To Wed a Wild Scot is the second book in the Besotted Scots series but can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read the first book, but it looks interesting. Lady Juliana’s father is dying, and he has changed his will so if Juliana does not marry her niece will go to a cruel man. The Duke of Blackmore “Fitz” has gone to Scotland and was not responding to her letters. He is her last hope of marriage and saving her niece before her father dies. Logan (Fitz’s brother) has been stopping her letters from reaching Fitz and tried to keep her from finding Kinross. When Lady Juliana sees Logan, she realizes he must be related to Fitz and follows him to Kinross. Upon discovering that Fitz is engaged to another women Juliana insist that Logan marry her to save her niece. I loved the storyline and the characters were great. Seeing them grow from enemies to lovers and overcoming all the misunderstandings was entertaining. I think I will have to read the first book since it gets such great reviews. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
To Wed a Wild Scot
Besotted Scots book2
by Anna Bradley
What an amazing continuation to the series! What do you get when two forces of nature collide? Instant explosion that’s what, Logan is sooooo the perfect Scots man, rugged, sexy, brooding and stubborn! Just when he thinks he’s doing a good deed for the greater good of his clan, it has a negative ripple effect. And the ripple just spilled over on Juliana! Well Juliana is by no means an English society wallflower, she has spunk in spades and of course is just as stubborn as Logan. Their chemistry is hot and off the charts from the get go.
As always Ms. Bradley has done an exceptional job and I look forward to readiing her next release. I recieved a complimentary copy from the author via NetGalley. This is my honest unbiased opinion.
Another winner from one of the strongest voices in Regency romance today! Loved this story!
Talking about falling for the wrong brother……Julianna and Logan take this to the next level. He will do anything to save his clan. She will do anything to keep her niece. The two together could do more harm than good. Fun read

To Wed a Wild Scot by Anna Bradley is book 2 in the Besotted Scots Series. This is the story of Logan Blair and Juliana Bernard. I have read (and Loved!) the previous book, but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Julian has guardianship of her Niece but that won’t be for long unless she marries. Which her last hope is her friend Fitzwilliam but she finds that he is already engaged. Julian finds out that his brother Logan had some hands in that engagement. So what choice does she have but to marry Logan, which she will do anything to save her niece.
I really enjoyed their story and ‘watching’ how Logan and Juliana came to be. Ms. Bradley is one of my very favorite authors!
He was a man on a mission to save his clan. After the English had made a path through Scotland, killing and burning everything in sight, he was determined. But Logan Blair was not really the Laird of Clan Kinross. His twin brother was, who had been taken when young and raised in England by their uncle who had even changed his brother’s name to Fitwilliam.
Years later, Fitzwilliam does go to Scotland, and Logan wants him to step up and marry a Scotish lass which will tie him further to the clan. Fortunately, Logan begins intercepting letters sent to his brother from an English lady in care of a local inn. He sees she is wanting them to get married and he will have none of it and destroys the correspondence.
Lady Juliana Bernard, has to get married as quickly as possible so she can have custody of her six year old niece. Fitz was her best friend and they had been bethrothed since childhood so she kept writing to him to let him know. Unfortunately he had not answered her last letter with her urgent plea.
So she sets out for Scotland to find him! Headstrong and determined, Juliana comes upon Logan by chance at an Inn on her way. Wait, what? this man who looks like dear Fitz but has a Scottish Burr? Plus he looks a little harder around the mouth. No, what is going on? Then she sees him burning one of her letters at the Inn she has been sending them to! No wonder!
Let the adventure begin!
So she demands Logan marry her. Oh yes, and the sparks begin to fly. Yes their attraction is high but there are other emotions that come out. Can these two ever come together and trust each other?
Absolutely loved this story and Anna Bradley always grabs me with her writing and her strong characters. Although this can be read as a standalone, I encourage you to read the first book. You will be happy you did! Excellent!!
The Sassy Lassie
From page one I couldn’t put it down. It’s one of the best books I’ve read in a long long time.
I laughed out loud so often just in the first few chapters. When my family ask me what was so funny all I would tell them was The Sassy Lassie, they told me to go read in another room.
