Mesmerizing from beginning to end. Chloe Fine is one of my favorite characters. Blake Pierce always delivers whodunits that I can’t put down.
I’ve never read a book from this author that I didn’t love. You’ll never be disappointed with any of these books. I highly recommend
What a rollercoaster of a ride! This book hits the ground running and never lets up. I had things I was supposed to do the day I started reading, but unfortunately, none of them got done because this book consumed my day. All I wanted to do was read. It was one of those books that you just aren’t sure how things are going to work out. I never did figure out who the “bad guy” was, but considering there were absolutely no clues to their identity I don’t feel too badly about it.
The only slightly negative thing I can say is that Chloe needed to tone down her attitude, but since her partner was telling her the same thing I don’t feel as if I were too far off track.
There were some great characters in this book with plenty of action and some fairly gruesome murders. Thoroughly enjoyable. (Not sure what that says about me, but oh well.) I will be checking out all of the other books in the Chloe Fine series. You might want to do the same.
I received a review copy from BookSirens and this is my honest opinion. I would like to thank them and the author for allowing me to read and review it.
What an ending to Chloe’s series. After dealing with the aftermath of the incident with her sister and father, Chloe is attempting to get back to normal life even though things are anything but that. With the bureau continuing to investigate her father’s disappearance, she tries to move past it by working on her latest case with her partner. But while working on things, she starts to blur the lines between her case and her real-life and it starts to show. The twists and turns that the investigation provides as Chloe and her partner investigate, we find the pair gain more teamwork and experience working together as they talk through things, and we see Chloe start to confide in her partner. I was a little disappointed how Blake ended Chloe and her series, and how the incident with her sister and father really affected her, but she never really seemed to deal with things aside from confiding in her partner. It also seemed to end abruptly; with Chloe starting to get back into normal life and dating, while her sister somewhat disappears from town without landing somewhere specific. I enjoyed the mystery and investigation portion of the book – it was interesting finding out who the killer was in relation to the victims, and the reasoning behind it. I’m interested to see what comes next with Blake after this series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Tinted Windows by Blake Pierce
This book is number 6 in the Chloe Fine series but can be read as a stand alone, this is my 1st and I was not lost.
Chloe and her partner are investigating the murder of a personal trainer only to discover he is not the only murder they will be investigating as the body count goes higher Chloe is also dealing with what occurred with her sister and father and trying to hold her life together fearing she may be under investigation herself… Good characters, good mystery did not disappoint. I received a free copy of this book but I leave my opinion of my own free will. Thank you to the author and BookSirens.
Agents Rhodes and Fine are confronted with the murder of a fitness trainer in a small cookie cutter town where everyone knows each other.
Most of his clients at least the rich beautiful ones were getting extra in home training that included a little extra entertainment. With all parties married. So when he’s murdered there is no shortage of suspects. Everyone seems to have an alibi but seem suspicious regardless..This book can be read as a stand-alone or as the next in the series. The only way to find out to killed this Casanova is to read this psychological thriller by Blake Pierce. I read the book as an ARC by giving by unbiased review above.
FBI Agents Chloe Fine and Nikki Rhodes are called to investigate the murder of a popular well-known personal trainer.
What the agents discover is a small town full of liars, cheaters, broken marriages, secrets and immeasurable lies. He was a serial cheater so finding suspects won’t be a problem. Besides all the women he was seeing at the same time, he also has a wife. And then there are the husbands of the cheating women. Choosing just one is a problem.
Things heat up with there are more killings …. two women he cheated with. They have a list of all his clients … but are they all potential victims .. or is one of them a killer?
Chloe is dealing with some personal issues. This case is bringing to mind her own upbringing loaded with deception. Her father killed her mother and was set on ending the lives of his two daughters.
The FBI powers-that-be are still looking at Chloe since her father disappeared.. and they aren’t sure what really happened. Chloe believes that her partner is watching Chloe very carefully and asking questions she would not normally have done. Is she being the see-all and tell-all for her supervisors?
This is a well-crafted plot with twists and turns that feel like a roller coaster ride. The characters are credible and memorable. I like how Chloe’s private life blends with her professional life. An unexpected ending rounds out a quite enjoyable read.
This is the first I have read of this author. Although 6th in the series, TINTED WINDOWS is easily read as a stand alone.
