This was a fun story. This was a straight forward romance that was really refreshing. It was a quick good read. The author did a great job pulling me in. This is a proper romance
Loved it.
Overall, I thought it was a good story. It had good bones with the quality of characters and dialogue. Towards the end a couple plot points happened fast for me. I don’t want to give spoilers but it was with the cousin and the H & cousins love interest. So 3.5 for that part. The epilogue was great. I love hearing how people fair after the conclusion. I thought the romance was sweet.
This was the first book I’ve read from Michelle Pennington and I was extremely delighted by this gem. To Love a Lord had it all: fun, intrigue, romance, a cruel villain, a courageous heroine and a swoony hero. It’s one of those books you don’t want to put down. I can’t wait to read the next in the series when it’s released.
Great characters, sweet romance (except for a little spicy make out session) and plenty of intrigue. Loved it!
This was a great book that grabbed me from the beginning and didn’t let go. I loved the characters and the layers that were peeled back as the story progressed. Patience had a lot going against her, especially an Aunt that resented her presence in the house. Patience suppressed who she really was to keep the peace between her and her aunt. Lord Stanton was considered a “stick in the mud” and a stickler for propriety. I loved seeing that not all was as it seemed. The secondary characters made the story so much more entertaining. The mysterious note in the book added to the intrigue and the matches that were being made. I recommend this book to anyone that loves clean romance with lots of chemistry and a little intrigue.
I received a copy of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.
I enjoyed this Regency romance very much. It was a quick read with a happy ending.
Patience was determined to find true love even though her circumstances were dire. Her uncle had taken her in but her aunt despised her and wanted to be rid of her. She was determined to marry her off to someone, anyone, no matter the age or temperament. Patience had romantic thoughts of Lord Aston, who was a rake of the first order but the note he sent to her demonstrated his love for her, didn’t it?
Lord Stanton was prim and proper and above scandal. He was wealthy and he was fascinated by Patience. He had never met a woman like her before and he wanted to get to know her better. Lucky for him they were both invited to the Blakemore’s estate for a house party. Would he be able to convince Patience that he was the man for her or would she continue her fascination with Lord Aston?
I really enjoyed this story. It was a clean romance with no foul language or sex. The characters were well developed and I really loathed Patience’s aunt and Lord Aston. Her cousin, Amelia, redeemed herself toward the end. I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
