“You think I’m ready to ruin you forever?”“Oh, Ireland… You’ve already ruined me forever.”I’ve been called the Black Sheep. Troublemaker. And probably a dozen other words that are nowhere near that nice. My past is checkered. Full of questionable choices and even worse outcomes. But I’ve put it behind me. I’m on the straight and narrow now.For two years, I’ve towed the line. Stayed out of … the line. Stayed out of trouble. Kept my head above water. And have not made even one reckless decision.
But then Snow came to River Canyon on the first day of winter.
Inked, pierced, and unafraid of speaking her mind, and going after what she wants, she made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. Together, I knew we would make a mess.
I just couldn’t keep myself from getting dirty.

Ryan has made alot of poor choices, he thinks he is the black sheep of his family. He learns to lean on his family for help. He meets Snow and instantly feels attracted to her. She is the new tattoo artist in town. They both feels like the town’s outcasts, but they both work together. Can they overcome their pasts to stay together? Oh my gosh, you will love his cats. I can’t wait to read Sean’s story. This can be read as a standalone, but after reading this you will want to read all Kelsey Kingsley’s books
I recommend this series whole heartedly. Flawless writing, a unique storyline, and perfectly imperfect characters make this book a very special read. I couldn’t put it down, Ryan and Snow stole my heart. Kelsey Kingsley is remarkable at what she does. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to reading Sean’s story next. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book, this review is written with my honest opinion.
Loved the relationship between Ryan and Snow. The dynamic of their relationship is fun and adventurous. The are two lost souls that find peace with each other. Recommended and look forward to the next book.
Ryan is the black sheep of the family. After a series of personal missteps and with the help of his family, Ryan has managed to get his life in order. Then Snow walks into his life. She’s this sassy, tattooed, very forward beautiful girl who lets it known very quickly that if Ryan wants her, he can have her. Ryan knows that bringing Snow into his life is probably a bad idea, but he does it anyway.
Snow is unlike anyone Ryan has met before. She quickly becomes a fixture around his apartment and the two find themselves spending a lot of time together. She refuses to label their relationship and Ryan is okay with that until he isn’t. Their relationship progresses quite quickly and they reach that point where their relationship is going to sink or swim.
I really enjoyed this book. It had a different feel than anything else I have read lately. Ryan and Snow didn’t have a conventional relationship, but they are also not conventional people. They accept each other for who they are and they don’t want to change anything about the other person and that is what is most important.
I’ve become such a fan of Kelsey’s writing and I look forward to reading about the third Kinney brother, Ryan’s twin, Sean.
I fell so hard for Ryan and Snow! Snow was so bold and unafraid to go after what she wanted. Ryan was so afraid of disappointing someone else. She craved honesty. He craved stability. They both needed to be loved for who they were. Behind all the ink, these soul mates were deeply connected and you knew they were destined to be together from the moment they met. Getting to their happily ever after was amazing.
I received an advanced reader opy of this book and have chosen to review it.
Perfection! That’s what I felt after reading To Fall for Winter. This is the second book in the Kinney brother series and I cannot decide which one I loved more. If you haven’t read One Night to Fall I highly suggest that you read it first. Each book stands alone but this is a story of family in a small Connecticut town where everyone knows everyone. Most supporting characters will be in both books and are a part of each other’s daily lives. Ryan is the screw up Kinney brother. The boy that was always making poor decisions and didn’t know what direction to go in life. Now he’s 30, no longer a boy but a man without a compass. Snow comes to town. She’s walking, talking trouble in Ryan’s opinion and he doesn’t want to be attracted to trouble anymore but he can’t help himself. Snow is an enigma, open about her opinions, sexuality and speech but closed up about her past. Ryan and Snow are imperfectly perfect people that do not look like or live by society’s norms but they truly are perfect for each other. When someone asked me what To Fall for Winter was about I said “Irishmen, angst, tattoos, cats and snow. Not necessarily in that order!’ There are moments that will make you laugh and moments that will bring a tear to your eye and for me as a reader, that is truly perfection. Kelsey Kingsley is very talented writer to capture all the elements in this series and I cannot wait to see what she comes out with next. To Fall for Winter is written in first person POV from Ryan’s perspective. I felt that it worked really well in this book.
Gah! This book! My first piece of advice is to buy this book. My second piece of advice is to set aside an afternoon where you can read it cover to cover. Putting down this book was torture. I absolutely love Ryan and Snow!
So, back in December, I read One Night to Fall. I really enjoyed it, but there were times with Patrick that made me want to shake him. I have to admit, I started reading To Fall for Winter wondering if Ryan would be the same. Let me assure you, Kelsey Kingsley does not stick to one character type. Ryan and Patrick are very different from one another, and I have to admit Ryan is definitely my new favorite Kinney. I actually have no complaints at all when it comes to him. However, I loved that we got to check back in with Patrick and Kinsey in this book!
Okay, so why did I love Ryan and Snow? They are perfectly imperfect. They both have tough exteriors wrapping up these soft, kind, wounded hearts. They have both been hurt in the past, and judged by others based on their appearances, but they really find themselves when they are together. While they aren’t expecting it, they are the perfect compliment to one another. I absolutely love that we get to discover so much of what makes them tick as their story unfolds. It is the perfect don’t judge a book by its cover story.
