Marine officer. CIA analyst. President. Jack Ryan has devoted his life to protecting the United States. What if this time, he can’t? President Ryan and the Campus return in this entry in Tom Clancy’s #1 New York Times-bestselling series.Freedom may have finally arrived in Iran. As protests break out across the country, the media rejoices over the so-called Persian Spring. Western leaders are … so-called Persian Spring. Western leaders are ecstatic. Members of Congress and the Cabinet clamor to back the rebels. Only President Jack Ryan remains wary.
Meanwhile, he has plenty to handle at home. A deadly strain of flu is ravaging the United States as spring floods decimate the Southeast. An unethical senator wants to bring down the Ryan presidency and is willing to lean on fabricated bot-planted stories to do it.
But the scariest story is the most closely guarded one. Two Russian nuclear missiles have been hijacked. The Campus gets their first break when Jack Junior connects with a rogue Russian intelligence officer in Afghanistan–only to be abducted soon after arriving. John Clark and the rest of the Campus team race to track the missiles and rescue their colleague.
As sensationalized stories spin out of control and the stolen missiles remain out of reach, President Ryan’s toughest challenge emerges: How do you meet an enemy head on, when he won’t even show you his face?

Clancy and the new ghost writers do another great job of weaving myriad loose ends into an exciting and spell binding read.
“Oath of Office” was action-packed and had wonderful characters. As usual with Tom Clancey’s books it left you waiting for the next in the series to come out.
Another great book!!!! Highly recommend it.
Disappointing
Clancy’s Jack Ryan character is a reluctant hero.
I like Tom Clancy stories. But too much fluff. I tend to skip side stories and I enjoy the books better.
The bottom line with a Clancy story is multiple issues running all at the same time all around the World. This is never disappointing! Great read!
Very scattered. Not easy to read.
The whole Jack Ryan series is consistently a good read. If you enjoy espionage the series is for you.
Great read, as always.
Marc Cameron is an exceptional writer and I thoroughly enjoyed his version of Tom Clancy’s former great writing. I have read a lot of his books and enjoyed most of them.
Tom is a great author. Always hard to put down
It is a slow moving book totally unlike previous works.
Terrifying
Love Tom Clancy!!!! Another exciting edge of seat thriller! Highly recommend!!!!!
Tom Clancy being Tom Clancy. However, this story had too many different characters, bouncing around so much it was hard to keep track of where the story was at.
Almost like reading Tom again!
Very Enjoyable! Action packed spy/political thriller with lots of twists and turns. Very entertaining read!
Typical Clancy, a bit( maybe a lot) too long but very well constructed and written.
I am a huge fan of Tom Clancy and Oath of Office by Mark Cameron is a fitting addition to his Jack Ryan series. As usual the plot moves at a breakneck speed with the action spanning the globe and we catch up with familiar names such as John Clark and Ding Chavez who, after seeing their personas grow and develop throughout the other books in the series, are almost like old friends as well as the introduction of new characters who I’m sure will pop up again in future books. The chapters are broken down into sections so the reader doesn’t become overwhelmed by too much technical jargon at the one time and this also helps keep you interested. If I had one complaint about the book and it’s definitely a personal niggle rather than anything else, it would be the character of Michelle Chadwick, Jack Ryan SNP’s main protagonist at home. For some reason whenever the book came to a part involving her, I felt I was reading about a pantomime baddie and could almost hear the booing and hissing inside my head.
Not the best Jack Ryan book, but ok. Slow reading especially at first. But with its’ faults it is still an ok read
