Evie Milton knows she’ll never marry. But that doesn’t mean she can’t celebrate her sister’s betrothal to Finlay Stone, Duke of Carlisle. Until the bride-to-be runs off with the wrong man, that is. Now, if they have any hope of avoiding a devastating scandal, Evie and Finlay will need to bring the runaway bride to heel. And Evie will have to somehow ignore her growing attraction to the handsome … handsome duke who can never be hers …
In order to avoid disinheritance, Finlay needs a wife, and he requires one now. Finding a match wasn’t terribly difficult. Keeping her, however, was another story. Going after the chit was his last option. What he never expected was how he’d start to feel for Evie. She’s beautiful, kind, mature…and an entirely unsuitable bride. If only he could convince his heart of that …
All it takes is one spontaneous kiss to scatter their best intentions to the wind. But as secrets emerge and truths are revealed, can Evie and Finlay find their way to happily ever after—or is their wicked liaison doomed to end in heartbreak?

I loved the road trip in this story. Finn is not a real rogue/rake, instead he is a normal guy (okay a duke) who wants to save his family fortune. So he does what all peers do, look for the best candidate to wed. Except the best candidate is not the one he wants. Enter his choice’s sister who is outspoken, independent and strong and old (in his opinion). I did find that his take on an older (the same age as him) women a little frustrating but I believe that during the time period that was the norm in thinking. Things on the road trip get out of control and lo and behold he is taken with the correct candidate, the sister. A lovely story. How will he get out of his betrothal? Read and see.
I received a complimentary copy from the author.
Evie Milton is in her late twenties and a confirmed spinster. She’s watched all her friends marry and start families. Finn, the Duke of Carlisle, Finn Stone is in desperate need for a wife so that he can keep his fortune left from his father. But he has only a short time to get married and his wife needs to come from Wiltshire. The only available women from Wiltshire are the Milton sisters Evie and Lucy. So due to her younger age he chooses Lucy and sets a plan in motion unknown to the Milton’s why he wants to marry. But then Lucy runs off with a farmer and lets Evie alone to clean up her mess. Evie and Finn set out after Lucy and along the way exists a story of emotional ups and downs. They have an electric chemistry which had me rooting for them to have their happily ever after together. I received an ARC of this book and chose to post my review.
Too much sex, not enough romance 3.5*
The Duke of Carlisle needs to marry within 60 days to fulfill the terms of his father’s will. He fixes on the youngest daughter of a neighbour but has he picked the wrong sister? It certainly seems so when she ups and elopes with a farmer and he has an inconvenient attraction to her older sister.
I enjoyed parts of this story but never really got into it and inconsistencies bugged me. Such as; I found it strange that the Duke never had a valet with him; that a woman wasn’t hired to be Evie’s chaperone (how did she get in & out of her clothes?) and that he would succumb to Lucy’s tears after what has passed between himself and Evie.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I thought that this was a very enjoyable read. Evie and Finn were really quite the pair. Evie I loved and felt a instant connection with. This woman had a heart of gold. Finn I had to grow to like because I found him annoying. At the start, I was no fan of his attitude or his actions. I honestly felt seriously offended on Evie’s behalf. I mean, I desperately tried to keep in mind that things were very different back then and that men suffered from a plague of lots of backward thinking as far as women were concerned but still, I had many moments when I wanted to smack him right upside his judgmental (and in my opinion, quite rude) head. The story quickly grabbed and held my attention with the author’s well crafted blend of drama, adventure and emotion. This is my candid, forthright review.

My review :
Will he choose in time the right path toward his destiny …
I must say I did read the blurb of the book when I began my reading, Mrs Tamara Gill is an auto-but author for me, so what ever she publishes, I read.
So I discovered the story along the pages.
And while I didn’t dislike Finlay, I was not also fond of him.
I do not fault him to agree to his father’s will, marriage of convenience for wealth or lands were the way of his world, and had been done for centuries.
What was upsetting me was his view of the womenkind, past a certain age, they were beyond their breeding years.
He constantly reminds himself the heroine’s age, as if her womb needs to be carbon dated. Only her ability to produce a heir would overcome her great age.
He is a man only living to avoid scandal, why he needs to loosen up a bit, to live with less expectations and more appreciations.
Evie is a woman who lets her love for her family surpasses her every need, why even if she disagrees, she will do anything to protect her sister. She will always pass second before her family’s happiness, even at her own cost.
She chooses her own path, adapting to her new fate, whatever the price to pay.
Evie’s sister is one woman I loved to hate, so vain and conceited, only thinking of herself and nothing else. I would have liked a better set-down for her than the one she finally gets.
As I was not very satisfied by Finlay’s groveling, as it is more circumstances not of his own making that free him from his situation, when I would have liked to see him taking himself the first steps toward Evie.
Yet, in all it is a very enjoyable read with a strong female lead and a duke who has a lot to learn from a bit too old woman.
4.5 stars
I was granted an advance copy by the author, here is my true and unbiased opinion.

