Accused of consorting with demons in her home town, Xandrie flees, only to find herself in a greater danger. She’s a mere human woman, thrust in a brutal tournament pitting vicious dragons females against each other. Yet, she can’t find it in herself to give up, as the winner will Claim the throne, and more importantly, the hand of the enticing Dragon King. Age of Gold is a series of fantasy … is a series of fantasy romance novels.

Unlike many fantasy books, To Claim a King is NOT a clean read. Expect swear words and adult situations. If you enjoy your books free of f-words, this one isn’t for you.

A different kind of Cinderella story. I LOVED Xandria! The curse words so didn’t belong in this story though. Every time I read a curse word it dropped me out of the story cause they didn’t work here. The snark was fun.
This is a fantasical mix of “The Bachelor”, “Hunger Games” and the Miss America Pagent with shifters. What chance does a mere human have among all the shifter contestants? There is good reason why humans dominate the earth and it is not because of the teeth and claws we are born with. Boy, does Xandrie prove this.
good story w/a heck of a plot. I was really impressed. thought it’d be just another romance novel w/no story. boy was I wrong
Definitely worth the read. Entertaining to the end.
A fun short read with a happy ending.
A real transportation into a fantasy world full of magic and wonder!
Look forward to reading the sequel!
Very well written with fantastic characters and great detailed storyline that kept me hooked throughout.
I do wish it was a bit longer, one- because it was that good, and two- to make some of the time jumps smaller ( only jumped a couple of days to weeks at most)
This is not the first book I’ve read by the author and sure wont be the last either 🙂
Just could not get into it. Not well written.
Book was satisfying, the plot not too complex. Entertaining read, but a little simplistic and quick.
enjoyable with a different story line
The end felt rushed, but overall the characters were likeable, and the story was easy to follow and strong.
Did not like the book
Very good enjoyed the book.
Light reading with enjoyable characters
Potential for greatness, but not…. There were either holes in the plot and characterization or the editing did not do it justice. I liked the premise being a little different than most dragon novels, but it became a “choppy” read and then all of the sudden it was over. I had higher hopes, but perhaps next time.
I always enjoy May Sage’s books
Beautifully written, intriguing to the very end!
Well written story. I’m going to read the series.
I loved the fantasy and paranormal of the book with a tough world and tough female characters who were not weak needing a mans protection but rather rushing in to save the day. Definitely loved this world and can not wait to read the other characters journeys.
