Harper Lee’s Pulitzer prize-winning masterwork of honor and injustice in the deep south—and the heroism of one man in the face of blind and violent hatred, available now for the first time as an e-book. One of the best-loved stories of all time, To Kill a Mockingbird has been translated into more than forty languages, sold more than thirty million copies worldwide, served as the basis for an … enormously popular motion picture, and was voted one of the best novels of the twentieth century by librarians across the country. A gripping, heart-wrenching, and wholly remarkable tale of coming-of-age in a South poisoned by virulent prejudice, it views a world of great beauty and savage inequities through the eyes of a young girl, as her father-a crusading local lawyer-risks everything to defend a black man unjustly accused of a terrible crime.

I read this book at least twice a year. I just love the journey it takes you on.
Deserves everything that’s written about it – AWESOME.
This is one of my all time favorites. Stunning characters. Great writing and a true picture of the South at that time.
What can one say about this masterpiece that hasn’t been said before? Written in an era when racism was even uglier than it is now, “Mockingbird” takes on what would have been a slam-dunk death penalty case in a sleepy Southern town. A classic!
Best book I have read. In fact, I have read it more than five times; I will read it again. I taught reading for 38 years and work part time in a library; I have read many books. Still the best book ever.
Overrated.
I deserved its place at the top of the Great American Read list.
The story in timeless!
My favorite book of all time. It’s teaches the reader about racism at it’s worst in the deep South and about a skilled attorney who fights it in the courts. I read it years ago and I have read hundreds (maybe thousands) of books since and it remains my favorite. The lawyer’s daughter is precocious and memorable.
This is probably my favorite book.
A book everyone should read, an American classic.
One of the best books I’ve ever read. Reread several times
One of the all time great books, everyone should read!
My all-time favorite book.
One of the most beloved novels of the South, TKAM is THE required reading for every school’s 9th-grader in Alabama. Opens up discourse that is in-depth and real. Children who are far removed from Jim Crow days will have their eyes and hearts opened. The BEST book of the century!
Excellently written by a master. This book is a classic!
Re-read this book recently… liked it even more the second time.
This reminds us how innocent and accepting children are. We can take a lesson from them.
Simply the best. I read it annually.
