A NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER#1 New York Times-bestselling author Jan Karon returns with the fourteenth novel in the beloved Mitford series, featuring three generations of Kavanaghs.Wounds heal, bonds grow stronger, and celebrations continue…Welcome back to beloved Mitford. After twelve years of wrestling with the conflicts of retirement, Father Tim Kavanagh realizes he doesn’t need a steady job … Father Tim Kavanagh realizes he doesn’t need a steady job to prove himself. Then he’s given one. As for what it proves, heaven only knows.
Millions of Karon fans will be thrilled that it’s life as usual in the wildly popular Mitford series: A beloved town character lands a front-page obituary, but who was it, exactly, who died? And what about the former mayor, born the year Lindbergh landed in Paris, who’s still running for office? All this, of course, is but a feather on the wind compared to Muse editor J.C. Hogan’s desperate attempts to find a cure for his marital woes. Will it be high-def TV or his pork-chop marinade? In fiction, as in real life, there are no guarantees.
Twenty minutes from Mitford at Meadowgate Farm, newlyweds Dooley and Lace Kavanagh face a crisis that devastates their bank account and impacts their family vet practice. But there is still a lot to celebrate, as their adopted son, Jack, looks forward to the most important day of his life–with great cooking, country music, and lots of people who love him. Happily, it will also be a day when the terrible wound in Dooley’s biological family begins to heal because of a game–let’s just call it a miracle–that breaks all the rules.
In To Be Where You Are, Jan Karon weaves together the richly comic and compelling lives of two Kavanagh families, and a cast of characters that readers around the world now love like kin.

Enjoyed following the continuing lives of the Kavanaughs but needed the dictionary for some of Us Karon’s verbiage
I love all of Jan Karon’s books and this is no exception. It’s a continuation of life in Mitford. I highly recommend the entire Mitford series.

Wonderful book, love Jan Karon’s book & this touched on many of the characters from previous books in series.
It’s just as wonderful as the rest of the Mitford series.
Characters well developed, become one’s friends.
Having read all of Jan Karon’s books I just have to give it five stars. I am taken with the characters who are charming, funny and come alive in the Mitford books. This is not my favorite but still was such a lovely read!

Jan Karon spins a tale for the heart and soul with each and every installment…Long live Mitford!
I’ve loved Father Tim and the Mitford books for years. Was delighted to have another to read. Took awhile to remember all the many characters of the town. Enjoyed updates on so many friends, even as they age.
Always love reading Jan Karon and especially Father Tim and all the characters of Mitcord. Enjoy how Father Tim second guesses himself with Cynthia but manages to do the best thing for them in the end. Dooley and Lace face Lot of stress and do the best they can. So many more characters and so many sub stories that all twine together.
I love the Mitford series. It has been neat to grow old with such beloved characters as father Tim.
I love Jan Karin’s books. Who wouldn’t want to live in Mitford and have Father Tim as a pastor and friend. The simple folks there are an inspiration to us all.
I love Jan Karon’s Mitford series of books. The characters are quirky and fun, intelligent and odd, and so well written. I’m never happier than when I’m in the middle of a Mitford book.
I have read all of the Mitford series books by Jan Karon and I personally think each one is better than last! To Be Where You are is no exception and I savored each interlocking story. The Mitford characters are believeable and very human and certainly not perfect but they are people I would love to meet! Perhaps I have met their prototypes in Grandfather and Blowing Rock many times!!!
The end of an amazing series.
I love the Father Tim books
I will continue to read anything and everything Jan Karon writes as quickly as I can get my hands on it! And soon, I’ll start all over again…they are THAT GOOD!
My favorite series and author!
