In To Kill A Killer, we find Tanner on a mission. His mission is to seek and kill Maurice Scallato, the Italian assassin who is plotting to kill him because there’s only room for one greatest assassin and Scallato wants that to be his position in life. Both Tanner and Scalatto think they are the best and there can only be one “world’s greatest assassin.”
With Sara Blake, Tanner’s once sworn enemy, at his side in this joint mission, he searches for Scalatto, to kill him before he can kill Tanner #7. We know Tanner will be the victor. That is a given, but will Sara survive the mission? A woman who once swore to kill Tanner has become Tanner’s partner, friend, and lover. If she doesn’t survive the mission, how will Tanner handle her demise?
Time and time again, Scalatto escapes Tanner’s grasp, as do Tanner and Sara escape his well-devised ambushes. This is a rip-roaring, globe-spanning roller-coaster of a thrill ride. A genuine page turner. A book that you won’t be able to put down even when life forces you to. The nonstop action will keep you glued to the edge of your seat.
Tanner and Scallato are both assassin, but Scallato is the villain in this story. He has no morals, no ethics, and will do anything to survive, to become the world’s greatest assassin. He proves that at the beginning, when he kills his older brother, during an assassination to become his father’s successor, in the Scallato line of assassins. Tanner has a moral code he lives by, he will not kill the innocent. Will that code in the end cost him his life or Sara’s life?
This is one of those books where we, the reader, will not know the outcome until the very last page. When the last confrontation arrives… well, you will just have to read the book to find out what happened and how it happened.
Decent book. Good story line with some interesting twists. Dialogue seemed forced and contrived at times.
This was an entertaining book. It was well paced and kept my interest. This is part of a series and I had not read others prior to this one, but it is still easy to follow
EXCELLENT READ. ORIGINAL.
Love all Remington Kane books
I didn’t finish the book.
My first Tanner book, interested enough to start with number one in the seies. Enjoyed it but it dragged near the end and became somewhat drawn out. One more twist as implausible and unfortunately as predictable as it was.
My first for Remington Kane. Really enjoyed this book, starting another.
A little slow didn’t develop the characters enough for me
Other than the premise of the book, namely, an egocentric assassin, Scallato, plots to kill another top assassin, Tanner, just to prove that he is the best, It was fast-paced and quite entertaining. Scallato is repeatedly within seconds of killing Tanner, only to have Sara or something else thwart him. Tanner is similarly close to winning the game only to have Scallato do something incredible, like kill his wife and two children and jump out of a window to escape. Tanner tracks Scallato and at the same time isolates him from the Mafia boss who supports him. The end, which was inevitable from the start, is Tanner killing Scallato.
Decent read for light diversion.
It was full of action and good writing
Didn’t like the characters.
A good read! This the first book I’ve read of this author and I look forward to reading even more. I want the back story of the characters in this book and want to see where they go after this book.
Come along for the ride! Fast paced, fun read!
Excitement on every page. Thanks for writing.
Just OK. Parts of it were a little too unbelievable.
Well written…orginal plot…
As with all of the books in the series, and I’ve read them all to date, I found it enjoyable, action packed, but not a read for the squeamish, as some scenes may be a bit over the top for some.
Only ok
