Hiding from a dangerous man, Tess Crawford thought The Wiggons’ School for Elegant Young Ladies would be the perfect place to disappear. Or it would be if the local villagers weren’t on edge because of the vampire in their midst, at least they think he’s a vampire. The fascination with the reclusive viscount disrupts the girls’ studies and Tess fights an unending battle to convince her students … students that monsters do not exist.
Vincent Latimer, Viscount Atwood, is not a vampire, no matter what the villagers believe. He wishes the book, Wake Not the Dead, had never been written. There is a very good reason he visits his wife’s grave at night, and it has nothing to do with trying to raise her from the dead.
When a storm thrusts Tess into Vincent’s path and destroys the school, both of their pasts collide.

This book was well written the plot moved along and there were well developed characters. There were good problems to be solved. Enjoyable read
This was an exciting book that has you rooting for the heros the whole way through. I liked the twists and not knowing how things were going to work out. The three girls needed and good consequence for their meddling, but they were cute.
Good story!!!
I finished this book within a day and a half. It was clever and funny. Definitely interesting. Three stars instead four because it required some editing and wished that they would have gotten to know each more than week before declaring the undying love for each other. Either way a easy read that I could not put down. I laughed and smiled so definitely worth a read.
Did not finish, deleted.
One of the best romance novels I have ever read. It was a romance novel and a thriller at the same time, and the story line and characters were fascinating.
This was really quite good and original. Likeable characters and well-written dialogue. I enjoyed it immensely.
Loved this book. A great page turner could not put it down. Loved the characters and how the girls were always getting into trouble no matter how many times they were told to stop their crazy antics. Loved the ending. A must read.
A very interesting with lots of twists and turns. An enjoyable read.
It was ok. Very predictable, but a little different twist to the usual. Loved the characters.
Entertaining!
I especially liked the gift from the students to the lead male character at the end of the book that changed the way he could lead his life.
Something new under the sun. Although a historical romance, it has interesting and original characters and challenges. A fun and sweet novel. I highly recommend it.
Romance, intrigue, humor…enjoyed!
I really enjoyed this one.
funny concept of young girls jumping to conclusions about the her being a vampire who is trying to bring his dead wife back to life. Some villainy afoot, but funny spots also
I like it when generally formulaic stories break out just a little bit and add a touch of something different. An actual medical affliction (although undefinable in this time period) that explained the hero’s perceived odd behavior. Were girls/students of this time period really this ignorant in regard to the supernatural? I enjoyed it anyway. Just a fun, easy read.
Loved it!
Enjoyed this story which was very different from others I have read. I was delighted that the adults never fell for the vampire fairytale and it was just the young girls with their active imaginations who dared to believe. I also appreciated that the author explained the vampire angle early on but then allowed us to see a real monster in their midst. Great storytelling, likable characters, interesting and humorous.
Histical Romance with a bit of a twist.
I really enjoyed this one! Good intrigue, good story line, great characters … I can’t wait to read more of the series.
