He has left the reservation and is trying to succeed to prove to his family that there is another way than the way they want for him. Can these two overcome the many obstacles in their path to get their happily ever after? This is a must read! As is every book that Devney writes! 5 amazing stars
Bittersweet romance between small town local and big city heiress.
Sweet fast paced insta-last, insta-love story between opposites attracting shouldn’t have been appealing. However, it was well written and the characters were likable as they owned their actions are were willing to rise to the challenge of what they were getting into. Their self revelations and their brutal honesty with each other made their characters lovable and relatable.
Dakota and Sofia’s story was full of humor and passion as they embarked on their 10 day experiment. Their chemistry was swoonworthy and undeniable as they made discoveries about themselves and each other. Their banter was funny and full of heart as they tried to figure out effects of their predicament.
I loved their raw vulnerability and passion between them as they stumbled along trying to figure out their new developments.
But can it last can insta whatever have true happily ever after or does it have an expiration date?
You’ll have to read and find out!!
Sofia’s brother and sister might have excelled in the business, but she decided to live a life of a princess. She had nothing to worry about, but what to wear and dress for the occasion. She already had two scandalous divorce and publicized breakup under her name, so a society magazine called her superficial and every other name in the book, it swept the rug off her feet and made her realize some things.
She’s a TINSEL.
It’s a good thing that Logan welcomed her to Montana when she decided to lay low and escape the city. Nothing is peaceful than Lark Cove. All she need is a relaxing weekend, until her sister-in-law decided to have an impromptu vacation and pushed her into working in a bar with Dakota Magee.
Dakota was happy on his own and didn’t want to babysit a princess, even a very beautiful one. She proved herself a disaster, and a complete distraction. But he couldn’t help but feel somewhat sorry for her, and now trying to make her feel better about herself.
Will a princess and a pauper work out?
If you have met Sofia previously, you wouldn’t like her. I don’t like her. Never did. She was an entitled brat, and that was my first impression of her. Oh boy, I was so wrong. Because our princess redeemed herself in TINSEL.
If there’s one thing TINSEL taught it’s readers is that – people change. No matter how you think irredeemable the quality might be, there is always room for change. All it needs is a bit of support and push. Her changes weren’t dramatically fast, oh no. It was gradual. Like an awakening, which felt real. Her realizations, and her sudden remorse to everything that she did. I love that Logan welcomed her, and that she was pushed to work alongside Dakota.
Dakota wanted more from his life, and that itself is admirable. He came from a close-knit community where his bloodlines was important. They were comfortable, but not rich, and all he wanted to do was to succeed. He lived frugally and tried to invest wisely into real estate. Now if he can only swallow a bit of his pride, everything would work out just fine.
Their relationship wasn’t an easy HEA. It was a long journey. Up to a point where you’ll say that only fate will know if they will be together in the end. They had their misunderstanding and their share of separation, but it the end, it was fate that brought them back together, and it was just amazing. When you are meant to be, you are really meant to be.
I enjoyed reading the story. I devoured it in one sitting, didn’t have the heart to put it down. TINSEL, like it’s predecessors, is stunning and compelling with characters you’d surely adore and root for.
A filthy rich princess and a hardworking bartender forced to work together in a small town. SIGN ME UP!
I’m a hardcore fan of Davney Perry’s books and every single one she releases I love. With Tinsel was no different! The story is amazing!
Dakota is a simple man with big dreams. He’s working hard to achieve his goals, going against what his family had planned for him his whole life.
Sofia is lost after a reality check. She’s in Lark Cove to lick her wounds, and, apparently, to work her way to a better person.
Her babysitter? Oh, that’ll be Dakota. He’s not happy about it, but Sofia is too beautiful and sweet to just ignore.
Just trust me and read it!
GAH! I love the Lark Cove Series! These books are never quite what you expect in all the best ways!
Sophia Kendrick is the kind of girl I love to hate in books. When we were introduced to her in the first book, Tattered, she really irritated me. I’m so happy we got to see all of her in this story. There is so much more to her than what you see on the surface.
