Luther is the most beautiful of my captors. Still I hate him more than the others. I hate him so much that the darkness inside me comes alive. When I started university and moved out of my foster parents’ home, I hoped everything would change. That the nightmares, the visions, the voices would stop, but they got worse. Then three of the most dangerously stunning fae crashed into my life.… crashed into my life.
Intoxicating eyes.
Devilish lips.
Dangerous intentions.
They insist I belong with them in the Wandering Realm. A place where love is lost, where war is brewing between two realms, and where the once powerful royals are being hunted down and slaughtered.
I’m their savior they say, but there are no saviors amid monsters. These princes who are tasked to keep me safe are keeping secrets of their own. Secrets that will kill me.
So, how am I meant to rid the realm of evil when I feel the dark spreading through my veins?

To Seduce A Fae: Fantasy Romance (Winter’s Thorn Book 1) by Mila Young is a wonderful story to read. This is book number one in this wonderful start to a brand new series that I have loved reading very much and canc not wait to read the next book. I highly recommend to all.
I loved reading this story thank you for writing this wonderful story.
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
As a huge Mila fan I was more then excited to get my hands on this start to a new series and I was so happy once I did!!! This is one fantastic world she has created this time. We meet Guen as she is going on a blind date in a group setting where she ends up meeting a really hot guy during a strange encounter. Next she is attacked by two weird guys only to have the hot guy show up and save her. Imagine her surprise when he starts talking about Fae, princes, and more that her shrink swore was her imagination. After an unexpected trip through a portal she created by accident her world changes even more as she is dropped in the middle of this world that is not supposed to exist being told all sorts of things that she has a hard time believing. It doesn’t help that all three princes are uber hot at the same time. A fantastic story line that has you turning the pages until you totally run out. A must read! I totally loved so I give it 5/5 stars and will be anxiously awaiting the next installment!!!
Just average- in plot, in steam, in character development. World building was very good which is why I’m giving three stars. I love Fae books but this story is one you have to struggle to stay involved in and the FMC is annoying. So many good ideas in the story but they pretty much all fizzled. If you have more patience with a story than I do maybe this will be for you.
My new fae addiction.
I did really like this book, enough that I’ve already started on book two. But there are a couple things that brought it down from five-stars.
I’ll start with my favorite parts. I really love the characters. I think they are interesting and well-defined. Sometimes with RH, the guys especially end up blending together, but each one has a distinct personality and I love it! Even the side-characters are written so well. I think the character development is the most impressive part of this story! I did also find it to be original and a page-turner.
Alright, now for my not-so-favorite aspects…the biggest thing for me is all the effin’ secrets the guys are keeping from the FMC. As I’ve said, I’ve already started book two. I’m about 25% of the way into that and I know they are still hiding things. That’s a pet peeve for me, and the longer they keep them, the more it is getting to me. The other part is the freakin’ slow burn. I understand this is totally a me-problem. But I’m getting impatient. Especially since I keep reading their inner dialogue about how they want each other so badly. Apparently not! *clears throat and steps off soap box* excuse me, I’m done now.
So, it is a great book and I do recommend it…especially if secrets and a slow burn don’t bother you. Happy reading!
Mila Young has a unique way of introducing a concept and turning it around and sucking in the reader. This novel took on a concept that I’ve read similarly before but made it her own.
As were introduced to our main character, Guen, and she believes that she suffers a mental illness because she remembers things that could never have happened. Then she meets her first man, Demios and feels an instant attraction. She has many twists and turns as she discovers the world she thought was in her head is real and she must have now traverse into it. She then is reintroduced to Luther and Ahren and has to figure out her place. I feel like these characters were very real as Guen’s reactions are how I feel I would react if I were thrown into the situation.
This book ends with a dramatic cliffhanger, having the reader begging for the next book. I definitely recommend the series as it takes on the concept of Fae and humans and turns things all around.
I’m were do I begin!!! It did take me a bit to get into the story but I’m glad that I stuck with it though. It had plenty of action, intrigue, mystery, and suspense to keep you hook from beginning to end. It does end on a cliffhanger but I’m interested enough to see what else is in store for this series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
Ok I confess I literally tore through this book without blinking.. I completely devoured it lol and I can’t wait til read more.
