Sir Phillip knew that Eloise Bridgerton was a spinster, and so he’d proposed, figuring that she’d be homely and unassuming, and more than a little desperate for an offer of marriage. Except . . . she wasn’t. The beautiful woman on his doorstep was anything but quiet, and when she stopped talking long enough to close her mouth, all he wanted to do was kiss her . . . and more.Did he think she was … more.
Did he think she was mad? Eloise Bridgerton couldn’t marry a man she had never met! But then she started thinking . . . and wondering . . . and before she knew it, she was in a hired carriage in the middle of the night, on her way to meet the man she hoped might be her perfect match. Except . . . he wasn’t. Her perfect husband wouldn’t be so moody and ill-mannered, and while Phillip was certainly handsome, he was a large brute of a man, rough and rugged, and totally unlike the London gentlemen vying for her hand. But when he smiled . . . and when he kissed her . . . the rest of the world simply fell away, and she couldn’t help but wonder . . . could this imperfect man be perfect for her?

Eloise was my favorite sister as I read along and I enjoyed her story so much. I liked that she was a strong heroine who stayed just as she was throughout. I loved the way she endured the kids and how, eventually, their union was established.
A romance that starts with a note, evolves into a year long letter exchange and leads to a “blind” proposal. A wonderful addition to the Bridgerton series complete with Julia Quinn’s staple sense of humor. Loved it!
Phillips story brought tears to my eyes. Eloise is one of my favorite characters.
As a new, delighted member of the Bridgerton family fan club, I acclaim this Ms. Quinn’s 5th book of the series does not disappoint, walking away AGAIN pleasantly satisfied with the author’s romantic alluring Bridgerton storylines from the 1800s. At the start of the new historical romance journey the author guides the reader through Phillips’ dark …
This was another great story in the Bridgerton series. I loved getting more of Eloise and her vibrant personality and how she and Phillip got to know each other. To Sir Phillip, With Love was sweet, funny, and engaging. Wonderful read!
I had high expectations for Eloise’s story, she is one of my favorites. 🙂 I could never imagine her story going anything like this, it’s different, and I loved it! 🙂
Eloise was set on being a spinster. She had quite a few offers, but no one moved her. And it was totally ok until her best friend got married. While happy for her, she got jealous …
There were parts of To Sir Phillip, With Love that I liked and a lot that I did not like at all. I was not a fan of Sir Phillip. Some of his issues were explained by the end of the book. However, I feel the redemption and change in Sir Phillip occurred too quickly. I also feel the children would have been more traumatized with the neglect the …
Another HILARIOUS book in the series. It’s so classically Eloise to just escape in the night to show up on a potential husbands doorstep, sight unseen, with no explanation left for her family. It would be fair to say that most of the Bridgerton clan are extremely stubborn and as a general rule they tend to butt heads and argue with their partners, …
I have definitely found my new favorite Bridgerton book. I always knew I loved Eloise, but her story is by far one of my favorites. Not only does the plot have a little more than the rest of the books, but I find the slow-burning chemistry between Sir Phillip and Eloise to be amazing.
What made this book stand out from the rest, though, was …
I love everything Julia Quinn !!!
Ever since finishing book 4 in this series, I couldn’t wait to see what was going on with Eloise! This book did not disappoint. The very idea of starting a relationship in the manner which Eloise and Sir Phillip did is SO romantic and I found it to be very endearing.
One thing I really love about this series, is seeing the previous couples …
3.5
I’m a bit perplexed on how to review this novel. If you are like me, making your way through the series, you will not want to miss out on knowing Eloise’s tale, but it’s not my favorite in the series. From the previous book, we know she flees London to her Sir Phillip and is married soon after. I feel it was enough to make me want to know …
It has been a few weeks but I got to return to the Bridgerton family. It was great to be back with them and get to know Eloise a little more. She has always interested me with her cunning remarks in the previous books but in this one we get to see her spitfire attitude more. I cannot wait to keep reading more about this family and keeping tabs …
Great to watch Eloise get her true love.
Audiobook: Narrator – Rosalyn Landor
I really enjoyed this narration. This narrator gave each character a distinctive voice as well as bringing vibrancy to their emotions and reactions. I have to admit, I did think that Phillip was much, much older until we found out exactly how old he is and my jaw dropped. His voice in the audio was not one …
Didn’t love this one quite as much as the last two but it was still a ton of fun. Eloise is just great. All of these books so far are just so much fun and so engaging and it makes them super quick reads. Very much enjoying my Bridgerton journey.
Not again. . . I feel like I’m stuck to just enjoy the last books of this series instead of loving them like I did with the first ones.
I really liked Eloise in the other books and I was kind of curious with Phillip story because of everything but it felt like it was something missing in their story.
There were still some good moments though and …
I enjoyed this next installment of the Bridgerton family saga. I always liked Eloise and I find it hilarious that’s she’s considered a spinster at 28 (ah this reminds me why regency novels fell out of my favor). But of course, after watching the TV show, I wanted to make it through the books!
This book, following Eloise and Sir Phillip was good. …
This is book 5 and it’s starts out with Eloise Bridgeston who is the middle child in her family she is at the age where they would label her spinster but she is not unwed because she didn’t have offers. She is unwed because she didn’t not find the man that made her feel the way she dreamed it would. So she planned a life to be alone with her best …
Eloise is so pivotal in the first season of Bridgerton, that I was really looking forward to her love story and match. Everything though came as a total surprise and thrilled me to the very end. The book made me laugh, love, and even cry at some point or another. The timelines of these books starts to get a little wonky since the courtship of …
