We are back in Lark Cove with the baby of the Kendrick family and boy does this book have you glued to the pages! I really loved these characters and how they also managed to be so strong even when the whole world is against them….or at least at times it felt that way to me. So many obstacles stood in their way and they were able to prove that true love can conquer all.
Sofia is the one member of her family that doesn’t know what comes next for her. To her life has always been about fun, but what happens when it’s not fun anymore?
Dakota knows what he wants and works himself to deathly meet his goals. He had a plan and it does not include distractions.

What a great ending to this series. When we first met Sofia I wasn’t very impressed. As this book shows there’s a lot more to her than what we previously saw. Her pain is deep and so are her insecurities. Dakota also carries his own demons and as they progress with their relationship they discover that when they’re together they’re are definitely stronger. This is a story with tragedy and heartbreak. But also love and perseverance can heal a lot of wounds. Great book and series Ms Perry
Devney Perry shredded my heart with her prologue and slowly pieced it back together by the end. While I love all her books Tinsel has become my favorite in the Lark Cove series! Sophia and Dakota will take you on a journey that will have your emotions go from swooning, getting angry or frustrated and loving but you’ll enjoy every minute of it! I never wanted it to end. I truly felt for both the characters and I hurt for them. Even though they come from opposite sides they are so connected and great for each other. You can’t help but cheer them on.
Perfection.
Pure emotional, romantic, blissful perfection.
I mean, I have loved every single book in the Lark Cove series, so maybe it’s no surprise that the only words I have for this final installment are of the “glowing praise” variety. But honestly, I don’t think there could have been a more perfect ending for this series. And at this moment I’m hard pressed to think that there could have been a more perfect love story than that between Dakota Magee and Sophia Kendrick.
Simply put, I completely adored Dakota. I loved him fiercely. Almost as fiercely as he loved Sophia, who I was primed not to like (based on previous books in this series) and yet who captured my heart almost as effortlessly as Dakota did. The magic of this story is in how these two beautiful souls care for each other, how they lifted each other up, how they encouraged each other to be the best versions of themselves. It tugged at my heart, causing much swooning and fluttering, and overflowing emotion. There are many time jumps in the story, which is a thing that doesn’t always work for me, but for these characters in this story, it was, well, perfection.
I was completely captivated by this richly layered, beautifully told love story. It is somehow complicated and stripped down at the same time. Both Dakota and Sophia find themselves dealing with some heavy life issues, which lent their relationship a fair amount of adversity. However it felt authentic, the struggles felt very real and my heart ached for them while they sorted through their demons and found their way to their happily ever after.
And, as a series ender, it gave just the right amount of update on the couples I’d already met along the way. So much good, happy closure here. When you invest in a series the way I had invested my heart in this one, you can only hope that it will leave you on a high note and, I am so happy to say, Tinsel left me on the highest of notes. And, while there is a slight feeling of bittersweet that there will be no more visits to Lark Cove, I truly could not be more satisfied.
It was just lovely. Tinsel is romance at its finest. It’s heartwarming and packed with emotion. It’s the perfect balance of lightness and heaviness. And the characters are so special, my heart may never let them go. I cannot say it enough, this book (this series, really) is perfection, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Devney does it again with this tantalizing tale of finding your passion.
I have to say I was initially hesitant about this story, reading about a spoiled rich girl has no appeal. But, I have LOVED every book by Devney, each story unique and wonderful. Therefore, I dove in. SOOO, glad I did. Just like her other books, this one is equally incredible. Devney has a natural talent to tell a story with incredible depth. Each character is richly developed with multiple layers of complexity. Couple that with a story that keeps unfolding emotional layers creates an enthralling book you can’t stop reading.
Sofia is the self-absorbed rich girl with no direction in her life. It takes a devastating humiliation to shock her into reality. A disparaging article mocking her socialite self-absorption makes her wake up and question everything about her life. Devastated, she runs to hide out with her brother in Montana.
In Lark Cove, she is put to work at the bar. Doing mindless tasks humbles her and gives her time to think about her life. It’s hoped that while there she can find purpose, appreciation, and gain confidence.
There she meets Lark Cove’s local hottie, Dakota, her new boss. But this hottie doesn’t want anything to do with Sofia.
“Dakota’s stare gave nothing away. It was empty and cool. He looked right to my core, making my heart boom louder and louder with each passing second that I failed his inspection.”
