Okay, so these fairies would have Tinkerbell for a light snack and you wouldn’t want to meet them in a dark alley. All that aside, this is a great tale of the darker side of fairies and a look inside their capricious nature. Tithe is a great read for those who love darker fairy tales.

This was one of my favorites as a teenager. There were rumors that Nick Studios was going to produce a movie adaptation, but I’m so glad they didn’t (see also: the Spiderwick books). Urban fantasies don’t get enough play on the big screen, but this one has a smart-ass heroine, a sexy knight, murder, duels, magic, and some twisted faeries. Also …

Saw someone else post about this and I love this series…Tithe, Valient and Ironside are all part of A Modern Faerie Tale series and Holly Black is possibly one of my favorite fantasy authors, if you like your faeries with a little kick to them check this one out!

I’m mad at myself for not reading this book a long time ago! It was so good and reminded me of when I was in high school before cell phones and social media consumed our entire lives!
I liked Kaye! I felt she was relatable. Yes, she may be a high school drop out, drink, curse and smoke, but not every teen in the world is a perfect angel. And …

I started reading this series as part of a challenge to read 1 fairy book or series a month in 2017. I was not expecting what I found. This is a dark series, the fairies are not your Tinkerbell fairies, they are conniving and vicious. The humans in the story are not much better. There is an angry grandparent and a mother who doesn’t set much of an …

This is my first book by Holly Black and it wasn’t so bad. I liked the fact that this book held my attention. I’m not a person who likes Fae books but this one was more like teen drama. We know i love drama, other peoples drama. i’m gonna plan to finish the series. I just hope they are all good.

Holly Black was my introduction into the world of faeries and magic and all those exciting topics. Her stories were so full of adventure and excitement and the characters felt completely real. I still go back an read Tithe for the nostalgia, though I’ve drifted a bit away from faeries in recent years, but I highly recommend these books for the …

Kaye meets an injured white-haired young man in the woods. She saves him. And her life changes forever.
Without giving away spoilers, I have to admit that I saw the fae – especially the green pixie – a lot better than I saw the humans, even Kaye. The magical world she is pulled into is dark, scary and wonderful.
I liked how folklore was used in …

There’s a fairy world amongst us, one of magic and with terror. The author was able to describe it well enough for me to feel like I was there and witnessing. Once again Holly Black pulled me into the fairy realm and I wasn’t disappointed. I look forward to reading Valient, the second book to this series.

I absolutely love this book and Holly Black as a writer. Her characters always draw you in and the worlds she cremates are pure escapism. Tithe is a wonderful fantasy tale full of excitement and intrigue.

I read Tithe by Holly Black randomly after I saw that there was going to be a read-a-thon (#Faireathon) of Holly’s fairy books. I’ve meant to read a book by Holly Black since Cruel Prince was released but never made time for it. Now I can catch up until her next books releases.
Overall, this book was interesting to read, and I look forward to …

The very first fae series I ever read.
And probably the best. Tithe and the following books have a special place in my heart.
