So you may ask, who is Adam Connor? He is the recently divorced, Academy Award-winning actor who just moved in next door with his kid. He also happens to be an exquisite male specimen and the most infuriating sly bastard I’ve ever come across.Let’s be honest here, wouldn’t you wanna take a peek over the wall to catch a glimpse of him, hopefully when he is naked? Wouldn’t you melt away after … after watching him work out as his five-year-old kid cheered him on? Do I even have to mention those abs, the big bulge in his pants, or that arm porn? Oh, wait, you would never spy on him? Sure…
While I was being thoughtful by not breaking and entering and was actually considering going over to offer him a shoulder—or maybe a boob or two—to cry on (y’know, because of his divorce), instead he had me thrown in jail after a small incident. Jail, people! He was supposed to grant me countless orgasms as a thank you, not a jail cell.
After that day, I was mentally plotting ways to strangle him instead of jumping his bones to make sweet love. So what if my body did more than just shiver when he whispered dirty little things in my ear? I can’t be held responsible for that. And when was the last time he’d kissed anyone anyway? Who’d enjoy a kiss with a side of heart attack?
Even if he and his son were the best things since sliced bread—and I’m not saying he was—I couldn’t fall for him. No matter what promises he whispered on my skin, my curse wouldn’t let us be. I wasn’t a damsel in distress—I could save myself, thank you very much—but deep inside, I still hoped Adam Connor would be the hero of my story.
Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18

I guess you could say Lucy is a little difficult to get along with. She sets a high bar for the most stubborn and contrary heroine I’ve read in awhile.
She hides her insecurities with bravado. Her best friend Olive gets her, and so does her husband Jason. She is staying with them when she has an unfortunate first encounter with their neighbor, actor Adam Connor. What happens next makes her hate him.
Swoony single dad is a favorite trope of mine. This is done very well in TO HATE ADAM CONNOR. There is a lot of witty banter, quirkiness and steamy canoodling to result in a book I really enjoyed reading.
Absolutely freaking loved To Hate Adam Connor this book was everything that i loved, enemies to lovers, single dad, and drama and loved every bit of it.
This story really had it all it was a slow burn as the main characters first hated each other when they met. The way they met was such a funny story even though it could have been tragic but the banter between Adam and Lucy was electrifying straight away.
I loved Adam he seemed grumpy at the start but what he was dealing with you couldn’t blame him and then you had Lucy who firmly believed she was cursed when it came to love.
I knew i couldn’t wait to read Lucy’s story after meeting her To Jason Thorn she was so funny and crazy and i loved it. I especially love Aiden in this story he was cute and special and he was a great character. I loved that we got so much more of Olive and Jason as well.
This book had it all i laughed i cried and i swooned it had the feels that i crave in a book and again can’t wait to read more Ella Maise books
This book is the most hilarious enemy to lover book, that I have read in a long time. It has all the feelings, single father raising a very adorable five-year-old son and a girl-next-door, I laugh so much during this book that I had to stop a few points while in public because I looked like a crazy person. If you’re looking for a fun, emotional and funny book that makes you want to read it again and again; this one for you.
I have always attempted to give ‘star’ ratings on my completed reads, just as a tracking method for my titles that I have completed. I have unlimited packages for audio, kindle, and utilize the local/state library.
However, I do not check the ‘I recommend this book’ unless I am willing to reread a book and or a series.
[I read about 5-15 books a month through kindle, and I listen to about 15-30 books monthly]
I have a full life as a nurse, professor, wife, daughter [daughter in law], sister, and mother. I love to read and love a thousand other lives by turning the pages in countless books.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide a review. Happy reading 🙂
Lucy is the best friend of Olive (from book 1) and after being dumped by her boyfriend she moves in with Olive and Jason temporarily. Next door is the house of yummy Adam Connor, actor and dad of little Aiden. After she has been uh… Observing Adam from across the wall (on a ladder) she finally meets him after saving his son but being arrested for her trouble.
Lucy is a spitfire and she and Adam clash constantly, but she loves his kid and they both feel a sizzle. Lucy thinks she is cursed and will never find love, so she only wants sex. But is she able to keep her feelings platonic? A discovery brings her ex back in her life, but is that what she wants?
The story is well written, funny, has a great storyline. Olive and Jason are in the story as secondary characters, which I enjoyed. But this story is as good as the first. Lucy and Adam rock! (2016)
Ella Maise is a new to me author. Lucy is a stalker, and a little annoying. I almost gave up on this book because she was crossing some privacy lines and some of the cringe worthy things she did or said. She was also immature, her internal musings and attitude were weird. I just did not relate to her. Adam and Aiden are both charming, and cute. Don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy the story, just had a hard time getting past Lucy’s strange behavior.
Wow! I love To Hate Adam Connor!! FLOVED Lucy! She was such a strong and in her mind a cursed heroine. Aiden melted my heart. Adam… Sexy, dirty, and so loveable. What a great story its fun, hot and has mild angst! Highly recommend this read!!
I loved, loved, loved this book! Everything about it! It was funny, great banter and it was hot A movie star single dad who is totally into his kid…supa hot! Lucy, oh Lucy. I love her so hard. To me, she made the whole book. I love her relationship with her bestie “little green Olive.” Two thumbs up and a go forth and read this great book!