Dreams, feelings and emotions that could be real or not had Guen in despair. When a prince from another realm came for her because she was the only one who could save his people, she needed to know about a forgotten past. Read first the free copy of To Catch a Fae. Good! Liked Luther’s character and understood better the dynamics of the realm. In to Seduce a Fae caught my attention how Guen was dealing with what she was feeling for Deimos and her struggle trying to remember Luther. Intense and exciting the fights with the monsters. Intrigued by Guen’s hidden powers. What she could to save the Shadow Realm? Lot of action, suspense, some amusing scenes, strange creatures, violence, romance and passion. An interesting, intriguing and entertaining story, just the way I like these fantasy stories with mysteries, secrets, strange and conflictive characters that arouse my curiosity about how the author will work with them.
Such great depth to the characters and great world building. I can easily see this story made into a movie or series on a streaming service. So dark, and twisted, but perfectly written to feel that burn of wanting more.
There are no words to describe this book. If I had to choose a word the closest one would be amazing. This book is action packed and keeps you on the edge of your seat trying to see what is going to happen next. I cannot wait to see what happens next with the relationships. I also cannot wait to read the next book of this series when it comes out.
An opportunity to think of the mind’s tricks, the extent of their results that makes one doubt of his/her surroundings. It’s such a fast paced story, that some chapters are need to give the readers a rest. Danger is everywhere leading Guen and the princes to a constant fight.
This book is a fabulous start to this new series! I loved it and could not put it down! Guen, Ahren, Deimos, and Luther are amazing characters. The storyline takes place in both the Human and Fae Realms and is full of action, intrigue, mystery and suspense. I would definitely recommend this book and I cannot wait for the next one!
This series just gets better and better. I love everything about this series. Guen is once again in danger and one of her Princes is there too rescue her and too bring her home. I’m dying too know so many answers too so many secrets and who cursed Guen. Definitely can’t wait too read the next book especially how this book ended.
First, let me say that the blurb for this book and the story are only remotely comparable, in that the names and locations are the same — the description, completely misleading.
To Seduce a Fae is a solid story despite the distracting description. If you follow the lore of Fae, you know the Fae replace human babies with changelings. Changelings then grow up in the human world, often their magic is bound, and they might not know that they are supernatural until their magic is released. Guen has spent her human life, a life full of misfortune, believing she is a mortal, thinking that her dreams and the voices in her head are a sickness.
In the Fae realm, brothers Ahren, Luther, and Deimos are living in a Kingdom plagued and cursed. A prophecy foretold that a Fae would destroy the Shadow Kingdom; it’s chaos unleashed.
All because Guen has already visited the Shadow Kingdom once before–though Guen thinks that visit was a delusion.
One of the things most successfully done, as far as the plot is concerned, is that Mila Young allows POV from the Princes, which fills in the plot holes left in Guen’s story. Guen herself is clueless as to her back story and personal importance. I don’t think that this narrative would work without the history that Deimos, Luther, and Ahren provide.
To Seduce a Fae does end in a cliffhanger. I’m interested enough to check out the next book but, I read Ella’s Masquerade by Lexi C. Foss this week, liked it far better.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary advance copy of this book.
Ella’s Masquerade
(I received this title as an ARC. All opinions are mine and freely given.)
“Luther is the most beautiful of my captors. Still I hate him more than the others. I hate him so much that the darkness inside me comes alive.”
If you’re like me, there’s plenty of steamy conflict in the synopsis of Mila Young’s ‘To Seduce a Fae,’ to grab your attention. Ironically, though this is listed as the first title in the ‘Winter’s Thorn’ series, the e-book still arrived with an attached download link for a prequel called, ‘To Catch a Fae.’ Go figure.
I did, of course, go download it right away. The covers are both gorgeous and the story sounded like it was going to be a pretty fun fantasy novel with a lot of beautiful fae heat to roll around in. Though, even as I was just beginning this book, I was pretty certain I’d never read that first one.
Young is one of those author’s who.. and I’m seeing a lot of them lately.. write stories more like they’re in a role-playing chatroom than putting down words for a novel. I don’t know when that became the thing. I honestly feel like they don’t know any better.. like this is just how their brains process storytelling.. but it annoys the hell out of me.
Instead of ‘she laughs,’ we get ‘she’s laughing’.. which makes me feel like I’m sitting beside the narrator.. but they think I don’t understand what’s happening. The rest of that sentence becomes, “She’s laughing, then refocuses on me.” Not, “She laughs, then refocuses on me.” Using two different approaches in the same sentence always sends me into a silent reader rage. I can’t even explain it.
