Orion knows he’s losing the battle to control his bear. It’s only a matter of time before he’s so far gone that one of his friends feels obliged to put him down like a well-loved but rabid dog. That’s partly why he welcomes the sexy shifter from the Den who shows up with a silver-bullet with his name on it. Orion figures this will be the perfect end–he’ll have a bit of fun with this Anais and … Anais and then stop complicating everyone’s life.
He doesn’t count on the would-be assassin being his mate, a woman with complications of her own who is less and less willing to kill him the more time they spend together.
Can two broken bears find wholeness together?
Or is this a match doomed to fail?

Orion wasn’t born a bear shifter, he had his thrust upon him, a hunting trip gone wrong. So he’d never grown up with the second voice inside his head. The bear and man always clashing, fighting each other for dominance.
The only joy in his life is his ability to make things out of nothing. And now this ragtag band of shifters who have claimed him as family.
Anais was also changed from human to bear shifter, and guess what? She’s from the Den that’s been causing them so much trouble.
In fact she’s been sent to kill Orion, she’s been told he’s a loose cannon and if she kills him, then she get enough money to clear her brothers debts.
But Orion is onto her from the beginning, but he’s going to play along for a while. He knows she’s going to kill him, but both the man and the bear don’t seem too worried.
The more time Anais spends with Orion, the more she questions the Den’s motives. But she doesn’t really have much of a choice.
Can she find a way to keep everyone alive?
And if the Den come round again to finish off Orion for good this time, what side will she choose?
I’ve liked Orion right from the start. His background was different from the rest of the bears.
Loved how his humour came through at the most inappropriate times.
Also his fight to retain his humanity, he feels like he’s slowly losing himself to the bear, he can’t find a balance.
It was nice to have a female that could handle herself. Anais has had a troubled past, and her human brother is not helping it one bit, using her as a guarantor for his gambling debts!
So it’s either kill Orion, or she loses her life and her brother’s.
I read and enjoyed this book To Redeem a Bear immensely as part of the collection Lumberjack Bears by Emilia Hartley, which is an exciting adventure filled collection of five different books that each feature a different unique meeting between a bear shifter and his fated mate but are entertwined within the overall story arc. Each book in this series features one of a group of five bear shifters who work together as a crew of lumberjacks who clear land for future construction. This book features one of these men work on the lumberjack crew and how he meets his fated mate while the over all group of five shifter couples come together to support one another. To Redeem a Bear is the fifth and final book in the series. This complete series collection includes the following books: To Love a Bear, To Save a Bear, To Trust a Bear, To Tame a Bear, and To Redeem a Bear and is a wonderful five book series that builds from the first book to the last. Even though each book can be read individually I suggest you read the whole series because this series is an exhilarating read that made me laugh, cry, and gasp in surprise as I read each book in this unforgettable series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. To Redeem a Bear is an amazing fated mate love story.
I read this book as part of the boxed set… This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Lumberjack Bears by Emilia Hartley is a set of five books that will steal your heart. I absolutely loved this series. A family of misfit bears in search of (and sometimes not) of their mates and some peace in their lives. Sweet, steamy, funny and heart-meltingly sexy, this set is loaded with action and adventure. If you love a good bear shifter story, then you will also love this boxed set. Emilia Hartley has long been on my go to list for entertaining and sexy shifter reads and this set does not disappoint.

I’ve read every book in this series and I believe that Owen is the most intelligent of all the bears. His is also the most volatile because he wasn’t born a bear, but was changed. I’ve like Owen althrough this series, and how he plays his mate with his intelligent is fun and amusing. This is actually the best story of the series.
This is the one I’ve been waiting for and it was worth the wait. Orion may be a loose cannon, but he’s the go to when you need someone to cover your back. I loved that he had Anais’ number from the beginning. I also liked that he decided to play with her when he realized she was there to kill him. I loved that he still has Amy feeding him, specially now. That just made me laugh. I’m really gonna miss the Lumberjack Bears. I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.
A new and exciting world for shifters.
Anais, a changed bear shifter, accepts a job to kill Orion, a lumberjack bear shifter, who has not gained control of his bear. As the story progresses they find that they have more in common than they thought, feelings become involved and her past comes to his door. Emilia Hartley has created a new and exciting world for shifters. Her fifth book in her Lumberjack Bears series brings a mate to the final bear and another personality to the family. I’m interested to see what she does next.
