So long as the guys call him Boomer, Theodore Parker is content with his life. He has a place to stay, work to do, guys to hang out with—or fight with—when he wants, and the wilds of Montana to roam when he needs to be alone or go full bear. He has everything he needs. At least he thinks he does. Then, while he’s out logging with the guys, he finds a woman on the side of the hill, hurt and unable … hill, hurt and unable to remember who she is. When he takes her home to help her recover, he knows it isn’t a permanent arrangement. He knows she’ll have to go back to her old life someday.
But the more he’s around her, the more he realizes his life isn’t complete without her. He’s not so selfish as to doom her to a rough life with a bear-shifting mountain man, though. He wants what’s best for her, even if that means leaving him, destroying his contentment forever. So, he protects her and keeps quiet about his shifting, so she isn’t forced into something she doesn’t want.
What Emmy White wants, once she remembers herself, is Boomer. And safety from her past. What she doesn’t want is another relationship with a secretive, overprotective man. She thinks Boomer might be different, but how can she trust him when he won’t do the one thing she’s asked of him—give her the power to defend herself from the monster lurking in her past?
This book is book 1 of my brand new standalone series Lumberjack Bears. I hope you enjoy it!! – Emilia

Plot was fun. Lots of action. Drama. Some hotness.
Characters were great.
-Boomer was exactly as a bear shifter should be. Protective.
-Emmy is definitely a strong heroine. Fighter.
Can’t wait to read the other shifters stories.
Theodore Parker (or Boomer to his friends) is a grizzly bear shifter, he’s also a lonely shifter. He wants a mate, but where does he find one? Humans are too fragile, and if they find out about him, he either has to kill them or convert them (and that doesn’t always work)
He’s resigned himself to working with his crew and always being alone.
Emmy is on the run, always hiding, she can’t settle in one place for too long, she’s scared, but she won’t be taken ever again. Waking up to a handsome face at the bottom of a hill, Emmy has to wonder if her husband has sent someone to bring her home. But for the first time in what seems like forever, Emmy feels safe, it’s crazy, but if he isn’t here to bring her home, then she might just have a chance at happiness. If only she could remember.
Emmy and Boomer bounce around the attraction they have for each other. Emmy wants to stay, and Boomer wants her to stay, so what’s the problem?
She feels like he’s hiding something, something big!! And he is, but will he have the guts to tell her?
And when her past finds Emmy, what will Boomer do about it?
I liked this story, it sets up the rest of the 4 book series.
Great storylines, really good characters. Liked the amnesia story, Emmy not sure of where she came from, or her past, but she’s drawn to Boomer. The bears are all loners, but they’ve formed a pack of their own, they fight a lot, but usually only to let off steam.
Could do with being a little longer.
arc review I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Theodore (boomer) is a bear shifter on site with his clan working when he finds a human hurt with amnesia all he knows is her name is Emmy and he has to protect his mate. Awesome
This book does not rank as one of my favorites but it is something a little different. By the time I finished there was smile on my face.
Sadie and her kids are dysfunctional and loving none the less. She struggles like a lot of single mothers today but strives to do her best with what she got.
Dante is the alpha of his pack of misbegotten shifters keeping the in check in a town that fears them. He fears that he will not always be enough to protect them but he will do his best.

An interesting story, with great characters! This is a good story with an interesting plot. The characters are well developed and easy to get into. Emmy has been through a lot, and the story explores how her life changes. My only issue with the book were the times the story dragged, killing momentum with repetition of the same fears, and sometimes with details that I honestly skimmed over, but most of the book was exciting to read and developed nicely.
You’re going to love this bear of a book
Emmy, a former nurse on the run from her past, is found by Boomer, a lumberjack bear shifter, in between a bush and a tree with no memory of who she is. As the story progresses Emily slowly finds a new version of herself, Boomer and his bear argue over giving her choices, her past finds her and Boomer and friends help her overcome that test. To Love A Bear is a great shifter romance from Emilia Hartley, I would like to see her develop a series from this with Dominic, Morgan, Reid, Orion.
