I enjoyed this quick and captivating read.
Sir Henry Cruttendon doesn’t want Elizabeth Feinnes to marry Jack Tyler, he wants her for himself. He hires the actors turned witchfinders, Thomas Gaunt and Matthew Stiles, to prove Jack is a witch and force Elizabeth to be his lover.
The characters were well-fleshed out for a short story. Set in 17th Century England at a time when witch hunts were commonplace, the storyline was convincing, interesting, well-paced, and filled with suspense and intrigue, with a surprising twist at the end.
What an interesting read. Set in a time when witch hunts were common place. A loving couple torn apart by a selfish Lord in such unfathomable ways. Outcomes that were quite unexpected. Jay Raven sure does love to surprise the reader with unforeseen details. If you are a fan of witches or just a story full of twists be sure to check this one out.
A wonderful and chilling tale about a beautiful, love-struck couple caught in the crosshairs of a disgusting nobleman that concocts a devious plan to remove the husband from the picture so he can have the unsullied bride for himself. This story has plenty of suspense and drama compacted in this wonderfully written tale that will enthrall you to the very end. I highly recommend this one!
