I have loved this whole series & this book was also a really good one. The animosity between this duo stems from Lady Clara Quinton & Mr. Stephen Grant disastrous encounter in Clara’s first season. The bickering, bantering and prejudice between this couple was entertaining but when Stephen rescues her on the streets of London one night, they form a truce. A truce at the perfect time as Clara needed support during her father’s failing health with dementia and Stephen steps up and helps Clara through the difficult time.
After spending so much time together, they learn the errors in their beliefs about each other and form a awesome and romantic love – but now they must face society’s scorn of a match between a duke’s daughter and a Mr. I highly recommend this book and the entire series – you will enjoy all of them! They are all well written with wonderful characters that you will love & great stories to support them.
Having insulted Stephen Grant’s sister in the worst way, he has no respect whatsoever for Lady Clara, daughter of the Duke of Law. Nevertheless, when the lady needs his assistance, Stephan doesn’t stand back but goes to her rescue. Finding that she is his new neighbour puts a totally different spin on their difficult relationship and as Stephan becomes more aware of Clara’s circumstances, his admiration for her goes up. When Clara sees how he handles her ailing father, she cannot help but be grateful to Stephan. Initially, there is a tremendous amount of antagonism between the two characters and even though one feels for Clara, she hardly endears herself to the reader. Stephan is no saint either. To start with, there is a lot of friction in this novel with a small amount of suspense. It is romantic and although not heart-warming, the main characters do complement one another. This novel is well written and forms part of a series, with characters from previous books appearing in this one too, nevertheless, it is a standalone and comes to a good conclusion. I received a copy of this novel as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
To modern day sensibilities Lady Clara must to some readers appear to be a stuck up snob but if you have been told from birth that it is your duty to your family to marry from the highest echelons of society and that has been drummed into you, I can understand why she would be torn by her feelings for a plain Mister.
My opinion of Stephen took a strong dive when he seduced her the night of her father’s funeral but apart from that I very much enjoyed their romance.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book gifted by the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Tamara Gill never fails to amaze me. In “To Fall for a Kiss,” she has transported me to a beautiful sensual world. Lady Clara Quinton, a spoiled Duke’s daughter and Stephen Grant, a Marquess’ brother in law have been at each other’s throats since they first met because of their social status along with a certan disdain by Clara as Stephen’s sister married the man she wanted to. The result of a strong thunderstorm leaves Stephen stranded at the Duke’s estate with him and his daughter and sparks fly at every encounter. But there’s more to Clara that meets the eye… she is a devoted caring daughter to her father, the Duke, who is suffering from bouts of memory loss. What Stephen sees makes him change his mind about how much of a callous viper he thought her to be. A beautiful story of not judging someone based on material wealth.

To Fall for a Kiss is the fourth book in Tamara Gill’s Kiss the Wallflower series.
Based on the first book in the series and her actions toward Louise and her siblings, I did not like Lady Clara. I found her to be arrogant and condescending. When I saw that Lady Clara was the heroine in To Fall for a Kiss I assumed that I probably wouldn’t enjoy it very much because I woudn’t be able to sympathize with her character. But that was not the case at all, I loved this book and by the end of the story I really liked Clara’s character.
When the books starts, she is still incredibly unlikable and antagonizing. Normally in a historical romance, it the male lead who is more of a villain and has to grow and redeem himself before he can be ready for love. It is far less oftent that you find one in which the female lead must redeem herself, which is part of what make this book so refreshing and enjoyable to read. Plus there isn’t any quick transformation for Clara and I appreciated her character more for the stumbles she made along the way, made her more human. Although at times she did enfuriate me.
I really loved Stephen. He was such a good character and a sweet man. And I loved him all the more when he respected himself enough to walk away when she threw his upbringing back in his face. Nothing would have disappointed me more than had he stuck around to try to change her mind after she treated him so terribly.