I know it sounds like I’m nit-picking, but try saying that to someone in conversation and see how it feels. Now, try spending all day only speaking that way. I rest my case.
Of course, the first gorgeous fae she runs across.. Deimos, has to think up a false name to give her.. I don’t know why. Neither name means anything to her at this point, but he stammers and gives the name ‘Doohickey.’ So, 7% of the way in, I found myself already cringing.. and it doesn’t stop. It gets worse and worse.
The main character, Guen, is one of those brilliant author designs. You know the ones.. she’s so plain and unattractive that she thinks she’d look terrible in the things her best friend wears and no one would be interested in her, but of course.. everyone is. All the men are mesmerized by how beautiful she is. Whether friends or enemies, would-be killers or saviors, ultimately they still want to try her on for size. It’s ridiculous.
She’s melodramatic and annoying in all the most basic ways.
“These men were standing really close, saying weird things.” I feel stupid in this moment as I hear my words and what I’m freaking out about.”
I constantly wanted someone to shut her up or the chance to do it myself. And the author’s descriptions are beyond.. belief. Sometimes I don’t even know what she’s trying to say, let alone why she chooses to say it the way she does.
“Someone grabs my arm, and I swing around with my stomach in my skin pricking with dread.”
Pardon? That one left me blinking for a minute. Actually, after staring at the screen, perplexed by the writer’s interesting command of language, I just shut the Kindle down and shook my head. I needed a few minutes to get over exactly how bad it was in the moment.
Ultimately, the story is just incredibly average. I did go back. A couple of hours later. But it continued to devolve from a creative standpoint in my opinion. The author loves to info dump periodically, instead of unveiling things with care.. a little word vomit in the car.. another bit of it in the motel.. a bit of it when they pause in running.. a bit more at the inn almost to the castle.. leaving exactly the kind of mess you’d expect.
“His fingers squeeze harder, and I’m suffocating, my lungs strangling themselves for air.”
Deimos, as it turns out, has two hot brothers.. Luther and Ahren. They have dangerous enemies in one of the neighboring Courts, a curse to try to cure, violent abuse in a childhood backstory, and they’re racking up debts just trying to deal with that, which may be the death of at least one of them. But none of that can save this title, as it’s never really drawn out into a proper story. Mostly it’s just briefly touched on here and there throughout the MC’s whining and complaining and the attempt by the author to handle multiple-POV storytelling, when even one POV is on shaky ground.
Honestly, even the ‘steamy scenes’ are duds. The girl has a one-button insta-arousal kit and a nearly instant release potential without any serious contact. While there are signs the boys can smolder and Luther especially sounds lovely, it’s a whole lot of ‘not enough’ in a novel full of ‘I don’t even care anymore.’
I just can’t convey how disappointing this book was for me. I could probably pull all of the integral parts of the story from it and fit them onto a few pages, but you know what? It still wouldn’t be worth reading.
“I loved this story!!! I can not wait to find out who she really is and if they can fix the problem! The guys are beast (of the best kind)! And the world building is awesome!”
Guen has lived her life as a human. She is not. This book takes the reader on a magical trip into the fae kingdoms. A curse lies on the sealie kingdom. Book one ends with the promise of death. Hopefully in book 2 a cure is found.
Omg what an amazing book. I am absolutely in love with this book. Guen is an amazing character who is strong in a way she doesn’t even know and has been told that everything she seen 2 years ago is all made up in her head. The men are hot as sin and part of what she was told was a made up world. The story very detailed and so smooth and easy to read, it just sucks you in and makes you apart of it. I highly recommend this book to everyone, it’s an amazing read.
Guen thinks herself as a human but she isn’t but much more… She doesn’t know her past; who she is, where she is from or what she is…. She believes the voice in her head is just her imagination, until the day she is kidnapped by three fae princes, one of whom is the owner of the voice in her head, to her dream kingdom… She is more confused by the actions of the princes… she inadvertently may have caused the curse in the fae realm…. She isn’t a typical badass FMC; she herself needs to be saved … how can be the saviour?? what exactly the princes want from her?? will she save the realm or destroy it?
The fairy tale of The Sleeping Beauty is presented with a different twist with ample doses of suspense, mystery, curses, passion, fairies and so on… Mila Young has maintained appeal of the characters and the story tip to toe…
