The only flaw in this book and its sequels is a lack of proper proofreading. I see a number of word substitutions and other misuses (wrong form of its/it’s, “sew” for “sow”, etc.) that take my pedantic mind out of the story for the time it takes to notice the error and find it irritating. But the characters and the world are both terrific, and I definitely recommend reading the whole series.
too verbose for my taste but an interesting story.
Predictable. Think Shogun.
I got completely disinterested after about 100 pages
So-so. Fairly derivative.
Only read a few chapters… hard time getting interested. May try again.