Another person to be disappointed by her, makes her sabbatical from life all the more daunting. Dakota’s angry having to babysit a rich girl who doesn’t even know how to sweep. Unfortunately, for him, his body thinks otherwise.
“My c@#k was begging to become Sofia’s babysitter”
“The minute those doe eyes met mine, my heart squeezed. Those crying eyes. They were going to ruin me.”
He soon realizes that Sofia is someone who had everything and yet at the same time empty, lonely, and desperately looking for some attention and acceptance.
“I didn’t pity her, but I was intrigued. I ached to get closer and solve her riddle.”
Dakota has his own story to tell. His family is angry that he left the reservation. They are determined that he will return home and marry a full-blooded Native American. Family drama ensues.
“I admired my culture, my family traditions, but I wanted more. I wanted freedom.”
While reading the story you continue to question whether or not Dakota will find the strength to pursue his wants or succumb to family pressure? You also realize that despite differences, Dakota and Sofia are similar in their issues with family not accepting their wants and desires.
“I hope to show her that at least one person believed in her and that one person didn’t expect her to conform to a certain role because of her heritage or last name or birth order.”
Dakota and Sofia went into the relationship knowing it had a limit, knowing there was no future. That let them lower their guards. And led to some incredibly steamy scenes!
“Damn that man knew how to treat a woman’s body.”
Dakota knows what he wanted out of life, what the direction of his future was and that didn’t include Sofia.
“Our futures followed two different paths. Paths that ran in two different directions. Our time together at their intersection was over.”
If it was a relationship with limits, why did it hurt some much? Heart-broken once again, Sofia finds she has to be the one to learn to pick herself up. To be the one to believe in herself before others will. She has to find her passion, be bold, find her magic, and chase the impossible.
A beautiful story of growth and acceptance. Devney writes stories that enable the reader to establish bonds with the characters becoming emotionally involved with them and the story. Yes, I ended up loving the spoiled rich girl. My heart traveled the Sofia and Dakota roller coaster and I loved every minute!
I read an ARC of this story. My honest and fair review is voluntary.
If I could describe Tinsel in one word, it would be Perfection. Tinsel is a beautiful love story, but it is so much more. It’s a story of finding oneself and discovering what makes you happy. It is a story of acceptance; of learning to accept who you are and being ok that you are not what others expect you to be. It is a story of heartache, loss and passion. In the end, Tinsel is an unforgettable love story destined to take your heart on one thrilling ride….
From the moment I picked up this book, I knew I was diving into something special. I’ll be the first to admit that Sofia was going to have a hard time winning me over, but I gotta tell you, I am so glad I gave her story a chance. She was not like what I was thinking at all. When we first meet up with Sofia, we see a woman who has never worked a day in her life. She’s spoiled and only thinks of herself. She is a true princess….Or is she? You see, under the phony face Sofia presents to the world, there is a woman who is confused and sad. She doesn’t know who she is or what she wants out of this crazy life. She only knows what others expect from her. Desperate for a change, Sofia finds herself in Montana visiting her brother and his family, hoping like crazy that Montana can provide her with some answers. Instead of taking some time to chill and figure things out, Sofia finds herself working in a bar alongside Dakota. Little does she know that her world is about to be truly turned upside down…
Tinsel was absolutely everything I wanted and was looking for. This book is extremely well written and is filled with so much heart. You can literally feel the emotions dripping off of the pages. I found myself glued to the pages and unable to put this book down. I easily devoured this book in a single sitting and just couldn’t get enough.
Tinsel is filled with lots of beautiful and at times tough messages. From learning to accept who you are to seeing that first impressions don’t always tell the full story. To taking risks and falling in love. To seeing that no ones family is perfect, and that your family is not always blood related. Sometimes your family is just who you make it and who you want to call your own. To seeing that it’s never too late to forgive and mend fences no matter how much damage has been done. As you can probably tell, this book definitely pulled on my heartstrings.
There is so much to love about this final book in the Lark Cove Series and I wish like crazy that I could just spend all day talking to you about them all, but I can’t do that. I want you to experience the joy and beauty of this book on your own. However, I will leave you with this, Tinsel is a beautiful and consuming story. The characters are real, raw and are nowhere near perfect. Their story will captivate you from page one and will take you on the most amazing journey. From love to heartache, to tragedy and forgiveness. To all the emotions and angst and moments that will leave you aching to see what will happen next. To the fight, the risks and the undeniable pull, this book just hit all the marks for me and then some. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better ending to this amazing series.
