Brittany Owens is a young woman on the brink.
As Brit’s career soars past up-and-coming and hurtles toward the stratosphere, she feels like she doesn’t have any control over its trajectory. Her grandfather is country music royalty. Her momager is determined to get Brit to the top at all costs. And then, there is the man she fell for when she was far too young to know any better.
Cash Dorsett … any better.
Cash Dorsett once had stardom within his grasp.
But the excesses that come with a life in the spotlight had him landing flat on his face when he reached for the success he craved. Clean and sober now, he doesn’t let himself think about the blue-eyed girl he left in the wreckage of his career. Much.
A chance encounter leads to an intense collaboration.
But can Brit and Cash find a way to make beautiful music together without allowing her rising star to burn their love to the ground?

Whenever I pick up a Maggie Wells book, I know I’m going to get well-crafted characters, a finely tuned plot, and hours of delicious, soul-satisfying entertainment. This book packed all the punches–and then some!
Not just one, but two romances are weaved into this beautiful tale. I so enjoyed the parallels and juxtapositions between the two storylines, and, though I wouldn’t call myself a country music fan, this book made me believe in the power of music, no matter what genre, and how it can unite people together even in their darkest hours.
To Make You Feel My Love is a sexy, funny, touching, and well-paced story that will surprise and delight you till the very end. It’s the perfect summer read!
Brittany is headed for super-stardom. With her momager, Wydetta, controlling everything in her life and career. After she and Cash broke up five years ago, his life bottomed out with alcohol and pills. He’s clean and sober now, but no longer interested in performing. When Brit runs into Cash at a music festival in Austin, she know where she wants to be – back in his life. No one thinks they should be together – his sobriety, and their 12-year age difference. This was such a great book, one that I stayed up way too late reading. I love Cash – he’s real, flawed, working so hard on his sobriety. He only wants the best for Brit, even when he doesn’t think that’s him. Brit is to much stronger than she thinks, but still afraid to take control of her life. She’s surprisingly well-adjusted, and as normal as she can be considering her background. She loves Cash with her whole heart. I have trouble with Wydetta; she’s mostly overbearing and obnoxious, although those qualities are watered down a bit once she and Sir James figure out their relationship. Sir James tends to butt in where he doesn’t belong, but amazingly, his wisdom seems to help in most situations. There was enough suspense and action to make for some additional interest – threats made against Brit, by someone I would never have suspected. This is my first book from this author – looking forward to more.

To Make You Feel My Love by Maggie Wells is an enjoyable story about a young woman, Brittany Owens, coming into her own. Brittany is the granddaughter of a famous country music singer, but became a singer based on her on talent, not the family name. After years of blood, sweat, and tears, Brit is about to break even further into the music industry. Her mother and manager, momager Wydetta, is controlling, holding all the power and making all the decisions for Brit’s singing career. Brit is ready to start being involved in making some of those decisions; the major one being that she wants Cash Dorsett. Cash hit rock bottom and lived to changed his ways. He much prefers the life he has, now that he has been sober for a while; out of the limelight while playing guitar for some star, or working at the recording studio he owns with his buddies. A chance encounter forces Brit and Cash to realize their prior feelings did not die, despite it being five years later or the twelve years difference in age. When Brit needs help writing a new song she asks Cash and they definitely can make some beautiful music together. Brit and Cash might have reunited but it’s not exactly easy for these two with all the family disapproval and interference; in addition to learning to compromise and adapt to each other’s needs. Romance is in the air as another May to September romance erupts between Wydetta and a famous rock and roll icon. Wydetta might be the character you loved to hate but she will make her way into your head and get you to like her anyway.
Ms. Wells wrote an emotional, amazing May to September romance that should definitely not be missed. She provided a story with sizzling chemistry, interfering family members, and charming characters kept me flipping the pages of this romance. I enjoyed and highly recommend To Make You Feel My Love to other readers.

I’m a country music fan. This story is about Brit who is trying to make a career singing country music. She would love to follow in her grandpas steps and become country music royalty. She has her Mom as a manager and will do anything she can to make it a reality.
Cash has lost stardom due to bad choices. He is now clean and sober and wants to make music with Brit. Can they make it work? Will the momager make things worse? Read it!
This is a good story with good characters but based on the description I was expecting the story of Cash and Brit. I was not expecting so much of Brit’s mother and her love interest. This made the book longer than it would have been with just Cash and Brit.
