“Brilliant, hilarious, and oh-so-romantic.” –BuzzFeed “Swoony, steamy.” –Entertainment Weekly The Hating Game meets Booksmart by way of Morgan Matson in this unforgettable romantic comedy about two rival overachievers whose relationship completely transforms over the course of twenty-four hours. Today, she hates him. It’s the last day of senior year. Rowan Roth and Neil McNair have been … him.
It’s the last day of senior year. Rowan Roth and Neil McNair have been bitter rivals for all of high school, clashing on test scores, student council elections, and even gym class pull-up contests. While Rowan, who secretly wants to write romance novels, is anxious about the future, she’d love to beat her infuriating nemesis one last time.
Tonight, she puts up with him.
When Neil is named valedictorian, Rowan has only one chance at victory: Howl, a senior class game that takes them all over Seattle, a farewell tour of the city she loves. But after learning a group of seniors is out to get them, she and Neil reluctantly decide to team up until they’re the last players left–and then they’ll destroy each other.
As Rowan spends more time with Neil, she realizes he’s much more than the awkward linguistics nerd she’s sparred with for the past four years. And, perhaps, this boy she claims to despise might actually be the boy of her dreams.
Tomorrow…maybe she’s already fallen for him.

It was a good and light read after reading a fantasy or heavy read book. It was kind of cute at the end but I can’t say it was worth the read.
This one spoke to me on multiple levels, from Rowan’s love of romance novels despite those closest to her not getting it, to the whole competitive high school nerd thing. 😀
This is the third YA book I’ve read from Rachel Lynn Solomon and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s funny, whimsical, realistic and down to earth, like all of Rachel’s books are. I would highly recommend!
OMG, this book was soooooooooooooo cute. Yes it deserves all the o’s. Also, all the stars. If you’re looking for the perfect gift for romance lovers this holiday season, whether teen or adult, grab this book!
One of my absolute favorites of 2020.
Barnes and Noble YA book club choice for August (September meeting) 2020.
Today Tonight Tomorrow is a hatemance between two high school overachievers set in Seattle on the last day of senior year.
Rowan in an aspiring romance novel writer who realizes too late that she hasn’t done anything off of a list she wrote when she was 14. Neil is her rival overachiever who she knows very little about even though they text each other every morning and belong to all the same clubs. When the school puts on its annual senior scavenger hunt (and war) they will team up and learn everything they need to know about their nemesis of four years.
Although sometimes I thought Rowan’s secret love of romance novels and desire to write them was blown way out of proportion to make the plot work I related to this aspect of her life so much. I ALSO did a book report on a romance novel my freshman year (Danielle Steele) and a boy in my class never got tired of making fun of me for it. There were a few moments her lectures on the feminism of romance novels got a little preachy and overstated but I appreciated the idea that all the things women enjoy (reality shows, romance novels, boy bands, soap operas etc) are portrayed in pop culture as somehow lesser and “guilty pleasures”.
I found Today Tonight Tomorrow to be a fun and sexy romp through Seattle and I highly recommend it to contemporary YA fans.
Super cute scenes between the main characters! Great for people new to the romance genre.
Today Tonight Tomorrow is the first book by Rachel Lynn Solomon that I have read, and her writing is different in a beautiful way. I can’t put my finger on precisely what it is about her writing style that I liked, other to say that it was fresh and honest. I went into this book, not knowing much about it other than it was a young adult book. If I am sincere in the beginning, I didn’t like this book. However, very slowly, this book crept into my heart and made me smile.
Rowan Roth and Neil McNair have been at odds with each other since the first day of high school. At the end of four years, they are still at odds with each other. They have fought tooth and nail for every academic accolade.
“The essay contest that started it all…First place, McNair and his beloved Fitzgerald, second place Roth. I vow to beat him at whatever comes next.”
Now the ultimate prize, valedictorian, lies within both of their reaches. But yet again, Rowan is bested by “McNightmare” when he is awarded, valedictorian. Rowan, however, is not a girl who is about to give up. There is one prize still to be won, Howl. Howl is the final senior challenge, a scavenger hunt of sorts with a twist that takes them all over the city of Seattle looking for clues while at the same time eliminate one another. During this game, Roth and McNair reluctantly team up, and that is when the fun begins. “And it’s there, on the fourth floor of the library, watching my nemesis take slow sips of ginger ale, that I have a horrifying realization. Neil…is cute.”