To Fall for a Kiss has been one of my favorite books in the series and I recommend it to others who enjoy historical romance. You dont have to read the entire series in order as all relevant information is detailed as you read. But all the characters are connected so reading them together could make them more enjoyable.

Another Fabulous Read by Tamara Gill! To Fall For a Kiss is book 4 in the Kiss the Wallflower series and what a series it has been. If you have not read a Tamara Gill book you are in for quite a treat. Tamara’s stories are so original and To Fall For a Kiss will not disappoint. If you like a good banter you will just love the banter in this story. You fall in love with her characters, they are just so wonderful. This story has a long time resentment, misunderstandings, a rain storm, an ill family member, a love for a father, death, comfort and yes love. I highly recommend this book. You won’t be disappointed.
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Enemies to Lovers. Can’t help but love these types of romances where the H/h are at each other’s throats with insults, barbs and sarcastic comebacks. When Clara lost the man, she set her cap on to a commoner, the woman, her sister and brother all became her enemies. Every chance she had she would be disrespectful and dismissive to them as she was the daughter of a duke and they were nothing. The worst of the disdain was heaped on the brother Stephen. They behaved like cats and dogs. Hissing and barking when they would encounter each other. But underneath their animosity was kind, caring, loyal people. When Clara encounters danger on an excursion with a Lord, Stephen comes to her rescue. Months later Stephen moves into the neighboring estate to Clara and at her father’s request she must offer a welcome gift and an invite to dine with them. When Clara’s father, the Duke, slowly starts to deteriorate from an unknown disease, it is Stephen who is there for her. He becomes her rock. Through all their angry banter one day it is interrupted by a bruising kiss. Shocked Clara does not know what to do. Logically she is supposed to hate him but emotionally she is falling for him. As the situation with the Duke becomes grave the closer Stephen and Clara become. Underneath all of Clara’s bravado is a sensitive, tender, loving daughter. Stephen sees how Clara treats her father and how she cares for him. But he also witnesses the heartache and pain she suffers. He cannot help but reach out to her to offer his tender loving support. When things become serious between them Clara must reject Stephen because she as a duke’s daughter must marry well. She knows she would become the topic of ridicule and gossip if she entertained entering into an open courtship with Stephen. She spurns him and he walks away thinking the worse of her. That she never really changed from the socialite brat that he always thought she was. What has Clara done? She just lost her father and now she lost her best friend and lover. She turns to her superficial friends of the ton but she finds no peace or satisfaction being among them. In the meantime, Stephen runs off to his sister’s home in Scotland and broods for four months. His sister kicks him out and tells him to fight for Clara and don’t look back. Will he win her back? Will Clara follow her heart or the societal rules of courting? An interesting and emotional read.
Another wonderful story from Tamara Gill!!! A definite one-click buy for me!
First impressions aren’t always the best and impressions / opinions can change. Lady Clara and Stephen’s story, book 4 in the fabulous Kiss the Wallflower series, shows us that!
Clara and Stephen have shared a mutual dislike is each other for some time when a situation arises where Clara needs assistance and Stephen comes to her rescue. She is surprised that he seems more than willing to help her, and though she dislikes him, she definitely trusts him more than the odius Lord Peel at present! But what bothers her now is… How can she continue to hate him after he helped her like that?
After Stephen rents his brother-in-law’s country home, becoming neighbor to Lady Clara and her father, the Duke of Law, he notices something is wrong with the duke. Again he offers to help Clara, this time with her father. They start spending more and more time together and begin to see each other much differently. Obviously nothing is easy, but Ms. Gill’s way of telling a story make it feel that way!! Be sure to grab a copy of this story! You will certainly enjoy it!!
This is a good story that the snotty little wallflower, Clara, stays true to her heritage as the daughter of a duke.
She acts outrageous to the untitled wife of the Marquess she thought she would be marrying.
Stephen may not have a title or a deep pocketbook but he will not tolerate anyone being rude to his sister.
When they happen to be thrown together at the worst time of Clara’s life, they both have time to discover there is more to each of them than they thought.
