I received a free download of this audio book. I did enjoy the story. It is a sweet clean easy reading historical romance. I think I will see if I can find the next story in this series. I feel bad giving this only 4-stars because it is a good story.. but for some reason I just did not fall in love with this audio offering.
I love how she stood up for herself
Julia & Phillip’s story was Absolutely Wonderful.
I normally read Historical Romance Novels that have a few sex scenes, albeit I do enjoy reading Books that don’t have any sex Scenes.
This Story was well thought out & written extremely well.
I recommend this Book to anyone who enjoys reading a Great Book.
Loved the book
I loved this book! It was an easy to read fun book! I didn’t want this story to end! These characters became my friends!
I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and all opinions expressed herein are my own.
This is an enjoyable clean romance. Julia and Philip have been friends since childhood. But, it has been about five years since they had seen each other when the death of Philip’s brother caused Philip to move away. Now he is back to seek a bride and he thinks he wants Julia’s beautiful sister.
It’s a quick wholesome read with entertaining characters. While this is a pretty predictable path you’re traveling, it was filled with good humor, good writing and a fun plot set at a good pace.
I really enjoyed the narrator, Megan Green. She did a nice job with the various characters.
Enjoyed reading great, entertaining would recommend
I liked the characters so much that I am reading the second book in the series.
A really fun story with the confusion of who they really love and may want to marry. I really enjoyed listening to this story with some great narration. The accents were perfect.
It’s amazing how some people in love can create messes for themselves. They break their own hearts by trying to do the honorable thing and ease their guilt of past events. For Phillip and Julia it becomes a pit they must pull themselves out of. An admittance of love shouldn’t be so hard! I enjoyed reading about this bungling pair.
I really enjoyed this book. Full of sweetness, this is a story of Julia who was separated from her childhood best-friend/crush (Philip) by tragedy and deceit.
Now, compared to her older sister, she feels like an ugly duckling. When Philip returns after the the tragic loss of his older brother, he plans to marry Julia’s sister.
This is a poignant story of a man who sees more in Julia than she can see in herself, two sisters making amends, and love conquering even the darkest secrets.
Good story – and no steamy sex!
Story: (4 stars)
A lovely book of misdirected intentions that turn out for the best in the end.
Narration: (3.5 stars)
Narrator does a very good job with the voices, once you get used to her cadence 🙂
Can’t wait to hear the other books in the series!

Mr. Hartford created quite a mess by his first proposal. An important secret has been kept that will impact the lives of him and a pair of sisters.
I enjoyed the narrator and the life she gave the story.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The many twists of love. A very enjoyable read. A back and forth who will he love? Who will she love? Love story. Beautifully set, makes your mind wander to a more wonderful/peaceful time. Definitely recommend. The second book is a must read.
This review is for the ebook and the Audible. I really had a hard time listening to the Audible. I did not like the narrator. It sounded more like someone reading a children’s book and using different voices for the different characters. Thankfully the Audible was not very long. And since I got it for free, I didn’t lose any money.
The ebook was much better to listen to with my default text to speak British voice.
I already had the book and it was okay. Very predictable and the characters were annoying. Not enough for me to want to read the rest if the books.
I received a free review copy of this Audible book and am voluntarily leaving a review. And as you can tell, this is very honest.
This is a new author to me. I enjoyed this story. It has a wonderful story. Phillip and Julia don’t want to face their growing feelings for one another. Julia’s sister, Allison is a sweet part of their story in getting them together. I look forward to reading the next one.
I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was charming. The Characters were wonderful, and the knots they tied themselves in before the end would have done a Shakespearean comedy proud. I received a free copy of the audio version of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Julia needs her own fairy-tale ending.
Okay, I did jump at the chance to get this audible I have read the book and loved it so I was interesting in hearing Ms. Green she was wonderful. Phillip and Julia are both missing the boat with this one. Now both do not realize that there is feeling there so Phillip decides to court Julia’s sister because he feels he can protect Julia. Allison kind of makes things clear to Phillip how she feels. The characters are so tangled up it was fun listening to them figure out how to get out of the mess they have made. Cute book I highly recommend. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
