Chief Detective David Wolf’s son has a new girlfriend, and when she discovers her father—a well known man in ancient fossils trade circles—has been murdered, she and the rest of her shattered family turn to Wolf to bring them justice.
With the help of a small town sheriff and a retired police dog named Jet, Wolf follows the clues to a dig site in northwest Colorado, where secrets have been … have been entombed for eons, and people are dying to keep them that way.
In a place where killing monsters are buried under the earth, it becomes clear there are still some roaming topside, and in this suspense-filled seventh installment of the David Wolf series, Wolf must keep his wits, or his bones might be the prize being unearthed someday.

Likable characters made you want to know what happened, looking forward to reading some more David Wolf books.
Well developed characters, a great sense of place and an interesting journey into the seamy side of archaeology.
Another great read by the author about David Wolf, one of my favorite fictional characters.
I enjoyed reading this book but would have enjoyed it more if I had read the earlier books first. Many of the characters had been introduced prior to this story and understanding the personal interaction of the back stories would have made it more enjoyable. I will start reading the series with book 1.
Good read!
I enjoyed the book, great characters.
I enjoyed reading stories that take place in my state. Knowing a bit of that background made the story come to life. I have never given much thought to digs on private land so that aspect was very interesting. I thought I had figured out the plot so the twist at the end was a big surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and hated to put it down .
An easy, entertaining read.
Love all Jeff Carson’s books.
I enjoyed reading it.
Kept you wanting more. Good pace, background and characters
Like the Colorado setting & the detectives interactions
Found it interesting particularly because my grandson is obsessed with dinos!
I really enjoy the continuing characters in this series. Good story, accurate detail on the fossils and trade.