There’s a reason why Devney Perry has become one of my go to authors. Her books are filled with so much passion, so much love, so much realness. They find a way to burrow deep inside you and will have you thinking of them long past “the end”. And Tinsel is just the latest book of hers to leave that lasting impression. So while I’m sorry to see these characters and this series go, they will live on forever and hold a special place in my heart.
Holy moly!!! I went into this book with no expectations, and not knowing what I was getting into. I was completely blown away!!!!
Sofia. My goodness. What a complex character that I easily fell in love with. She’s a delight once you get past her hard exterior. I related to her quite a bit on the spoiled factor.
Right away I loved Dakota. Can we say swoon?! *Insert all the heart eyed emojis here* Completely adored him, and everything he was in this story.
Their story kept me turning pages, and wanting to see what would happen next while I was rooting for them the entire time. Great story, and very sweet. Loved it! Job well done Devney!!
Loved this addition and I think, the final book, in the Lark Cove series! I wasn’t sure about the heroine, Sophia, at first but wow I loved her! Dakota was the perfect match and the best thing was that these characters were original. Not your typical characters that seem to read the same in many romance books. I love Ms Perry’s writing style too. Try her series too!!
Ahhhh! Such. An. Amazing. Book.
An underestimated, wealthy, big city princess and a gorgeous native home town boy. You would think you would know the story, but you don’t. The up’s, the down’s, the steamy sexy times and a few tears here and there. They had 10 days together, could that turn into forever? This book had it all and was so well written. Sofia and Dakota are probably a tie for my favorite couple in the Lark Cove series, besides Logan and Thea. But probably only because you read about Logan and Thea throughout the entire series.
I can’t recommend this book enough. Or the entire series for that matter. You can’t go wrong with any Devney Perry book.
FIVE New Year’s Eve Stars <3
Love finds a home once again in Lark Cove ….
Sofia, the heroine here, is soft. Plain and simple. She’s had a soft, easy, cushiony life with low expectations from everyone, especially herself. She’s pretty much a beautiful, stereotypical poor little rich girl. She’s so soft hearted she cries quite easily and often. However, she is portrayed as someone who would have liked to have matured into a stronger, more confident version of herself, if others had only helped mold her that way. To some degree she now owned and admitted to her long list of past mistakes, but I can’t shake the feeling she ultimately did this to herself. I tried not to judge her too harshly, despite the fact she does not fit the profile of my preferred type of leading lady, which is sassy, feisty, and no one’s doormat. She’s instantly attracted to Dakota, the hero, because he is hotly handsome and makes her feel safe, cherished, and unbroken.
Dakota has made some tough choices in his life and works pretty much nonstop in trying to secure his financial future. He’s become estranged from his family due to those decisions but seems determined to stay the course. The content surrounding what they wanted him to do was quite unexpected. Because of his strong resolve, I got to say I was also surprised he gave up so easily and didn’t always fight for love. At heart, he is a relationship fence mender though, so truly did want to resolve things with his relatives. It was just when it came to Sophia he seemed resigned to keep giving up and losing hope. For Sophia, I rather expected it of her.
After jumping into a very heated, steamy, less than ten day fling, where they basically didn’t know hardly anything about each other and accepted they would never be a real couple, not surprisingly loads of back and forth relationship angst set in and continue until the final conclusion. Fortunately, things did work out. Ultimately, they both end up having to grow a backbone and take a stand to be together.

”She was a woman who had everything in the world at her fingertips and yet seemed so . . . miserable and lonely. She seemed so lost.”
•
TINSEL is book four in Devney Perry’s Lark Cove Series, and I swear that each book is better than the last. For me, Devney writes small-town romance that immerses you into the lives of the characters like no other author.
•
Sofia Kendrick is a New York socialite. On the heels of a magazine interview gone sour, she finds herself bartending for her sister-in-law in Montana, finding herself and her passion.
”Don’t do this because you want to make them proud. Do this because it’s going to feed your spirit.”
Dakota Magee is the loner of his family. He wants to make a name for himself and has his goals set to get him there. With no time for relationships, he’s more annoyed than intrigued when he finds Sofia as his new coworker.

For me, TINSEL was a coming-of-age tale with so much heart and passion, I had a hard time putting the book down. I felt such a connection to Sofia with her need to find approval in her family, and find what she’s good at. I just felt it. Dakota is an old soul that finds himself reeling from family troubles and hardships. Their story together is one for the ages and can’t be missed!
