A new emotional standalone from Rachel Blaufeld.
No cliffhanger, only hard-earned unexpected love.
And some angst.
What is it about this guy?
On paper, he’s one hundred percent wrong for me. His e-mails are equal parts annoying and funny.
Okay, more funny than annoying. More like refreshing. Different. Exciting.
But as I stand next to him now, he’s giving me head-to-toe tingles, and I find … head-to-toe tingles, and I find myself dwelling on his e-mails.

Bravo!!
Rachel Blaufeld once again gives us a story thinking outside of the box and giving us this fantastic read. To See You is a beautiful, emotional story about judgment and acceptance wrapped up in a love story.
I would consider this read a loose version of Beauty and the Beast. In this story the female heroine Charli is the beast, and the male hero Layton is the beauty.
Can’t tell you more without giving up spoilers!
Charli meets Layton Griffin on random encounter in an airplane, sitting next to each other. Layton was immediately smitten by Charli and got to talking to her. Despite her immediate dislike for him, he struck a nerve in her she couldn’t ignore or forget. First he wasn’t even remotely close to who Charli sees herself hooking up with, but she found herself accepting his invitations. He seemed nice enough, friendly, intelligent, sincere but alas he wasn’t what she considered acceptable man material. It was obvious to her he liked her but she judged the hell out of him at first sight, instead of seeing see him for who he really was. You see, Charli was a self proclaimed, smart, sexy, career girl and New York snob. She only dated The Wall Street alpha suited male or the surgeon from the Upper East Side.
Despite his unique un alpha appearance he was everything she longed for in a relationship, including fantastic in bed, successful and charming. Without realizing she was quickly falling for him, but kept blowing him off because of his appearance and the fear her friends and family wouldn’t approve of him. Layton got tired of the seesaw ride and walked away doing something that really blew her mind.
This story seriously revealed how as women we want to be accepted, desired loved despite our appearance, but yet we often don’t afford the same criteria towards men.
What if the alpha male doesn’t LOOK like the typical alpha male we read about?
What if his physical appearance is different?
Do you find un-muscular men attractive?
Luckily, Charli had an epiphany and began to see Layton in a different light.
But will feelings change depending on his body size?
3.5 stars
My favorite part of this book is the hero. I love that Lay isn’t the ripped, cut alpha in every other book. He is a sweet, fun, friendly guy with a plus size physique. He is the best friend you want and romantic too. However, that isn’t enough for some people.
Charli sees a fat slob in the seat next to her and disgust rolls through her. She is the epitome of a NYC snob. She is fitness editor for a trendy site and she mirrors that. She plays the role so well.
But a chance meeting with the soulful eyes of 2D, has Charli questioning a lot. She wonders when she be same the birch. When did she decide how a person looks shows their worth? More confusing what about this man makes him so irresistible?
Struggling through society’s mold for her, her mother’s demands, and a friend who dictates the rest of her life- Charli realizes her life isn’t her own.
I found it refreshing to see the nice guy get a chance, though don’t let Layton hear me call him nice. His beauty both internal and external shines through and it makes me happy. Charli, you will probably spend a lot of time wanting to smack her, needs to learn to live for herself.
