Joey is dead.
His head was delivered to me in a box, wrapped with a bow and an ominous card tucked inside.
One of the biggest threats has been removed from the board but it hasn’t made us any safer.
The Jackal has teamed up with the notorious sadistic killer Joseph Beaumont Sr. to take my family out, sure that we’re responsible for the death of his favored child.
The body count is only … child.
The body count is only getting higher.
Can I get us all through graduation alive?
And who the hell is sending me heads in boxes?

I just finished the Hannaford Prep Series by J Bree and holy crap I cannot believe it took me this long to start up this series. The last three days I stayed up till 5 AM just to read. And as a mom to three little boys I don’t like to lose sleep but I do it if the book is that good and this series was fucking amazing. Normally I do not read books with characters that are in high school because it makes me feel old as fuck. I’ll be 29 in June and in the first book the main characters are all little freshman‘s and 15 years old. I quickly forgot everyone’s ages the more I read into the series because of all of the shit the characters have gone through personally and together. I completely fell in love with each and every character and the plot was not easily figured out for me. I enjoyed the mystery and I really cannot wait for the next series that will be based on a favorite character of mine and his story. There are definitely dark and gruesome elements to the series as well as some extremely hot sex scenes. One chick. With three seriously possessive boyfriends. Yup.
I give this series 5+ stars. I will be definitely following this authors journey from now on.
Welcome to the wicked mind of J Bree and her diabolical story telling- hang on tight, it’s gonna get crazy, bloody, and super steamy.
J Bree is a consummate world builder- and the Hannaford world is one as sharp as it is welcoming, full of colorful characters with traumatic pasts, grey moral codes, and ever changing agendas. Lips, her men, and all of the fantastic secondary characters are captivating and magnetic. From the early bully push-pull all the way to the epic, heart stopping devotion that ensues, I could feel the chemistry down in my marrow. And what a heroine- there is no one like Lips- powerful, in control, totally alpha- the consummate survivor and the gritty warrior.
Action is no-stop, twists and turns abound, darkness and danger permeate every page- a total page turner and a wild, addictive ride. But what I loved most was the LOVE- and not just the romance, but the familial love. The love and loyalty this make-shift crew has for each other – a love that supersedes the game, a love that overpowers and controls the game. There is now greater power- the friendships, the connections, the devotion this crew of misfits has for each other. I want to live in this world forever!
HOLY MOTHER OF BOOK LOVERS!
I FREAKIN LOVE THIS SERIES! This is the perfect ending to the series. Lips, Harley, Blaise, Ash, Avery, Illi/Butcher and Odie. There are some new additions in this book and IT’S SO EXCITING!! I never wanted it to end. With all the suspense, mystery and intrigue at times I couldn’t sit still. At times I was crying over Lips getting hurt and it’s as if I could almost feel the emotions of the guys and Avery’s fear over Lips getting hurt coming off the pages. The heat between Lips and the guys is so intense I thought my Kindle was gonna spontaneously combust. Lips spidey senses are so sharp and her bullsh*t meter is in the red. Atticus is a puzzle to me I still can’t figure him out. I don’t know if I completely trust him or not. I think he means well but I also think he may have brought some of the trouble to fabulous five. The guys are such Hot alpha possessive men especially Ash he is definitely a dirty talkin bad boy. Wow! I’m in love. The Jackal has gone off the rails. He’s just off the charts batsh*t crazy. The whole crew have to ride through hell to get to the other side. When surprises start showing up their doorstep no one expects things to turn out the way they do. There are so many twists and surprises it’s shocking. This book was such a page turner for me the story was full of Oh Hell No and WTF moments it’s so exciting. Lips and Avery are the twisted sisters. Lips has changed so much since book one. She’s tough but vulnerable but still totally bad@ss. This book shows just how tough the guys really are and they would all die for each and every one in the family including Illi. At times my heart was breaking for Lips, she’s so torn. I EXTREMELY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES TO EVERYONE!! I absolutely love the new additions. Poe had me cracking up, I loved her instantly. She’s quite the sassy little spitfire.
I’m going to start this review by restating something I said in my reviews on the other books. Hannaford Prep is hands down the best book series I have ever read and J. Bree nailed this story so perfectly that I’m struggling to find the words to convey how spectacular this story is. It’s an RH yes, it’s a romance yes but it is soooo much more than that. This series is everything. It really cannot be labeled or classified as one thing. You want suspense and action? Check. You want romance? Check. You want that romance with a hefty side of well written smexy times? Check. Check. Check. You want fierce and unique characters? Check. You want deep character and world building? Check. You want a dose of humor? Check. You unputdownable, loss of sleep? Check.
I found this series a while back but I think I was feeling burnt out on “bully” plot line and hadn’t found anyone who did it well so once I saw that was an aspect of this series I passed at the time. Something brought this series back into my lane and I can’t say why I started it but I’m forever ruined now. I can’t seem to move on. I keep adding other books to my TBR and I keep starting this series over again because I can’t let these characters go.
If there is any chance that J. Bree reads this review I am going on record asking that you PLEASE consider a follow up series on these characters. Please take us to college or into their early adult life where we can see how they really start to build out “the Wolf’s empire”. Lips would be an epic, albeit unwilling ruler. While I’m dying to read more about Avery and Atticus (and perhaps Aodhan?) and super intrigued about Lips’ brother (Morningstar), I can’t let this group go. I’ve just never read a group that came to life like this before. I need more. I love you so hard for giving me the best read of my life. Thank you.
