Harper Lee’s Pulitzer prize-winning masterwork of honor and injustice in the deep south—and the heroism of one man in the face of blind and violent hatred, available now for the first time as an e-book. One of the best-loved stories of all time, To Kill a Mockingbird has been translated into more than forty languages, sold more than thirty million copies worldwide, served as the basis for an … enormously popular motion picture, and was voted one of the best novels of the twentieth century by librarians across the country. A gripping, heart-wrenching, and wholly remarkable tale of coming-of-age in a South poisoned by virulent prejudice, it views a world of great beauty and savage inequities through the eyes of a young girl, as her father-a crusading local lawyer-risks everything to defend a black man unjustly accused of a terrible crime.

I return to this book often. Lee writes beautifully and peoples her story with authentic and complex characters.
Not bad but it wasn’t exactly my cup of tea, I mostly read it out of curiosity and finished it because I just couldn’t let myself do so and because I wanted to see how it would end.
It does pick up which is something I wouldn’t know if I didn’t push through.
One of the RARE species….when a TRUE WRITER…can write just one book!
Southern story, loved and read the sequel too!
This is my absolutely favorite book of all time and I reread it regularly. Wonderful story, terrific characters, and beautiful prose. It is a timeless story.
An eye opener read. Deals with things that were unfortunate during those times.
Because the narrator’s point of view is that of a child, some how the innocence of a child comes through. It is a triumph for the writer, but as a reader I felt triumphant as a person and better for all that, having read it.
Best book ever written.
This is a classic. I loved the book, plays based on it and the movie.
One of my favorite books of all time
Simply one of the best!
My favorite book EVER! I love the innocence of the story told through the eyes of a six year old girl during America’s racial inequality. It reflects the pureness of her heart for all people. I admire her father who is a very honorable man and a good father. This book reminds me that good truly exists.
I studied this novel for my English Literature O level back in 1974/5 and it changed my life. The story taught me about tolerance and hope in a world of ignorance, prejudice and injustice. I wanted to be an author and write a novel as moving and memorable as this.
So, having such profound memories of the novel, would I still love it forty years …
A classic. One of the all-time great books.
Timeless message of tolerance and doing what right that still reverberates today.
Easily at the top of American lit. list.
An iconic book with great character development. I didn’t want to leave the characters for too long – made you want to know how it ends.
One of the best American novels of all time. A “must read”!
Tops in the 100 must read catagory
I thought it was a wonderful, realistic story. The characters were great and memorable. The story was heartwarming and made me think about the times
we live in. I grew up in the South and I found it true to life in many aspects. Over the years, I have read and re-read this book. It will always remain in my collection.