I enjoyed to book and recommend it.
Loved the series
To Fall for A Kiss by Tamara Gill is a delightful, steamy historical romance! If you like an enemies-to-lovers trope, To Fall for a Kiss is the book for you! Stephen and Clara dislike each other upon sight and are also from different classes–making for a rough ride to finding true love! The characters are charming and have great chemistry. Expect lots of sexual tension and romantic moments! To Fall For a Kiss (Kiss the Wallflower Book 4) Tamara Gill
To Fall for a Kiss is the fourth in the Kiss the Wallflower series. Tamara Gill has brought us a wonderful enemies to lovers story of Clara and Stephen. I loved following their story as they work past their dislike for each other. I look forward to the next book from this author.
Lady Clara is not happy when she finds that Mr. Stephen Grant is now her neighbor. The have never liked each other. She is the daughter of a duke and considers him beneath her although his sisters have married a Marquess and an Earl. The dislike on Stephens part came about when Lady Clara and her circle of mean girls were rude (really rude) to him and his sisters. Even so, Stephen has come to Clara’s rescue in a touchy situation, just as a true gentleman should. He is there for her again when her father dies from a lingering disease. They begin to lose some of their dislike for each other, and in fact, it looks as though they might be falling in love. That might have been true, but Clara turns down his proposal, and for the same old reason, he is beneath her in social standing. Stephen leaves. Clara goes back to London and society. I guess some things never change, or do they?
When Lady Clara and Stephen meet, she is the typical haughty, conceited society debutante. She is rude and condescending. She is intelligent and manages her father’s estates along with the steward, and she is cares for her father throughout his illness. Inside the society miss hides a good person. Stephen Grant is a sweetheart. He loves his sisters and gets along with his brothers-in-law who are both from nobility. He may not be from a noble family, but he is always a gentleman (except for a few times with Lady Clara and her friends). He is the perfect hero for Clara, if she will accept him. This is a lovely emotional story. There is some excitement, but not a lot of action. Stephen and Clara’s story is the last in the Kiss the Wallflower series. I enjoyed and recommend this story and the series.
Clara-just when you think you really don’t care for her, she surprises you.
Stephen-always a gentleman trying to do the right thing and is disliked for something he had no control over.
Their relationship is bumpy from the beginning but leave it to Ms.Gill to ensure both characters get exactly what they need to be forever happy.
Clara’s father tugged at my heartstrings. Stephen really showed what a wonderful man he is with the way he handled the dementia. It helped Clara see him in a new light.
Stephen and Clara’s struggles were real. One with a title, one without. Society put so many conditions on relationships during those times. I loved how Ms. Gill handled the challenges and brought me around to liking Clara.
This was a perfect ending to an outstanding series.
Sometimes dislike can turn to love. But such did not seem the case with Lady Clara Quinton, a duke’s daughter and Mr Stephen Grant. Having met at her first come out, their encounter did not go well and when the man she had a tendre’ for married his sister, she definitely took a dislike to him.
They do seem to steer clear of each other through the years except, he did help her escape a leacherous peer in Covent Gardens and she was thankful for that.
But when he moves into the estate next door to her and her father, she hopes that she will see him rarely. Unfortunately her father’s health and memory are deteriorating and when Stephen comes to dinner, he sees what is happening.
When a chance occurance leaves them stranded together, they each begin to find out possibly their opinions of each other have been wrong. But will it lead to love?
Really enjoyed this addition to this series as I have since reading the first story. Don’t miss it!
Lady Clara Quinton is rescued from an unwanted suiter in Covent Garden when Mr. Steven Grant, a man she’s never befriended, in fact she loathes him and his family. She’s not sure why he would help her, but very thankful for his intervention and help. Lady Clara has had quite enough of romance and society decides for her father’s health to take him back to their country estate. After returning home she discovers Stephen is a landlord at the property adjacent to her country estate. The two become better acquainted when he’s stranded at the duke’s home during a rain storm. It seems all these two can do is trade barbs and insults, it refreshing to see their relationship change as they both come to know one another better and a romance blooms taking them both by surprise. An excellent story with wonderful characters I voluntarily wrote a review for.
