She needs a bodyguard, but not the one who refused her body nine years ago.
Sexy former Special Forces soldier? Devante Torrez.
High school crush who left her humiliated? Also Dev.
Last person she wants as her bodyguard? Yep…you guessed it.
Shelby Diamond has a stalker, and her Senator father enlists family friend and former Special Forces soldier, Devante Torrez, to be her protector. If she … Torrez, to be her protector. If she must have someone watch over her in close quarters, she’d prefer anyone other than the man who rejected her and never looked back—especially since she can’t get the noble jerk out of her mind.
After a career ending injury forces him out of the military, Dev doesn’t trust himself to keep her safe from the stalker, or himself, because he wants her as much now as he did when she offered her sixteen-year-old self to him on a silver platter—or a pink princess bed, as it were. When the stalker grows bolder and gets much too close for comfort, Dev is forced to take the job, and soon discovers saying no to Shelby in any shape or form is even harder than walking away from her all those years ago.

Yet another fabulous read in this series! What do you get when you have a SpecOps veteran and a feisty veterinarian with history between them? Sparks, and big ones! Dev and Shelby are thrown together with him as her bodyguard, when she confesses that she has a stalker. Being rejected by him at sixteen, she has no desire for his protection! Dev didn’t act on his feeling for her back then because she was far too young. Now he can’t act on them because he needs to keep her safe! The chemistry between these two is scorching, a healthy dose of lust on both sides and this story doesn’t disappoint! Read it today! Don’t forget to check out the entire series while you are at it!
To Love And Protect is an outstanding romantic suspense by Stacey Joy Netzel. Ms. Netzel has provided readers with another well-written book. The characters in this book are phenomenal and make this book a joy to read. Dev is forced from the military with a career-ending injury and isn’t sure what he’ll do next. Shelby is a veterinarian and is being stalked. When her father finds out he hires Dev to protect her when her first protector doesn’t do his job. Shelby and Dev’s story is loaded with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. I enjoyed every page of this book and look forward to my next book by Stacey Joy Netzel. To Love And Protect is book 4 of the Must Love Diamonds Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I’ve read a lot of books written by Stacey Joy Netzel; she has written another excellent book. She is one of my favorite authors.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
I loved the chemistry between Dev & Shelby.
I received a free Advanced Reader Copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
It feels like Christmas for me every time Stacey Joy Netzel releases one of her books. I have completely fallen for the Diamond family. Though all her books can be read independently, it is always fun to catch up with other characters and have some background,
In this 4th installment, Shelby the youngest of the Colorado Diamond children is being stalked and needs a bodyguard. At the same time, her first crush/love and family friend Devente (Dev) has returned home from the military after being honorably discharged from an injury.
Shelby’s family wants Dev to fill in as bodyguard, but neither wants that. Shelby because she is still mortified from when she offered herself to Dev 8 years ago and he turned her down, but also because she still gets butterflies whenever she sees him. Dev does not trust that he is physically up for the job, but also because he knows he is going to have a hard time focusing on the job of keeping her safe when all he wants to do is finally say yes to her offer.
Dev decides though that he is the only man for the job because the 1st bodyguard that was hired isn’t protecting her as he should, and he knows in his gut/heart that he will be the only one to truly keep her safe. It is when they are forced to live together for her safety and they both can not hold back what they feel for each other. All of their feelings for spill out to the present and they can resist each other any longer.
The sexual chemistry is only heightened in this book by the danger and raw emotions felt in this book. And gosh there is just something about a military man!
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, and I would honestly recommend this book. My biggest complaint is that it ended too soon.
Dev is such an honorable man. Shelby and Dev have a complicated history. She has loved him since she was a teenager but he was older than her. He has been in the service and returned injured. She has a stalker and his protective instincts kick in . I thoroughly enjoyed this and Recommend this book. I received an arc. This is my honest review.
