then…the team finally wins a game. And now this fickle town wants me with the big jerk twenty-four seven.
Argh. I never slept with him the first time! But no one will listen. Then the grumpy bastard goes and promises to break his no-fan-appearances rule to help raise money for a free health clinic–but only if I’m rink-side at every game. That’s not a deal I can turn down.
But when the team keeps winning, and I realize there’s more to him than his bad reputation, suddenly remembering to keep my real hands off my fake date gets harder and harder to do.

What do you get when you mix the most hated man in Harbor City with a takes no bull nurse. You get sparks, funny banter, and a really great book!
Zach is a man who has been so hurt in the past he has learned to not let anyone in. He is an island both on and off the ice. This doesn’t make him a very fun guy to be around. However when he gets sick his PR manager calls in a huge favor. Zach has no interest in have a nurse around and will do anything get get rid of her.
I can’t even put into words how much I enjoyed this book. These two were so much fun to read about. They are both grouchy and opinionated that it made me laugh. In the beginnings when Zach is trying to get rid of Fallon and he underestimates her while trying to either gross her out or seduce her but she is able to see right through him.
What interested me the most was seeing what was under the exterior of Zach. This man was hurting. Not really realizing to what extend until I read the part of Zach meeting Fallon’s family for the first time and seeing how families SHOULD act. This broke my heart for him.
I liked the character of Fallon. She was someone who believes she is right and had no problem telling you. The part that I enjoyed the most was her grown in this book. Towards the end, she does something that in her heart of hearts she thinks is the right thing to do but doesn’t really take into account other’s feelings and almost costs her everything. I liked the reflection it forced her to have. While I don’t think this is going to change her as a person, It might make her stop and think a little more.
The funny banter and sexy times were off the charts in this book. I am really enjoying this series.
Avery Flynn keeps getting better and better! Tomboy is sharp and smartly funny. I love a brooding hero, and Zach fits the bill perfectly. I loved every word!