Twists and turns abound in To Be Wicked With You! The characters were wonderful. The story moved well. At times I thought I was reading a contemporary romance adapted to the Regency. Perhaps because the duke never had pomp or servants with him, not even a valet. But the story is still enjoyable!
I received an advance reader copy. The opinions are my own and voluntarily given.
I wish I could give this book 10 stars and I think this is my favorite Tamara Gill book to date!!! To Be Wicked With You is book 4 of the League of Unweddable Gentlemen series. Get ready for an emotional rollercoaster ride as there are so many twist and turns in this story. Tamara has really out done herself in writing this book that I can’t say enough about her amazing writing. The characters are fantastic as well as the descriptions. I got so caught in this book that I couldn’t put it down!! This story has a spoiled sister, not wanting to be like a scandalous parent, a clause in a will, a scheme, a runaway betrothed, beauty, kindness, protection, duty, secrets, honor, a signed marriage contract, traveling together, heartbreak and yes love!!! This story has it all. Though in a series this book can be read as a standalone and is easy to read. I highly recommend this book you won’t be disappointed.
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Finlay Stone, Duke of Carlisle, has just been told he must marry quickly and she must be a lady from his hometown. If he doesn’t he will lose his inheritance. He only knows of one family, who has two daughters. One is Evie, she is his age…27 way to old and now probably infertile…OMG he really thinks this. The other is Lucy her younger spoiled sister, she will have to do. Well Lucy agrees but loves a poor farmer. She decides, before the banns are read, to run off and elope. Now desperate Fin runs after her to make her marry him. He drags Evie along and along the way the two fall in love and seduce each other. What is stopping him from making Evie his wife… his ridiculous notion woman are unable to bear children at 27 and up. Did I say OMG!!! Now with some twists and turns Lucy is back unwed, wants the duke and lets Evie dangling. Finlay needs to come to his senses now and convince Evie he wants her and only her…
Another fun, hilarious at times and passionate love story…Her heroines are touch and know no bounds! Tamara Gill at her finest!
What a mess! A Duke in need of a wife. Two ladies to choose from. One twenty-two and the other twenty-seven. He picks the younger one, Lucy. Unfortunately the younger one turns out to be the wrong one when she runs away with someone else. The Duke runs after his runaway betrothed taking her older sister, Evie, who is extremely attracted to the Duke. This maybe her chance to marry him herself, because he’s attracted to her, too. A long trip with cold nights, heats up the attraction between them.
A rollercoaster ride in a carriage and on a horse.
I enjoyed reading this fast and easy to read romance.
Gifted a copy of this book.
Tamara does it again with another great read. I loved Evie and Finn from the start. Evie thought she was on the shelf and never thought that she would find happiness like her friends had in marriages.Finn having to get married to save his inheritance chooses the younger sister thinking that Evie is to old to have children. When the sister runs off with a farmer that she loves Finn and Evie go off together to find them and bring them home. Things do not work out as planned.
Finn discovers that he has asked the wrong sister to marry him but the road to HEA is not as smooth as one would think.
You will not be disappointed when you read about Finn and Evie and you certainly do not have to read the other books in this series but why wouldn’t you!!
I can not wait for the next book as I’m sure it will be just as great as the other ones!!
I was gifted the Advanced Reader Copy of this book & all opinions are my own & have been voluntarily given!
Deception and choosing in haste leads Finlay into his current predicament, a run-a-way fiance and his overwhelming attraction to Evie Milton. Evie expects never to marry at her age but she is open to the idea with the right person. The adventure begins, the attraction grows and Finlay and Evie fall in love until disaster whirls back into their lives and destroy their dreams. I loved, loved, loved their story. This book is so passionate and romantic. You will shed a few tears but it so worth it.
I have enjoyed all the books in this series and this one did not disappoint me.
I loved Evie from the very beginning of the book and after I got to know the real Finn, I really enjoyed him.
Evie Milton is the oldest daughter of a gentleman who provided for his family on the profits from his estate and at twenty and seven years old, she has proclaimed herself on the shelf. She has returned home from London, where she lives with and has many titled married friends that enable her to attend Ton functions, to attend her younger sister wedding to their neighboring duke.
It has been a year since Finlay Stone, became the Duke of Carlisle and his father’s solicitor has just informed him that his father put a stipulation in his will that if Finn was not married a year after taking title, he would have sixty days to find and marry a lady from a noble family within Finn’s county and if he failed this stipulation, the bulk of his fortune, the money, and any assets not entailed, will revert to his cousin. So Finn’s only choice in the county was the youngest daughter of Mr. Milton, his neighbor – so he met with him, was introduced to Lucy, began courting her and then proposed.
Evie has met Finn in London in the ballrooms and even danced with him once – he is handsome and she can remember how good he smelled. But something is not right – why would the duke pick Lucy, a girl not from society, with no title and who he barely knew. Additionally, why would Lucy accept his proposal – she hated society, loved her freedom and would not like being a duchess. Finn remembers Evie as soon as they are introduced a recalls their dance and how lovely she is but too old to take as a duchess as he needs an heir. Then Lucy runs off with a local farmer to elope with the man she loves and Evie & Finn are thrown together to hunt them down before Lucy ruins her reputation and that of the family.
The building relationship between Finn & Evie is fun, romantic, emotional and the quest for Lucy is entertaining. I highly recommend this book and the entire series. I was gifted the Advanced Reader Copy of this book & all opinions are my own & have been voluntarily given.
