In the second standalone book in New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Molly McAdams’ Thatch series, Knox Alexander must convince his long-time love Harlow Evans that they’re meant to be together.
He promised to wait for her.
She told him he was wasting his time.
Not waiting for him ended up being the biggest mistake of her life.
When they were younger, Knox Alexander swore to Harlow … were younger, Knox Alexander swore to Harlow Evans that he would wait for her to turn eighteen so they could be together. But that was two and a half years away, and Harlow couldn’t ask him to give up all the fun and thrills of going away to college for her. As the years passed, Knox remained a constant in her life but when her eighteenth birthday came around, Harlow’s heart belonged to someone else.
Every day for the last four years, Harlow has been haunted by that fateful choice. And though he may appear unaffected by what happened in their past, Knox has always tried to fill the void Harlow left. But when he comes stumbling back into her life and refuses to leave, will Harlow finally let him into her heart…?

I actually liked this one better than the first book in the Thatch series, Letting Go. I am happy to say that the more books by this author that I read, the more I know that I like her books and her writing. I read over half of the 400 pages in one day! Fortunately for me, it was a Saturday that I started reading it, because I could barely put it down. One thing I loved was the connection to the characters from the first book. Knowing what I know now about Knox, I really want to go back and read book 1 to see what fits together in the stories now that I know his whole back story and future. The abuse in this story was so scary, the extent to which Harlow’s husband went to, how far he took it, he was crazy. Now, though, I look forward to reading book 3 in the series.

WOW!!! I don’t even know how to express my feelings about this book. To The Stars is a gripping, emotional and heart wrenching story.
I will warn you that this book does cover the very tough subject of Domestic Abuse. I thought the way this book was written was phenomenal. I thought Molly McAdams wrote a story about a serious topic with a raw and accurate portrayal and didn’t romanticize it but also wrote it with tact. It’s really hard to explain, you just have to experience this story for yourself. If domestic abuse is a touchy subject for you, then I would stay away from this book. Some parts of this book are really hard to read. And I just kept thinking to myself, what would I do in Harlow’s position??
To The Stars is the second book in Molly’s Thatch Series, but can be read as a standalone. We do get to see some of the characters from the first book in this story, but it in no way interferes with this storyline. Plus Molly did a wonderful job filling in the blanks as to how all the characters know each other. Although my recommendation is to read these books in order, because they are both wonderful books!!!
This book covered many different themes. It starts out as a taboo story between an 18 year old boy and a 15 year old girl, then turned into more of a friends to lovers story but was also like a second chance romance book. I know that sounds confusing but don’t worry it will all make sense as soon as you read the book.
In this story we meet Harlow and Knox. They meet at a concert and are attracted to each other, but once Knox finds out that Harlow is underage, he backs off and treats her like a friend. Over the course of the 2 and 1/2 years, before she is 18, Harlow and Knox grow very close and Knox swears to wait for her until she is 18. So when Harlow turns 18 and Knox comes calling, what will Harlow do?? Will she make the right decision?? you’ll have to read this book to find out.
This story is told to us in dual POV and in current and past tenses. I loved how Molly wrote this story and how it all unfolded. I will say that there was once aspect of this story that is normally a hard limit for me, but I understand why it was in this book and how it all played out, made it easy for me to overlook and didn’t take away from my enjoyment of this book.
I am not going to say anything more, except READ THIS BOOK!!!!!
******I will never look at the Stars the same way again!!******
If you have triggers then this book may not be for you, as it has many.
Molly McAdams slays me with every book of she writes!! And piece by piece she picks me back up. Well there was that one time….. : (
This book was a huge emotional roller coaster. It was filled with love, loss, anger, hate, angst, rage, hope, and strength.
Molly will take you on a journey with Knox and Low that is breathtaking beautiful even through all the ugly. She has a gift with drawing you in and feeling every word not just reading them. It’s as if your right there with her characters. This book is a stand alone and written in the POV of the main characters. If you haven’t read a Molly McAdams book you are missing out.
