An enjoyable well written contemporary inspirational romance. You follow Tristan and Virginia an engaged couple go through trials about trust and communication as a couple weeks before their wedding. This storyline includes family drama, cheating ex, secrets, some humor and laughs, misunderstandings, and communication all while renovating a B&B. A sweet clean story.

A fantastic, captivating, clean romance about having the strength to forgive others for past mistakes. Virginia and Tristan are back and tying the knot. However unresolved issues and ghosts from Tristan’s past may very well tear them apart unless Tristan allows Heavenly Father to soften his heart and open his heart to forgiveness and healing. Filled with secrets, serious illness, a family divided, flirtatious banter, healing, a strong faith in Christ and Heavenly Father, forgiveness, and love. A must read to get readers into the Christmas spirit of “good will towards men.” Readers will fall in love all over again with Tristan, Virginia, old friends, and new ones in this new book from Sophie Mays.

The second book in the Sweetwater Island Ferry Series is a well-written story that held my attention throughout. Virginia and Tristan’s story has something that Tristan has to come to grips with from his past if he is to move forward. The B&B restoration sounded like it would be a lovely place to stay once it was finished. This is a book I would recommend.
In the sequel for “For Love…and Donuts” Ms. Mays describes Virginia and Trevor during their engagement, and the problems that can arise when one is keeping secrets or simply does not want to talk about their past. Solving their problems while taking on a new project – a B&B on the island – plus an interesting love triangle with Virginia’s sister in the center.
A well-rounded story, realistic and written with a warm heart. – a lovely book. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

This was a good little romance it had a decent storyline and would make a good hallmark film. With good likable characters, this was a super read that held my interest and kept me reading. It was good easy read and I enjoyed it and look forward to reading more from this author in the future
Wonderful, clean romance about family issues and other stresses as the couple continue to work and try to finish the planning 3 weeks before their wedding. The characters are well drawn and very likable but each the secrets and family issues are causing problems. Great story. Plan to read this in one sitting.
Beautifully written storyline with very likeable characters that kept me totally enthralled throughout the whole book!
To Love … and … Renovate #2 – I didn’t get to read the first book of this series, which I think would have made this book more meaningful to me. Well written and easy to read with likable characters and a plot full of happenings. Of course, there’s wedding details still to be completed, working at their jobs and trying to wait for the wedding night, why wouldn’t there be drama? But there was fun and laughter, too. A good balance throughout the book. I liked Virginia’s calm approach to the wedding preparations. Oh, don’t forget the elephant in the pink tutu – the renovations. I appreciate this being a clean story, which only needed minor editing. I found this book on Booksprout.co. 4*

addiction of any kind is always hard. alcoholism is a difficult one is some ways because of how closely certain kinds of alcoholic use and abuse are tied to rites, rituals and rites of passage in our contemporary society.
As Tristan says at one point, he drank about as much as other foolish young men his age at the time, but he knew even then how it affected him differently. He also knew from his experiences with his father what the consequences could be.
Sometimes a functional drunk is a long standing burden to the family – and it may not always be more publicly recognized.
One who is occasionally loud mostly behind four walls, and super critical, still does damage to his marriage and his children.
One of the victims of this type of abuse can be the co-dependency of the spouse, another can be a culture of lies – covering up the slips of the drinker, following his controlling rules.
Tristan’s father was that kind of drinker – putting the kids on alert, the wife under verbal assault.
A confrontation between father and son resulted in daddy dearest striking his wife instead of his grown son, and breaking her jaw – and blaming the son.
As Pastor Phil says, troubles with our parents can spill over into our own marriages and families.
Virginia and Tristan have things to work on, and more roads ahead, which they hope to face with hope and faith – together.
