Hiding from a dangerous man, Tess Crawford thought The Wiggons’ School for Elegant Young Ladies would be the perfect place to disappear. Or it would be if the local villagers weren’t on edge because of the vampire in their midst, at least they think he’s a vampire. The fascination with the reclusive viscount disrupts the girls’ studies and Tess fights an unending battle to convince her students … students that monsters do not exist.
Vincent Latimer, Viscount Atwood, is not a vampire, no matter what the villagers believe. He wishes the book, Wake Not the Dead, had never been written. There is a very good reason he visits his wife’s grave at night, and it has nothing to do with trying to raise her from the dead.
When a storm thrusts Tess into Vincent’s path and destroys the school, both of their pasts collide.

Complex characters involved in an intriguing plot – very enjoyable.
Tess Crawford was a pupil at The Wiggons’ School for Elegant Young Ladies along with her friends Natalie & Claudia, now all three are teaching at the school & each is hiding a secret & think the school would be the perfect place to disappear. Or it would be if the local villagers weren’t on edge because of the vampire in their midst, at least they think he’s a vampire.
Vincent Latimer, Viscount Atwood, is not a vampire, no matter what the villagers believe. He wishes the book, Wake Not the Dead, had never been written. There is a very good reason he visits his wife’s grave at night, and it has nothing to do with trying to raise her from the dead but more to do with his time as a soldier.
When there is a tempest it thrusts Tess into Vincent’s path and destroys the school, both of their pasts collide.
The three meddlesome schoolgirls, Rosemary Fairview, Eliza Weston & Sophia Trent are priceless. There is a mystery to solve, misunderstandings to resolve as well as romance. A very good series opener. The characters are well rounded, the pace of the book is good & the tone is lightened by the endearing & maddening students
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of the book
Great characters, wonderfully different plot!
What do you get when three very nosey girls from the local private girls’ school find out the neighboring viscount only comes out at night? It doesn’t take much for the girls’ imaginations to conjure up a vampire! Tess Crawford, one of the teachers at the Wiggons School for Elegant Young Ladies tries to keep her young charges out of mischief, but that just seems to be their speciality. When a terrible storm blows through, Tess is rescued by the viscount, and the rumors begin to fly.
Tess finds Vincent to be a little gruff. He just wants to be left alone, but he is also kind enough to help the school in a time of crisis. If only she didn’t have a deep, dark secret that keeps her tied to her teaching job, she might dare to dream that she could bring a little light into Vincent’s world.
I enjoy the intrigue and mystery of the stories in this series. Spies, murders, and rumors of the occult abound! The girls and their wild theories are hilarious, and the romance is sweet and satisfying.
Lovely gentle read. Romantic interest was good and the success s sense was enough to keep me interested.
Very well written.
Great story! It has comic relief in the form of three students who believe their host is really a vampire, a likeable heroine with a big secret, and a dashing hero with an usual war wound. Well told, interesting plot twists and moved along nicely.
Engaging in a manner that you want to know more
Good but the plot is dragged out longer than needs be
This was a book you want to get to the next page and don’t want to put it down. Loved it.
Draws you in from the first chapter.
An enjoyable read
This was a good book. A little slow at points but still good. I kinda want to read the rest of the series to see if the other teachers ever find men.

Vampire twist is funny and clever
Really cute!
enjoyable read
in 2010 my husband went everyday for radiation and I read my first book during his treatment, I kept thinking he would enjoy this book, so I read out loud to him. Since 2010 I have read him over 200 books and still counting. When I know he is really enjoying a book, is when he says, “lets see what happens in our book”. To walk in the Sun was one of those books. Wonderful read.