Okay, moving on…book four sees us to the conclusion of all the strife that has been building since the beginning with the Jackal, Senior Beaumont, and the Devil. These showdowns are epic and I’m not sure if you’ll understand when I say this but it was really realistic. What I mean by that is that while Lips is a serious bad@$$ she doesn’t come out unscathed from these showdowns like some sort of Mary Sue. So much drama and suspense (in a good way). You’ll be chewing off finger nails (and shedding some tears) in the last quarter of the book.
Book four also brings us deep into the relationship between Lips, Harley, Blaise and Ash and it is HOT. It has every box checked for me in the stuff I like to see with my romance. J. Bree did such a good job of building us to this point slowly and with so much steam and heat that by the time we get here we’re beyond ready and she delivers. It’s some of the best smexy scenes I have ever read, and I’ve read lots. 🙂
Like I’ve said, I’m not able to let these characters go. I can’t seem to move on. If you haven’t started this series you owe it to yourself to start this same obsession.
This book was SO amazing! Full of serial killers and unexpected twists & turns…I love this series! This world is so freaking depraved and rough, only the strong can survive. No matter if you’re born rich or poor, all these suckers are crazy! This is a top favorite of mine that I intend to reread multiple times. I will be checking out all the other books by this author too. Well done!
This book begins right where the last one ended, with the dinner with Senior. It’s as they leave that Avery notices something about the Boar, something she’s going to be researching. The Game is run again and there’s a new member of the Twelve, Harley’s cousin Aodhan is now know as the Stag. The power play he makes at the end of that was interesting but not enough to ally with the Wolf.
This summer they stay at Avery’s ranch, she’s taken great pains to decorate it perfectly to house them all. There’s another meeting of the Twelve, sort of an intro meeting for the Stag. The only thing that the meeting accomplishes is the knowledge the Jackal has invited the Devil into the mix and that he’s even more unstable than before. The Coyote’s girl Viola has information for Lips after the meeting. Avery’s father aka Senior has been in contact with the Jackal. That information pushes Lips to contact the Devil about his purchase.
So many surprises in this book, I won’t spoil them you’ll have to read for yourself. There’s plenty of bloodshed as the Jackal comes completely undone. New alliances, more heads and an ending you don’t want to miss.
Next up is The Butcher of the Bay Parts 1 & 2, I’ve already started them I’m totally addicted to these books.
The ending to this series is crazy. Lips definitely went out with a gory and bloodstained bang! All the loose ends were all tied up and the ending was shocking. I never would have guessed it and everytime I think back to see if there were any clues I am still drawing a blank. It was a welcome surprise and I hope that J. Bree does a spinoff series with that storyline. This book was less believable than the other books just because of the amount of carnage, the fact that they are going up against deranged psycopaths, hard-core mobsters, and end up for the most part unscathed.
This series was absolutely insane! So many twists and turns and mysteries I didn’t see coming! I wasn’t expecting this series when I randomly picked it but I’m very glad I chose it! It was written really well and definitely fit into my dark heart! I’m so excited to read Avery’s books! Long live the Ice Queen!
This is probably hands down one my absolutely favorite series I’ve ever read, and probably the best RH that there ever was. And I don’t say this lightly. This story line is utterly amazing. HOW DOES J BREE DO IT?! I just can’t even put into words the amazingness of this series. Just, y’all need this. Like, need this need this.
Wow. What an epic ending to a great series! I loved every single book in this series and To the End was the icing on the cake. I was shocked as secrets unfolded. The plot was fast-paced. The characters have worked their way into my heart. I will definitely be recommending this book to everyone!
Seriously this ENTIRE series had me on the edge of my seat!!! The last and sadly final book in the series was INSANE, but definitely worth it! I’m not sure how J. Bree does it, but she sure knows how to keep her audience coming back for more! Overall excellent read!!! I can’t wait to discover more books by this amazing author!
Hannaford has been a wild ride, for sure. When I started this journey, I had no idea the world that J Bree was creating and that I’d be so drawn in and obsessed.
“We will not bow down to any of our demons. Not anymore.”
— To the End: Hannaford Prep Year Four by J Bree
This is it, people. This is where everything comes to a head, where the Jackal, Senior, and the Devil all make their moves. IT IS EVERYTHING. I’m not one for spoilers, but this is the first HP book that made me cry. But where J Bree gave me tears, she also gave us some DP, so she’s definitely like a Sour Patch Kid, sweet and sour. But this book is so good. More family, more love, more sacrifice.
I won’t lie, I watch that percentage with dread the whole time I read this book. I didn’t want it to end. I didn’t want to say goodbye to HP.
I am obsessed with this series! This book was awesome and gave the ending that I thought it deserved. Such an amazing series! I’m so sad that this series is over but I completely loved how it wrapped up and can’t wait for more from J Bree!
Great ending to a series. I’ve been looking forward to this since I finished the last book and I read it in one sitting. It introduced us to new characters: The Devil, The Boar, Poe and we finally got to see if all of Lip’s’ guys could rise to be part of the Wolf’s crew. Now I’m looking forward to The Butcher’s story and can’t wait to see what happens with Avery, Atticus, and Aodhan. I just know there’s a story waiting there also. Kindle Unlimited’s great, but I’m going to be buying the whole series.
Oh my God now this was a fantastic way to finish this book off and learn so much more about The Wolf. She is what’s makes this whole story and finding out that there is so many more people she can now call family just makes me love her more. Not to mention these hot guys she has. They way it was left in hopping that we get more from them and the others who we need to hear their stories. I’ll leave with this…as a first time reader to you I can safely say I’m hooked and can’t wait to read more. Hopefully soon. J Bree you rock!!
I give it 5 stars.
