Time-traveling isn’t what Abigail Cross had in mind for her Scottish vacation, nor was a potential marriage to the Laird Aedan Macleod. The fact that the obnoxious, yet hot, and definitely sexy Highlander sees the world very differently than she does, is beside the point.Aedan Macleod knows what he wants in a wife, and Abigail certainly doesn’t meet his Highland standard, even though he must rein … he must rein in his desire, because beautiful, opinionated Abigail would never suit as a laird’s wife.
Tempers flare yet passion is undeniable, as Abby navigates her way through a medieval castle’s day to day life. When two rival clans threaten the maddening twenty-first century minx who’s captured Laird Aedan’s heart, the mighty Highlander is willing to sacrifice everything to keep Abigail safe.

Abigail Cross is on holiday in Scotland on her way to visit a castle. A storm starts, so she shelters in a cottage. Next thing she knows is waking up in the seventeenth century. How dare the meddling witch drag her through time.
Aedan MacLeod knows his sister is up to no good. If she is not careful with her magic she could be in danger.
Aedan is Laird of his clan . With that comes a lot of responsibilities. He has revenge on his mind that could see his clan at war. For that he needs allies. Hopefully he can find a bride with good connections at the games .
Our heroine is livid at being dragged from all her modern comforts to this harsh time with Neanderthal type highland men.
A funny highland adventure that was great fun to read. It has lots of twists and turns. The relationship between our characters is volatile to say the least. The secondary characters are also ones I would like to read more about. Hopefully with magic in the family we might.
I loved it.
This is by far my favorite book yet of Tamara! It made me giggle, get mad and made me cry, although I denied it to my family!! Abby is visiting Scotland and gets caught in a storm. She goes into a cottage and next thing she knows she is in 1601. Just before the last battle of Skye. The Laird’s sister(Gwen) wants him(Aedan) to marry Abby! Well neither is having it. The McLeod clan is hosting the highland games, which is fabulous to read about, and then he must pick a wife! While Abby helps find his perfect mate they fall in love! But nothing goes as plan a crazy vile Laird thinks Abby is his lost betrothed and then there is an upcoming war with another clan. One that hurt, defiled and maimed his other sister Jinny! The battle is fierce and fearing Abby will get hurt they send her back. Now Gwen can’t do magic any longer so fixes it that her descendant can! She wants Abby back as does Abby so Abby stays in Scotland and waits! Sure enough Abby meets Kenzie and she sends Abby back to Aedan! After Abby gets sent back more mishaps for the pair ensue but (heavy sigh) all ends well!!
Loved it. I like time travelers
To Conquer a Scot, by Tamara Gill. This little Gem of a love story is focused more around the love interest of Abigail and Aedan. From the start I love these two characters. I found their relationship very entertaining. Not once was I tired of reading the back and forth strong dominance of character between the two.
With Abigail, whose a independent woman from the future and Aedan, whose a Scottish Lord of the 1700’s, let’s just say the two minds could not meet. The drama around this flirtatious relationship was humorous to read. I found myself really wanting the two to get together. I Ike the easy read of the book and the plot of the book. The romance was a slow burn, but the desire and needs that Aedan and Abagail lusted for made this book a quick read or me. Until next time my fellow readers… read on!
Time travel, magic, contemporary character goes back to medieval Scotland. Well written story. Strong characters, I received the book in exchange for an honest review. I would recommend reading this book. You’ll laugh, cry and be happy reading it.
What an amazing love story!!! To Conquer a Scot by Tamara Gill is book 1 in A Time-Traveler’s Highland Love and oh how I can’t wait to read the 2nd book in this series. Tamara has a talented way of telling a story that is original and easy to read. Her characters are so lovable and creative. This time travel story is one that I will never forget. This story has revenge, battles, a loving sister, being alone, magic, schemes, jealousy, an evil clan, separation, highland games, finding a best friend and falling in love. I highly recommend this book. It is really a great read!!
To Conquer a Scot by Tamara Gill is the first book in her new series A Time Traveler’s Highland Love book the author is a new one to me and I can’t wait to read the next one. I loved this book but have to agree with Abigail Cross I would definitely miss a flushing toilet, running water, a hot shower (although the bath scenes were very hot), hospitals and of course toilet paper. Other than those few items that I’d definitely sign up to travel back to Scotland. Oh and I would be right there watching the Highland games watching the men toss the caber hoping for a stiff breeze.
Abigail Cross is in Scotland researching castle when she suddenly lands in the 17th century because Aedan MacLeod’s sister Gwen wants to make sure that he marries someone else besides those lassie coming to the Highlander games. First she needs to convince her to stay because her magic needs to regenerate. There’s Aline who has her sights on Aedan, Rory Kirk who swears she’s his missing fiancee, and a possible war with Clan O’Cain for hurting Jinny, Aedan’s sister. So just a few minor issues to get through right?
Aedan MacLeod knows he needs to marry and have a heir but with a possible war coming he needs men to help him fight to win. When his sister Gwen shows up with Abby from the future no less he’s very reluctant to accept she may soon become very special to him. After asking her for advice to chose for love instead of money and men he’ll soon discover he doesn’t want Abby to return to the future. When she’s kidnapped by Rory Kirk Aedan will do everything to get her back especially since he’s sure that he won’t leave her alive. But when she’s returned to the future can he wait for her or will he find another another woman?

A compelling page turning romance that took me through a gamut of emotions from chuckling to crying. I’m not normally a fan of time travelling novels & Highlanders don’t make me weak at the knees, I was intrigued by Gwen in the prologue but I think what really drew me in was Abby’s idea of a Highlander matched my own so I thoroughly enjoyed having my opinion along with hers changed. Aedan was tall, broad & very handsome & gave the impression of being a dour Scotsman but he had a decidedly soft centre, he was kind, his clan respected him, as he was fair & loyal. Abby was a feisty twenty first century woman who was strong & outspoken who missed many of the modern day necessities particularly toilet paper. Both had known heartbreak & weren’t looking for love but their attraction was immediate & Oh that first kiss on the stairs SO hot & their attraction sizzled. The pace of the book was very good & I read it in under a day, which in itself shows how much I enjoyed it
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
A great story, happy ending! I love ready these stories going back in time!
Loved this book. It’s a great read.
Great love story with some twists.
I liked this one couldn’t wait to read the nex book in this series. Waiting on number three.
Just not good enough…I breezed thru the last 1/3rd and decided the problem not real chemistry was managed by the author and so just ended up being typical for the genre
wow great book, love the characters look forward in reading more by this Author