What made this book enjoyable is the dynamics between Roth and McNair. We know from the beginning what will happen between these two, but that’s okay; it’s the journey these two experiences that make this book fun. They start off tossing barbs at each other, and then little by little; they start sharing secrets, hopes, and dreams. Over twenty-four hours, these two archenemies learn about themselves, but they learn about each other in a way they never thought possible.
“’ Earth-shattering,’ he says…He kisses the top of my head. ‘well, yes, but I meant you.’”
Today Tonight Tomorrow is a sweet, funny coming of age book slash rom-com that takes these two characters from enemies to friends to lovers. This book did a fantastic job conveying all the crazy mixed-up feelings that teens now have to deal with in such an endearing way. Today Tonight Tomorrow is like a big hug that wraps around your heart and mind. I highly recommend you read this book; you will not be disappointed.

This book delighted me in so many ways. I loved the dynamic between Rowan and Neil, two people obsessed with each other, although they take that obsession in different directions. I loved how real Rowan’s friendships felt with her two BFFs, and I loved her parents. As for Neil’s parents, I loved how Rachel Lynn Solomon surprised me.
There aren’t many other surprises here, but where I’m typically disappointed when an author telegraphs plot twists, I wasn’t this time because I was so captivated by Rowan and Neil, particularly their flaws. They’re teenagers, so they are loath to acknowledge such flaws until forced, and I eagerly anticipated how Solomon would show that.
Rowan’s relationship with her two best friends is so well drawn that it made me cry. Solomon perfectly captures that sense when two of three pair up, leaving the third feeling left out. I felt for Rowan, and I also wanted to shout at her to recognize her role in what happened.
This book is delightful and perfect for teens looking to be entertained.
This is my first time reading a book by Rachel Lynn Solomon, but it will definitely not be my last. Rowan and Neal had me grinning from ear to ear. These two are beyond adorable, and ooze chemistry. I don’t tend to read YA books, but I’m so glad I decided to pick up Today, Tonight, Tomorrow. This is a slow burn romance that is worth the wait.
Rowan and Neal are high school rivals who are always trying to one up each other. This has led to them coming in first and second to each other for the entirety of their high school career. Tired of their antics a number of their classmates have decided to join forces and ensure they don’t win the final competitive game for their senior class, Howl! Rowan and Neal join forces and this day together changes everything.
The attraction between Rowan and Neal was clearly always there below the competition and drive. It is finally the right time for the both of them to acknowledge these feelings. It was a perfect portrayal of first love and not knowing what will come next.
This book grabbed me from the get-go. It’s one of those that even though I knew one of the let-downs from reading the synopsis, the fact that she isn’t going to win valedictorian, I still got tears in my eyes and totally felt the sadness right along with Rowan. Of course it was impossible for me not to adore her with her love of romance, and writing a romance novel, and even the way those around her acted about the romance genre. All of those things are true for not only me, but for any romance lover honestly. The whole story is really from Rowan’s point of view, even though we do get one or two extra things, lists, notes, etc., from Neil’s point of view. And while I kind of wish we’d gotten both sides, not knowing exactly what he was doing or why he was doing certain things really added to the drama and suspense of the story. There was one twist that I kind of called early on. But I won’t mention it, because I don’t want to ruin anything for you before you read it.
Overall it was such a fun story, a lot of realistic things in the way they acted or things they did. It also reminded me of what a neat city Seattle is, and would definitely be a fun place to go back again and enjoy the things I didn’t get to do last time.
I had to share the cool postcards I got when the publisher sent me this ARC, so those are the perfect images you see that I interspersed within the synopsis in my original blog post. This is definitely a wonderful story and one I’ll be sure to purchase for my school library where I work as soon as I get the chance!
Today Tonight Tomorrow was a really fun enemies to lovers YA contemporary romance between two classmates, Rowan and Neil, who have spent their entire high school experience trying to out do each other. Rowan is giving one last chance to outshine Neil even if they have to team up to do it but the more time she spends with him the more she realizes maybe her feelings towards him aren’t as negative as she thought.
This book took one of my favorite romance genres , enemies to lovers, and executed it perfectly in a YA setting. Our main characters are fantastic. Rowan is determined but a little bit of a mess but in the way all seniors end up being by the end of the year, making her so relatable. Neil was a complete sweetheart and I could perfectly picture his shy smiles and embarrassed blushes against all his freckles. Their banter back and forth made me chuckle, and their slow burn romance gave me butterflies. Ahh first loves {{sigh}}
Today Tonight Tomorrow is a well-rounded YA romance. The format of the book having text messages, fliers, and even school reports made the reading fun. Also, with Rowan being in love with romance novels and both her and Neil being Jewish, the story is really sex positive and has wonderful Jewish representation.
