Everyone has demons, and for Nick, she’s a blonde-haired, gray-eyed siren who won’t give him the time of day. Nick’s the whole package—loyal, hardworking, and he’s got a heart-stopping smile that could make any girl swoon. But he’s been thrown more than a few curveballs in the romance department. For years, Nick’s been fighting his feelings for a certain bad girl, despite their messy history. … despite their messy history. Little does he know, Fate has a few more surprises in store for him, and Bethany’s only the beginning.
In the small town of Saratoga Falls, reputations are hard to shake, something Bethany knows first-hand. She likes to party and let loose, but that’s not who she is. Juggling college exams, a dysfunctional family, and an Autistic brother she’d do anything for, keeps her plenty busy. So when she’s forced to work with the one guy who’s always gotten under her skin, it’s all she can do to keep her focus.
Despite their past, Nick is determined to show Bethany that she’s wrong about him—about them. The Goonies, a hot-fudge sundae, and a late-night study session might be just enough to prove things don’t always have to be so damned complicated.
Told You So is a story about love’s imperfections and triumphs, about following your heart, especially when it’s not easy, and a testament that everything is better with pickles.

I loved this book! It was nice to get to know Bethany and understand what caused her to be the way she was.
The third story in this super good series! Start at the beginning & you won’t be disappointed! Great for all romance lovers! Be warned this is not just a happy ending!
Told You So is book three in A Saratoga Falls Love Story series by Lindsey Pogue. This is the last book of this series as it currently stands. We’ve gotten to know Sam, Mac and Nick in these three books and managed to fall in love with them. Now we finally get Nick’s story and things are most definitely not as they would seem.
Nick Turner always seemed like the happy go lucky one, the never ending source of support for his two best friends. He would do whatever he could to help, no matter the situation. Nick is working as a bartender at night but by day is in his final semester of college to get his architectural degree. The plan all along was to go to work for his father. Only the closer he got to graduation, the more his father pulled back from the plan. The relationship he enjoyed with his father is more and more a thing of the past. Their weekly family dinners more and more of an awkward nightmare. He can’t figure out what in the world is going on, except that he is beginning to wonder if he wasted his entire college career on a degree he wasn’t going to use.
The Bethany Fairchild we met in the previous two books was the mean girl. I so grew to dislike her. But it became more and more obvious that there was so much more to Bethany. A life that from the outside might have seemed ideal was in reality, nothing like that at all. Both of her parents were devoted to their careers, leaving Bethany to care for her eleven year old autistic brother who she loved with all her heart. She would do anything for him. Bethany is also a double major in college. She is majoring in both design and psychology. She is barely hanging on. She has one class with Nick.
Bethany and Nick have known each other all their lives. There has always been a weird connection between them. Over the years, they would have instances where they would come together but then something always happened that pulled them back apart, mostly misconceptions between them, lost chances to communicate.
“Whatever the back and forth between us has been over the years, the misconceptions and the run-ins and arguments we’ve had, it’s all come at a cost: distraction, curiosity, a slew of unanswered questions and an inexplicable desire.”
The class Bethany and Nick share throws them together for a big final project. As much as Bethany doesn’t want to add this to her pile of stress, Nick is viewing it as a chance to finally explore what this thing is between them. To hash out the issues that have stacked up over the years. To get to know the real Bethany and see if there was something here that was worth exploring.
“Nick and I are oxygen to a flame, combustible and all-consuming. Whether it’s hatred or desire, the end result would be the same. He would ruin me, and I’m barely holding on as it is.”
Both Bethany and Nick are facing toxic family situations at home while trying to struggle through this last semester of college. Then they both have to face choices as an adult as to what they want to do next. The attraction between them grows stronger and instead of being a source of stress, becomes a source of strength as they join forces.
This was such a good book and explained so much. It is told from both Bethany and Nick’s POV and also jumps to the past occasionally to give us more of their history. You can read this as a stand alone but some of Bethany’s history also includes Nick’s friend, Sam which is all explained in the first book. So even though you aren’t required to read that book, it would all mean more to you if you knew the history before hand.
The epilogue really wrapped everything up for these three friends and left me with such a happy feeling. The author says that the series is finished…for now. She is leaving that door cracked open just in case she decides more of the residents of Saratoga Falls need their story told.