The descriptions of everything rich in detail just brought the book to life for me. I can only imagine the first time Juliana saw Logan. I didn’t like Logan in the beginning after all the grief he caused Juliana but he redeemed himself early in the book. I can’t say enough good about To Wed a Wild Scot without spoilers. I laughed, cried even cringed a little but mostly I read as fast as I could. My only disappointment was it came to its happy ever after so I’ll just say if you enjoy a good romance you won’t be disappointed.

Lady Juliana Bernard had been betrothed twice and both times it was canceled. But since her brother and sister in law were killed at least there was Grace. You could not find a sweeter child. Her father put a clause in his will that for her to keep Grace she must be married. Her best friend has gone to Scotland and she is following.
He and his twin had been separated as babies. Gavin the oldest went to England to be raised by his maternal uncle, the Duke of Blackmore. They changed his brother’s name, Fitzwilliam Vaughn. The problem was the English who owned the land were burning and driving their farmers off so they could settle sheep on the land instead. Some had been there for centuries. Logan Blair being the youngest actually had nothing. But with his brother’s absent the people called him Laird and he took care of his people.
I loved this book. Juliana didn’t care what the ton thought of her. Such as she took a very long trip without a chaperone. She spoke her mind and was firey. The author was great with all the twists and turns, the problems they had to face. The interaction between the characters. The beauty of the surroundings. It kept your interest and begging for more. There are some sexy scenes, so be aware. I very highly recommend this novel and I am glad I got a chance to read it.

1814: Strathnaver, Scotland
The Countess of Sutherland sends her factor to burn homes with the families still in them, driving the farmers from their lands and clearing the way for sheep. Logan Blair, considered the Laird of Clan Kinross, travels north to see the devastation and aftermath. The lairds are now more English, like the Duke of Blackmore, Logan’s maternal uncle, who has never seen his land and doesn’t understand what is happening. Logan has a twin brother he has never seen, or spoken to, as he was taken to England as a babe. His brother was christened Gavin Blair but goes by Fitzwilliam Vaughn as he is the heir.
1816: The factor who burned and killed the Scots was found not guilty. Logan is determined that the English will not destroy Clan Kinross.
1818: Lady Juliana Bernard and her companion have left England and are headed to Inverness. She is worried about her dear friend, Fitzwilliam, as she hasn’t heard from him lately. When they stop at an inn on the way she meets a man who looks like Fitz. She sees Logan again in Inverness and decides to follow him to his castle. He knows he is being followed and catches her. She expects to marry Fitz, but he’s engaged, and his fiancée is pregnant. Logan is not so happy to have her there. After she helps with the sheep and saves a lamb, he learns to appreciate her. He marries her as he’s learned she must be wed to have custody of her orphaned niece.
There is a lot more going on while they’re learning about each other and the child they will raise together. I loved this book and hope you will try it.
Book two in the Besotted Scots series a well written story with a very good storyline the story flowed smoothly from page to page. This is Lady Juliana Bernard and Logan Blair the Laird of Clan Kinross’ story of everything that can go wrong does for these two and Logan is the most to blame. I want to read the next book in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the second book in the Besotted Scot series. I am a big fan of Anna Bradley and really enjoy her writing style.
Others have already summarized the plot, so I won’t repeat it.
The H and h were both very strong willed and intelligent. I loved the interaction between the two. Yes, there were numerous misunderstandings, but I enjoy a bit of strife.
It’s no fun when things are too easy in a romance novel. I want to see the characters growth and development, and that’s what happened here. Their HEA was that much sweeter for the challenges that they faced.
I would definitely recommend any of Anna Bradley’s books if you are looking for well researched, relatable and interesting storylines.

Available for purchase on 9-17-19, To Wed A Wild Scott is Anna Bradley’s second book in the new Besotted Scots series. Offered up for our reading pleasure are Lady Julianna Bernard and Logan Blair, Laird of Clan Kinross. Ms Bradley gives us rather vivid mental pictures of the wildness and beauty of the Scottish Highlands. The entire country is somewhat of a dichotomy, and also an antinomy. There can be beauty in the wildness and wildness in the beauty. This can be applied to our couple. Both strong, stubborn, determined people and yet scared, unsure, and unable to speak their minds. Normal in most people but taken to extremes in Juliana and Logan. Instant attraction doesn’t always lead to a smooth relationship. These two are complex and sometimes wearing down.