Sofia Kendrick has been a spoiled princess type of character. I have looked forward to her story, because I knew she would have a lot of growth in her journey. I was not wrong. I loved the story of why she came to Montana and how she came to meet Dakota. It was a humbling experience for her. The differences between these two were so vast and wide, you would never have thought to pair them together. They had an instant attraction though, that helped lead them to more. I really enjoyed all the ups and downs they went through, individually and as a couple. It was full of hope, heartbreak and growth. Tinsel really helps to prove that despite people’s differences in culture, race or financial status, love can conquer all.
Love Devney’s small town romances! An emotional and beautiful story!
WOW! The author delivered on a fantastic ending to this series. The story of Dakota and Sophia is so enduring. It had the perfect amount of funny, angst and emotion. Devney Perry is truly an original and special author. Her writing is smooth and dare I say flawless. I never hesitate when I hear she has a new book coming out. Her characters are so well developed. While I’ll miss the characters of Lark Cove I’ll be waiting impatiently to see what she has in store for us next. Five Stars!!!
I finished Tinsel last night and it was the perfect ending to this small-town series! These characters and setting pulled me in from the first book in The Lark Cove Series – everything from the NYC to small-town Montana settings, and the alpha heroes to the strong, resilient and sassy heroines. Each book is layered with family, life-changing decisions and couples who you will fall in love with and Tinsel was no different.
I met Sofia early on in this series and she was seriously a bit intimidating. She is a NYC princess who has never worked a day in her life besides climbing the social elite ladder. As the series goes on, you begin to see a different side of Sofia and eventually understand her behavior and can sympathize with her insecurities and cries for attention. She is a girly-girl, but there is so much more to her that she has buried deep. When she arrives in Montana, she is broken and at her lowest point. The spark that Dakota lights in her is immediate, and I was smitten with him from the start.
Dakota is an enigma…. he is this determined, independent, and fearless handsome man. He left his family on the reservation where he grew up to pursue his own passions and “be free.” He is so compassionate and has such a kind soul, and it was refreshing to see him care for Sofia. Here is this big, gorgeous man who treats Sofia like a porcelain doll at times, and other times…he gives her the confidence she needs by challenging her at every step. I fell for Dakota so hard and my heart broke for him at times when he was torn between his family and following his heart.
Sofia & Dakota do not have an easy journey. What they thought would be a casual fling becomes so much more, and what I loved the most about them is how they stayed true to themselves – they followed their hearts – they challenged each other – and fought hard all along the way. Having the rest of the Lark Cove characters along for their story was just an added bonus. I will miss Lark Cove and these characters, and will have to revisit them soon – they have all worked their way into my heart! Well done once again D. Perry!
Tinsel was my favorite in the Lark Cove series. Sofia was lost and my heart hurt for her but as Dakota uncovers things about her through their entire love story you see how strong she is! I highly recommend this 5 star read!!!
When you think of actual tinsel, you think of the facade and the glitter it exudes. The same goes for Sofie. Her life has been glitter and glitz but she has no clue who she really is. How fake her life has been just floating through it. I think the most stunning thing about this book is the soul searching and finding herself that Sofie does take on through it. How she is so broken but builds herself back up. Then the pull her and Dakota have was absolutely melting. But I loved how he pushed her to better herself. To become the best version of herself. She also shows him that life can be more as well. Their chemistry is off the charts as well. All the heartache Dakota goes through as well trying to prove himself worthy of his family is parallel to Sofie trying to prove herself. Together they show them that you do not need to conform to be successful.
Overall, out of all the Lark Cove books, I think this one was my favorite. They are all absolutely stunning but this one just spoke to me about how no matter what you do, you are always trying to prove that you can make it in life no matter what is thrown at you. There are a lot of raw emotions plus sizzling moments that just flow so seamlessly throughout and I honestly devoured this book. If you haven’t tried Deveny Perry yet, you seriously need to. She has become one of my all time favorite authors!
I still have happy tears running down my face while writing this review. As always Devney Perry’s amazing writing completely blew me away. Tinsel is a deeply emotional and inspiring story that overflows with a love so epic you’ll be left in awe of its beauty. And shining as brightly as the undeniable love Dakota and Sofia have is the journey of finding yourself. Tinsel is the kind of book that you will stay with you long after you’ve reached the end.