Lady Clara Quinton and Mr. Stephen Grant had been at war with each other for a long time. The spat started when Stephen’s sister married the man Clara loved. She, the daughter of a duke, passed over for a mere miss! The gall! And let’s be honest: Clara is a snob, and Stephen very protective of his sister. Clara and Stephen been trading insults and slights, everyone knows they cannot stand each other. Nothing had changed until the day the ever gallant Stephen rescues Clara from a potentially dangerous encounter with an admirer, and an aristocrat.
Enemies to lovers tropes are not my favourites, but Tamara Gill takes it to a whole new level with the scintillating TO FALL FOR A KISS! Their quarrel is real; it’s not a silly plot device. Both Clara and Stephen are flawed, but Clara is a real snotty little witch! The banter is absolutely terrific; I could almost hear them argue. For once, I believed in their animosity. I loved that not much changed after Stephen’s chivalrous gesture; Clara was just a trifle less antagonistic. The stroke of genius here is the presence of the Duke of Law, Clara’s father. He plays indirectly a pivotal role in the romance, and it is brilliant! They are all such wonderfully fleshed-out characters!
The villain is a nasty – and entirely credible – piece of work, but the best of all is the extraordinary character growth that occurs for the romance to blossom. There was no magical cure, no sudden epiphany; Clara and Stephen earned their happily ever after. TO FALL FOR A KISS is exceptionally well plotted, and with all the verbal sparring, never unpleasant or rage-inducing. This fabulous and very emotional story ends on a splendid epilogue that had me tearing up. Very, very well done, Ms. Gill!
To Fall for a Kiss is the fourth book in the Kiss the Wallflower series. This has been a fun series to read and this book turned two characters that were enemies in the previous book into friends then lovers. Lady Clara Quinton was the only child of the Duke of Law. She was introduced to us in the first book when she was under the impression the Marquess of Graham was going to ask for her hand. When the Marquess married Louise Grant, a paid companion, Clara was upset. She was childish and hateful to the Grant family. Years later Stephen Grant comes to her rescue at Covent Garden, which surprised Clara since the two of them were enemies. Clara’s father is ill and when the return to their country estate she learns that Stephen has become her neighbor. Her father insists that Clara welcomes him into the neighborhood. Stephen recognizes that the duke is not well and to Clara’s surprise offers his help. As her father’s health worsens, Clara and Stephen become closer. But can Clara allow herself to marry someone who is so far below her in social status and wealth? Will she give up love so that her “friends” in London won’t abandon her? I loved seeing that Clara had matured enough that she realized a title and wealth did not define a person. The book was fast paced and had wonderful characters. I have enjoyed reading this series and can’t wait to see what comes next.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I thought that this was a wonderful read. I really liked the story line of this book. It was a bit of a unique feel to it and it used the whole appearances can be deceiving and you can’t really understand someone until you walk a mile in their shoes angles beautifully. It is a tale that is packed with drama, poignancy, intense emotions and steamy chemistry. Stephen was very easy to like but Clara kind of has to grow on you (and she will once you learn more about her). Stephen and Clara’s story tugged at my heart strings as these two went from active dislike, to truce, to love. Such an enjoyable romance!
This is the story about Stephen and Clara. Clara despised Stephen and his family, she believed they were beneath her. Stephen did not like how Clara treated his sisters. Stephen is a good man and when Clara needed help, he helped her. I have to say, I did not like Clara in the previous book, but I did like her in this book. This is the final book in the Kiss the Wallflower series, but you can read it without reading the previous books, but I suggest you read all these books, because each one was a nice enjoyable read. Again, I have to say, I like Tamara Gill writing style.
I received an advance copy of this book for my honest review.
