As I read these, I truly wonder why I didn’t read them all when I bought them. I am loving the way these Alpha male wolves pretty much get hit over the head with the emotions of finding ‘The One’.
This book opens with a bang as Landry Cooper waits in line at the bank to cash the check Jayden gave him instead of cash on their bet. In front of him is Everly Danu a beautiful woman who instigates a conversation with him as they wait in the line from hell. Even with the instant attraction he feels, he still catches the about to happen bank robbery.
Everly is stunned as all this goes down and waits with Landry’s teammates for him to finish up. Landry had quite a bit of explaining to do and ends up on leave with therapy involved. This gives him a lot of time to spend with Everly and these two are explosive.
Things go really well for them until he meets her family, at first all friendly and then everything blows up.
I find myself very curious about the therapist, while she doesn’t admit to knowing what he is, I have a feeling she knows.
Fast paced, family drama lots of new information on werewolves and plenty of sizzling heat.
I can’t wait to see who finds his ‘One’ next.
Paige Tyler has created another great addition to her SWAT series, this book can be a stand alone or read in the order it was written. The story begins with a bank robbery and the excitement and ends with just as much energy.
Ms. Tyler sure knows how to weave a great story and bring you along, page turner for sure!
To Love a Wolf is the 4th book in the SWAT series, a paranormal romance with a military/law enforcement trope. Each book is a stand alone novel and even though they share interconnecting characters they don’t have to be read in order. This book is action packed, has suspense, some family drama, hot chemistry, wonderful characters and a HEA. The men are Alphas, the women are strong and the wit between both are humorous.
Landry Cooper and Everly Danu meet while in line at the bank, Cooper asks her out and she tells him it will be his best date ever! Then several men attempt to rob it, one man grabs Everly, Cooper reacts and saves her and all the innocent people.
The date turns out to be great and Cooper realizes she may be “The One”. They spend every spare minute together and can’t keep their hands off each other. Things are going great when her father and brothers forbid her to see Cooper after he looks into an ancient mirror. She’s old enough to make her own decisions and tells them so. Her brothers tell her he is a Werewolf, like the man that killed their mom and she breaks up with him.
Will Everly realize that Cooper is not a monster or will it be to late to be “The One”?

Talk about prejudice, our heroine’ s family are pretty bad between misconceptions and their grief, they keep after it until they find a way to separate our hero and heroine. While that is enough to knock the strongest Wolf on his butt, figuring out the man who saved his life is also the bomber they’re chasing, that’s just doubly cruel.
To Love a Wolf is the fourth book to Paige Tyler’s SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team series. This time it’s Cooper’s time to find ‘The One.’ He doesn’t believe in finding his one true mate, though, until he meets her at the bank. I couldn’t wait to find out which lucky lady was going to steal Cooper’s heart.
Female Protagonist: Everly Danu is an Artist. I consider her a damsel in distress since she gets caught up in some dangerous scenarios in this book. Don’t get me wrong, I love books that have damsels in distress, but it seems her family sees her like that, too. Her brothers and father are very protective of her. It makes me think this poor girl will never have a boyfriend. (She does put her foot down when she meets Cooper.)
Male Protagonist: Landry Cooper is a SWAT officer who is a former military. I’ve wanted his book since the last book. He’s one male character that could handle anything, especially what happened to him in the military. He’s an alpha, which is one characteristic I love in male characters in books. He’s also very charming, even when he’s having to deal with a bank robbery when he’s trying to hook up with the beautiful girl in line.
My Thoughts: First, I’m going to state that this is not my favorite in the series (so far) because I have never been a big fan of the Instant Love Trope. I prefer characters that grow together if that makes sense. I have read some books that had an instant attraction, but sometimes it was due to one of the characters falling head over heels and not both characters. It was immediate with Cooper and Everly in this book. I’m also not a fan of Everly. I couldn’t connect with her, especially after she found out the truth about Cooper. She drove me crazy with how she handled the situation with Cooper.
Here are some things I did enjoy about To Love a Wolf:
Paige Tyler’s storytelling. This book has Cooper investigating someone that is using bombs in Dallas. One of the bombs ends up killing a police officer. He has to find out if there will be more bombs and if the bomber has a target.
Landry Cooper. I pretty much go over what I love about Cooper in the Male Protagonist section of the review. I fell for him before his book. Paige knows how to write alpha male characters.
I love werewolves and shapeshifters, and this book includes one of my favorite paranormal creatures.
Steaminess: Some steam.
Standalone/Part of Series: Part of series, but each can be read as standalone.
HEA: Yes.
Trope: Fated Mates, Instant Love/Attraction
Would I recommend this book? Yes. I recommend this book if you love the Paranormal Romance genre and love the Fated Mates and/or Instant Love Tropes. Overall, this book receives 3.5 stars from me. This book may not be a favorite, but other readers may enjoy it. I still love me some Cooper, though. Actually, I love all the sexy werewolves in SWAT. Thanks to Paige Tyler for writing this series and feeding my addiction to werewolves.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the publisher, Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
I won a copy of this book from the author, I was not required to give a favorable review. This is 4th book in this series and it keeps you on your toes through the whole thing. This one has a little twist to it. But Cooper gained his werewolf when he was injured to EOD in Iraq, and they thought he wouldn’t walk again, but now he is part of SWAT. He meets his ONE while saving her during a Bank robbery, he was in the bank to deposit a check for a bet he won when he met Everly in line. But little did they know there were bank robbers in the bank and he overheard it and tried to stop and save everyone. He had already asked her out for a date, but like always things went a little sideways. But little did they know that one date would lead to love, but a memory of how her mother died in France from a Omega werewolf that had been rebuffed by her. And poor Everly blanked out what happened. But now her dad and brothers don’t want her to see him. Plus they are looking for a bomber who happens to be Coopers old commanding officer and the man that saved his life. They are trying to get the real culprit for his injuries and lose of his fellow soldiers.
I liked that Landry found his One in Everly but not when that meant they spent so much time in bed. Most of the book was them having sex – in great detail. I was disappointed with this book. I wanted more about what they did as SWAT werewolves. Those parts were really good because of their exceptional senses and strength. I liked the SWAT team and how good they were at their jobs. It could have been a good story if there had been more about SWAT and less about sex.
When I was rating this book, I thought it was 2 stars until the last quarter then it improved to 3 stars for me. If you like steamy paranormal romantic suspense, you will enjoy this book.