Previously Sofia was not someone I ever thought I’d like, but after seeing the world through her eyes I finally caught a glimpse of the amazingly sweet woman and the sensitive heart she has. So incredibly misunderstood by everyone around her and completely lost after taking yet another blow to her fragile self esteem my heart absolutely ached for her. Dakota even though much more confident was just as lost as Sofia in some ways, but the second he looked at her he saw what everyone else seemed to miss. These two have an immediate connection that is as intense as it is electric. They also have quite a journey. Self discovery, forgiveness, loss and love all play huge parts in their truly moving story.
5 stars!
Oh Devney Perry, you never fail to make my romance-loving little heart soar! I loved this book. It’s sweet, sexy, heartfelt and no-nonsense with delicious angst that is written right, and an absolutely beautiful against-the-odds love story that stole my heart.
This is the fourth and final book in the Lark Cove series. It can be read as a standalone, but there is some character crossover and spoilers for earlier books in the series, and honestly, you don’t want to miss out on these books, so feel free to dive into this one on its own but add the earlier books to your TBR!
This is the story of Sofia Kendrick (younger sister of Logan from book #1), and I’ve gotta say, I was wary going in. A spoiled heiress, Sofia didn’t give us a good impression when we first met her, coming off as a bit of a mean bitch. Twice married and divorced at the age of 32, she doesn’t work and seems flighty, self-absorbed and entitled, and after an in-depth magazine article reveals exactly that, she is forced to face up to the reality of her life, and it’s devastating to her.
Broken hearted and feeling lost, she escapes to her brother and his family in Lark Cove, Montana, where she is promptly put to work in the Lark Cove bar by her sister-in-law as a way to get out of her head and do something meaningful. And so for ten days she’s put into the capable hands of enigmatic bartender, Dakota Magee.
Dakota is less than impressed that he’s basically going to be babysitting a spoiled princess who has never worked a day in her life. He has his life planned out and he works hard to achieve his goals, and he pushes his work ethic onto Sofia. He’s not prepared to take any crap from her, but he sees her trying and he respects that. He can also see her hurting, and he is there for her as she completely falls apart.
Dakota sees something more in Sofia and he takes her under her wing, supporting and helping her with both the practicalities of work in a bar, and with some life lessons. And he is pleasantly surprised at what he finds, and even more surprised as his growing attraction to her. The chemistry sizzles between them and their attraction is irresistible, and in no time at all, they are throwing themselves into a wild fling that they know will be shortlived, but that will change everything. And OMG, it’s so freaking hot!
I love Sofia and Dakota together! They are opposites in a lot of ways, but they just work. They open up to each other, holding nothing back, and they have a profound impact on each other’s lives, changing each other in so many ways. They never expected anything to last beyond Sofia’s short stay in Lark Cove, but when she returns home, they find that it’s not so easy to let go. But what kind of future can they have? Not only do they live hundreds of miles apart, but their lives couldn’t be more different. And Dakota’s family are pressuring him to live his life in a way that upholds their American Indian heritage, threatening to keep him confined from the freedom that he longs for. It seems hopeless, and my heart ached for them. Oh, the feels!!!
It may seem like I’ve given a lot away, but this is really just the beginning of Sofia and Dakota’s story. Their journey is unexpected with ups and downs, but SO much heart, and I loved watching it all unfold. It’s emotional and sexy and the angst is just fantastic – written in a way that enhances their relationship rather than creating unnecessary drama. These two are functional and honest, and I freaking loved watching them work through all of the barriers between them and figuring out what they want together – bravely following their hearts despite all that stands in their way.
I love these characters. It didn’t take me long to warm up to Sofia, and I was so proud of her realisations and growth, and all that she accomplished. And Dakota is just… *swoon*! Another fabulous Devney Perry hero, I couldn’t get enough of him and loved his sexy alpha sensitivity. And as much as this is a romance, the individual journeys of Sofia and Dakota are beautifully written. They both have a lot to deal with, and the character development is fantastic as they sort out their lives, what they want and where they want to be. It’s beautifully written with lots of emotion and ties in to the love story perfectly to create a story with depth and heart.
I love this series and I’m not ready for it to be over, but this story is a fantastic ending to it all, not only because of the strength of Sofia and Dakota’s story, but we also get to see little bits of each of the couples and where they are at, which I loved.
Absolutely beautiful – I loved it. 5 stars.