Logan’s twin brother was taken away to England as an infant; they don’t remember each other. One is Laird and one is Duke, of the same land and people. Their relationship alone could fill an entire book. Lady Juliana has been BFF’s with Fitz, the twin, all her life. Their families hoped they would wed, Juliana has already let another man off the hook. Her kind actions have circled back around to become a nightmare. She needs a husband to retain custody of her niece. She travels all over and does un-ladylike things to try and save Grace. It leaves her fierce and shaken at the same time; she’s a bundle of nerves and a hot mess. Our couple have to come to terms with the fact that only Logan can save the situation, neither really wants this. It takes so long to work through their feelings & finally have a meaningful talk that I was beginning to wonder at it all. They are lovely people, to be commended on their sense of family, duty, and love. I’m glad they get an HEA. Nice people should always win and find a lasting love. Instant attraction really should be rewarded. Happy reading

I love this story. A lady who is going to do what she has to . Go where she has to, and no one is getting in her way. Except she a nice person and doesn’t want to get in the way of her friends true love. I really enjoyed this book the author does spin an entertaining story.
Juliana needs to get married quickly to not lose custody of her niece. She decides to marry Logan, though they dislike and don’t trust each other. Lots of chemistry in these complex interesting characters. Good story with lots of twists and turns.
I received this book from Netgalley Spoiler alert… this is a breath-taking, , beautiful, sweet romantic story. Anna Bradley has outdone herself again. From the very start, she has her readers captivated with her vivid descriptions and spectacular writing. Her characters become one with us and we feel each emotion as if we are experiencing them ourselves. Logan and Juliana learn the importance of the strength that comes from love and the importance of talking things through rather than keeping them bottled up. They learn of their inner strengths and that not all attributes of strength are physical. A must read!
4.5 Stars
Lady Juliana Bernard is in a bind she must find a husband at once or lose guardianship of her beloved niece Grace. Her childhood friend Fitz the Duke of Blackmore is her last, best hope, but once she tracks him down in Scotland, she receives startling news.

This is the second book in the series we met Juliana in the first book but it’s not necessary to have read it as this book can easily be read on its own. Logan & Juliana clash continually even though the attraction is there & they are the last to realise that they love each other. Whilst both strong characters they also have their insecurities that all too often surface. A loved Juliana’s feistiness & her rescue of Fiona was hugely entertaining. A well written engrossing read that I thoroughly enjoyed. I did wonder what had happened to Miss Findlay after Juliana abandoned her.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Lady Juliana Bernard is in a bind, he father is dying and thanks to the interference of a spurned suitor, has changed his will, Juliana will only retain custody of her orphaned niece Grace if she is married, if not Grace’s guardianship will be given to Lord Cowden. Having let her betrothed go so he could marry for love and desperate to make sure Cowden doesn’t get custody, Juliana writes to her dearest friend and former betrothed, Fitzwilliam “Fitz” Vaugh, the Duke of Blackmore. When her letters go unanswered, Juliana sets out to find him in Scotland.
After days of travel, they finally make it to the Scottish border in Gretna Green, weary and filthy Juliana is stunned to see Fitz at the inn – but closer examination reveals that it is not Fitz and when the man asks if she is alright, it is clear he is Scottish, but he looks exactly like Fitz and she decides he must be related and follows him. 3 days later, she is sure she is right when he stops at the inn that she sends her letters to Fitz – and watches in horror as the man reads her letter and then burns it! Then as he is leaving she hears him telling the innkeeper that if an English lady shows up, to send her back to England. Furious, Juliana follows him to the castle. He realizes he is being followed and is shocked to learn she is the woman who has been writing to Fitz.
Logan Blair is Fitzwilliam’s younger twin brother, when their mother died giving birth, their uncle claimed Fitz as his heir and returned to England – Logan did no see his brother for 28 years, but once his uncle died, Fitz made his way to Scotland to be reunited. Logan has acted as Laird for years since their father died and is worried that Fitz will do what so many English landowner have done and “clear’ the lands – for years Logan has been working to protect his people, by relocating them. And when Fitz came to the castle, Logan encouraged him to become betrothed to a local girl, Emilia – thinking that he would be less inclined to evict people if he was married to a Scottish girl – so he has been burning Fitz’s letters from Juliana, he wants nothing to interfere with his plans. But when she shows up he has no choice but to take her to see Fitz.