And together, they are wonderful. Their relationship may grow unexpectedly, but it is like a beautiful wildflower that can’t be tamed or contained. It’s like their hearts were looking for one another all this time, and they refuse to let anything get in their way. Their passion is beyond evident, but it isn’t limited to their physical relationship. They bring out buried passions, talents and ambitions, in one another. They help each other succeed in ways they couldn’t or wouldn’t on their own. They are truly better together. Things they once saw as faults or disappointments are no longer an issue. Instead, together they are able to embrace who they are and become the best versions of themselves.
I love the whole Kinney family. We got to know Patrick and Kinsey in book one of this series, and I loved checking in on them again. I also loved getting to know the rest of the family better. The way Ryan’s parents are with him may not always be perfect, but their love for him is so evident. And his grandma is fantastic! Everyone needs someone like her in their lives. And Sean, oh Sean. I can’t wait to know more about him! Is it May yet?
This is definitely a book you need to check out. It is the second in series, but it can definitely be read as a standalone. That said, I would start at the beginning and read in order. Since we get to check back in, those scenes are more meaningful when you have their full story.
I received an advanced copy of this book with no expectations from or obligations to the author.
To Fall for Winter is the second book in the Kinney Brothers series and revolves around Ryan Kinney. The first book, One Night to Fall is the oldest Kinney brother, Patrick’s story. While these are both stand-alones, I would recommend reading in order.
Now, this book. Gah. I love characters that are a little bit flawed–a little bit outside of the norm and that is precisely what we get with Ryan and Snow.
“Two unconventional people, trying to sprout wings in a world of people wanting them to change.”
That, right there, sums it up perfectly. We have these two unique people trying to figure out how to love each other when love is something that has not worked out so well for them in the past. They are flawed and confused and love shows up and hits them squarely between the eyes and they are not quite sure what to do with it. This beautifully written story shows us how they work that out TOGETHER. I just loved it.
“Maybe that’s all any relationship was, I thought; finding a flavor of insanity to complement your own.”
This book is perfection. Ryan, the black sheep of his family, has been making bad decisions his whole life. He finally decides it’s time to get his life together, and he is succeeding. Then, Snow accidentally walks into the vet office that he works at, and her smart mouth and attractive looks turns his world upside down.
I love this sweet story about Love, and moving forward from your past. I also think that Ryan and his cats may be my absolute favorite. The characters are all awesome in this book as well. One click, you won’t be sorry!
To Fall for Winter is my second book by Kelsey Kingsley and she has made a fan for life with her writing. In this book, we get to meet the black sheep of the Kinney family. Ryan Kinney found his kind of crazy that he didn’t know he was missing when Snow walked in the wrong door. Ryan and Snow were instant, these two fit together like puzzle pieces. Ryan thinks he is a disappointment to his family, but it’s the friendship and love of Snow that helps him realize that he’s not. I love Kinney family, always there for one another. It was good to have the moments with Patrick and Kinsey and get to know a little more about Sean.
I think I relented more to this couple than any other couple I have read about, it was their instant connection and how they were what each other needed at that moment in life. I should know, I meet my crazy 17 years ago. Let’s not forget about the cats; liked that their names slowly change as Ryan and Snow’s relationship grew.
Can’t wait to read about “the perfect son” Sean.
Warmth in Winter!
This is a love story between to flawed, multifaceted, and vulnerable beings. The hero and heroine are intriguing and compelling and share great banter and chemistry.
Ryan Kinney considers himself the black sheep of his family. He pushed limits and courted trouble in the past. With the help of his family, he turned over a new leaf. He is leading a routine, predictable, “normal” life.
Snow is new in townwhen she wanders into Ryan’s place of work. Her stunning exterior is nothing compared to her bold, uninhibited personality. Ryan feels instantly drawn to her, yet at the same time irritated by her presence.
The relationship between Ryan and Snow is unconventional, honest, and comforting. I love how every conversation and every touch is intentional. They are both scarred by past relationships, but they are at different stages in their healing. The beauty of their connection is that of understanding and support. There is no judgement of past mistakes.
This is my first Kelsey Kingsley read. I loved her character development. The inner dialogue is compelling and genuine. It gives the reader great insight into the character’s psyche and soul. Her writing is descriptive in a way that is tangible. You can see and feel these characters and you will get thoroughly wrapped up in their world.
To Fall for Winter reminds us that:
1. Love is beautiful
2. Everyone deserves to be loved for exactly who they are, flaws and all.
3. As crazy as life seems, maybe crazy is what we need.
Great read! I am looking forward to the next book in this series. I can’t wait to get more of this fun, loyal, loving family.
She was spontaneity. She was unpredictability. She was winter. She was mine.
Ryan. Ryan. Ryan. This sexy, tattooed, insecure, and maybe a little broken, perfect specimen of a man had my heart all mushy. His journey through life is not the stuff conventional romances are made of, and that made me love him even more. Ryan has had NO luck with women, and those that he has been with have only taken his self-worth with them on the way out the door.
Snow is his perfect counterpart. She is so much more than I expected. Her bluntness was exciting and had me rooting for her hard. She is covered in tattoos, comes up with a cutesy nickname for Ryan, and she tells it like it is. While Snow is refreshing and demands honesty, I wondered what she was hiding, but I was not expecting or prepared for it. Whoa! These two have layers of complexity and insecurity, and it is beautiful. Their story is a must!
The Kinney family is there for one another and close-knit, so of course Patrick and Kinsey and the rest of the family are around.
Kelsey has written a beautifully, exquisite love story!
