Grace Henry needs a reboot. Laid off and unable to find a new job in her native NYC, Grace heads West to Wishing, Texas to run her best friend’s bed and breakfast. But before she hits the city limits, to her luck, Grace rear ends the chief of police’s truck. As the mouth watering western dream peels off his shirt to clean her cut, she reminds herself what cops are like—cynical, inflexible, … curious and controlling. Her NYPD father taught her that fact.
FBI agent AJ Quinn is undercover in Wishing to catch a forger. Though his best friend lives in Wishing and he always longed to buy land there, Wishing is an annoying detour from his purpose, working major cases and fulfilling the vow to his father to make a difference in the world. But when Grace crashes into his life, AJ suddenly finds himself questioning his direction and determination to remain single.
Though Grace and AJ insist they don’t want a relationship and are wrong on too many levels to count, when the head says no, the heart says yes…..

The storyline was good, but the characters were not fully developed, which made the book a bit of a disappointing read.
It was good and beleavible
This book was ok. I found it to be very predictable.
To Tame a Texas Cowboy by Julie Benson
They want different things, but they just might need each other
Barrel racer Cheyenne Whitten returns to Wishing, Texas, after an injury, determined to recuperate and return to the rodeo circuit. But living with her over-protective mother only adds to Cheyenne’s problems. Desperate to move out and reclaim her independence, Cheyenne believes a service dog is the answer. That is, until she learns the waiting list for one is up to five years.
Having lost his fiancée two years ago, Cooper Abbott wants to run his veterinarian clinic and rebuild his life. A calm, stable, uneventful life. Then Cheyenne shows up asking for help getting a service dog, and Cooper finds he can’t refuse the feisty redhead.
Cheyenne and Cooper insist a relationship is the last thing they want. Cheyenne is focused on her health and returning to the rodeo. Cooper’s heart is still raw from loss. But it could be they’re exactly what each other needs.
This is Cheyenne Whitten and Cooper Abbott’s story.
Cheyenne sank onto the worn floral couch beside her mother and inhaled deeply. Needing to be driven everywhere like she had before getting a driver’s license sucked. She knew moving in with her mom and younger sister wouldn’t be a barrel of laughs, but right now she’d settle for a chuckle. “Mom, could you drop me off at The Horseshoe Grill on your way to Bunco?”
When her mother patted Cheyenne’s hand, she almost groaned. Not a good sign. The small action meant she’d get a lecture before her answer.
“Are you sure going out tonight’s a good idea? After all, we had a big day going to Dallas for your neurologist appointment. I thought we’d watch a movie,” her mother said, concern filling her brown eyes and lining her face as she patted Cheyenne’s hand again.
When Cooper slid onto his chair beside his college buddies who’d come to College Station for the Texas A&M football season opener, Zane shook his head. “There’s something very wrong with you if you let an obviously interested woman leave alone.”
“I need more than a pretty face and killer body for a relationship, starting with her being sane and reasonably calm,” Cooper replied.
At least no matter what other madness came into his life; he had these clowns. Cooper, Ty, AJ, and Zane had met during fish camp at A&M their freshmen year when they were in Squadron Twenty-One of the Corps of Cadets. Now here they were over ten years later and still friends a man counted on to prop him up during life’s rough patches, and damn, they’d gone through some doozies over the years.
To Tame a Texas Cowboy by Julie Benson is a 4 star book.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

A thoroughly enjoyable read on every level. A little sweet, a little saucy but never steamy – although the passion between these two was most certainly felt in the beautiful writing.
Good read! I was able to read it in two days. Liked the story line and that it had romance and mystery.
This book was ok. One of those where “poof” they’re in love. Not really much of a story
Beautiful Story
Grace has had a bad turn of events. Her ex is arrested for embellishing and she had to be an informant. AJ is back in his friends hometown acting like Chief of Police trying to find forgers. She runs into the back of his truck and it is up and down from there.
Hot and steamy Really got into it and didn’t want to put it down. It kept me up many a night. Would definitely recommend it.
Didn’t want to put it down
This story was Great!!!!! Loved every bit of it. Very exciting A must read just enough sex written well!!!!!!
Grace, trying to escape her bad FBI interrogation experience in NYC heads to Wishing TX in her old clunker of a car. Given the way that things have already gone for her, she hits the back of AJ’s truck when her brakes go out. It turns out that Chief AJ is the best friend of Grace’s best friend’s bethrothed. The rotten luck continues but there develops a strong attraction between these 2 least likely characters. There is almost a chance that there may not be a happy ending but hang on!
I was disappointed in this book. It was so slow. I read halfway them skipped to the end just to get it over with
A beautiful story, well written and keeps the reader engaged.
Quick read, easy going and mild romance