Fitz is appalled when he learns what Logan has done and offers to marry Juliana. But Logan tells Juliana that Fitz is already betrothed and his future wife is pregnant – leading Juliana to inform Logan that she will have to marry him instead, a solution that Logan is vehemently opposed to – leading Fitz to have to get involved.
This was a well written, fast read, but I can’t say that I loved it, it was OK, but I really didn’t like Logan at the beginning, I understood his motivation, but his refusal to marry her after interfering and burning their letters was a complete jerk move and then later jumping to conclusions and seemingly forced misunderstandings just really dimished my enjoyment in the story. This is the second book in the series, but it can easily be read as a stand-alone title.
*I am voluntarily leaving a review for an eARC that was provided to me by NetGalley and the publisher.*
The Highland Clearances as a background seems to be trending in current historical romance novels. This is the fifth I’ve read in the past year. In this case it serves as the impetus for the hero Logan to behave as he does, intercepting letters, for the well-being of his clansmen.
Lady Juliana’s goal in the story is to secure a marriage and thus the guardianship of her late brother’s daughter, Grace. If she does not succeed, her father has named an unrelated (nasty) male rather than Grace’s perfectly appropriate maternal uncle as guardian. (What?) The old man may be ill and confused, but still.
At times Juliana is bold, at others quite insecure, worrying and fretting over her relationship with Logan. After the pair spend a well-chaperoned night in a tenant’s home, Logan’s brother Fitz pressures Logan “to do the right thing” to protect her reputation; struck me as rather hypocritical as Fitz’s betrothed is pregnant and they seem not to be in a rush to wed.
Gaelic terms of endearment are liberally distributed throughout the story. In the epilogue their meanings are playfully revealed, as well as in a glossary at the end.
I received an ARC from the publisher via netgalley; the thoughts expressed are my own.
When I saw the beautiful eBook cover and read the book information I had high hopes for the story. Unfortunately it didn’t quite get there for me. Even though I liked the main characters, it was kind of slow for quite a few times. It did have some good moments as well but just not enough for me to get really pulled in and stay that way.
I did like that Juliana had a determined, strong part to her that the situations (and Logan) forced to the forefront. She was a tiny, beautiful woman seen by many as decorative; a “diamond of the first water”. She’d even begun to believe it herself until her intense love for her niece Grace is more important than anything else. That fierceness leads her to quite the adventures.
Logan has his own brand of fierceness. He also had a stubbornness that often causes him “to cut off his nose to spite his face.” It’s a good thing that he also has many good qualities as well. One of them is that like Juliana when he loves he does it fiercely. He fiercely loves the people of his clan.
There is several good secondary people in the story. Some even added a bit of humor.
On the downside, it felt like a bit too much described marital sex. And there was fair amount of the Scottish phrases thrown in. After a while I stopped looking them up although the author had included a Gaelic Glossary in the back of the book.
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
Swoon Worthy! Characters that will touch your heart and soul with a romance that will leave you breathless. But I was also taken by the research and history of this time period that Ms. Bradley included in this story, making it so realistic and giving the reader a true sense of what travesties happened, and how it affected the Clans in Scotland.
Enthralled from the first page this story pulled me in with a story that is steeped in history and a realistic dislike of anything English by the Scottish Clans after what they have witnessed and endured.
I swooned hard for Logan, Laird of Clan Kinross. Logan will do anything he has to do, to protect his clan and they respect and love him for all that he does for them. But soon his identical twin brother Fitzwilliam who has been raised in England his entire life will be coming and he will not let even his brother destroy his Clan.
Lady Juliana Bernard, is beside herself. she must be married in order to get custody of her niece Grace. She travels hundreds of miles when Fitzwilliam doesn’t reply to her letters. They have been betrothed since birth and she needs him now. But when she sees a man that looks just like him, when they stop for the night, she follows him to find Fitzwilliam. But her betrothed now belongs to another and Logan is responsible for it all.
Logan and Lady Juliana interactions are exhilarating, deliciously romantic, dreamy and seductive. These characters are perfect for each other. A true masterpiece, that was exhilarating, with writing so truly beautiful that it will stays with you long after you put this book down.
I received an early copy of this book through NetGalley.