At first, Dakota feels the same way about Sophia as I did. But he also sees this girl, who needs help. She needs to find a purpose in life and he feels drawn to help her. They quickly bond as they work together in Thea’s bar.
These two quickly realize that they can’t ignore their chemistry forever and decide to have a no-strings attached relationship. However, that doesn’t last long as their feelings for each other quickly deepen.
I loved every minute of watching Dakota and Sophia’s characters grow and develop throughout this story. Things are not easy for them and they work together to grow into the people they are meant to be. They are truly each other’s better half and their journey to a happily ever after was perfect.
This series holds a special place in my heart and I am so sad to say goodbye. The families, friendships, and bonds in these love stories are what we all want in life.
5 Breathtaking, Amazing Beautiful Stars!!
Dakota and Sofia were absolutely amazing characters that I have to admit wasn’t 100% sure about at first. You meet Sofia in a previous book and just get a spoiled brat kind of vibe. She’s a Kendrick, comes from unfathomable wealth and privilege and has the attitude of a spoiled rich kid. BUT she is soooooooooo much more! So much more. I felt every emotional turn she had and totally wanted to just hug her. And I totally fell in love with Dakota. His family not so much, except Xavier. These two fell hard, loved harder and totally made me weepy. I could not get enough! I hope we get more from the gang in Lark Cove in the future!
Pride.
A small word, only 5 characters, but one that carries so much power.
Pride can be positive. Something that can propel a person forward. Help forge someone’s personality and drive to make themselves better. Be better.
And just as equally hold someone back. Keep someone from bettering themselves because they shouldn’t want to be better if that comes with accepting help or giving someone the power to hurt or betray.
Acceptance. Forgiveness. More powerful words. With meanings and actions that can determine how someone will face the future. Accepting one’s own hopes, wants, needs and how they mesh with someone else’s—be it a lover, a friend or a family member. And forgiving those who are unwilling or unable to accept that you are your own person, and that your decisions are your own to make.
Where am I going with this? Well, pride, acceptance and forgiveness are woven throughout the story of Sofia and Dakota’s romance.
Sofia’s lived a life of a rich socialite—never worked a day and when confronted with the cold, harsh reality of her life, she finally realizes that she needs to find her way. Find her own self, her passion in order to truly find happiness.
Dakota is a proud man. His family is Native American and their strict, focused beliefs have forced him to choose between a life he wants to live and obligation to his family and heritage. He’s worked hard to make something for himself—to build a life, but will his family ever be as proud of him as he is for himself? And will his pride get in the way of his future?
And this is where acceptance and forgiveness come into play. Sofia and Dakota need to forgive themselves for wanting a better life. For loving the wrong people. For leaving or staying home, a job, a relationship. For wanting more and for not settling. For being who they are.
For Sofia and Dakota to have a future, they’re going to need to accept things that they cannot change about themselves, their lives and each other. Like past loves, family history and wealth. They both need to grow up, mature and truly figure out what they really want in life and if they’re happier together forging that future or if they’ll let each other go.
I absolutely loved the romance that developed between Sofia and Dakota. Loved what seemed like a fast burning, smokin’ hot love that would snuff out quickly but really turned into a slow burning, intense heat that could not be put out, no matter how hard time and distance tried. Their relationship was passionate. Emotional. Loving. Fun. Sexy. Smart. Respectful. And wholly satisfying. I loved Tinsel from start to finish and it was the perfect ending to this fantastic Lark Cove series.
Is it weird that I always forget how amazing an author is until I dive back into one of their stories? Tinsel is seriously unputdownable… I read strait through one morning and didn’t even shower until lunch time. Devney Perry’s writing captures me… it holds me prisoner from start to finish. Every time I read a Lark Cove book… I think this is it! This is the BEST one she’s written. I really feel that way about Tinsel. I will mention that I really wanted Audrey’s story but I’m so happy I got a sneak peek into it… if you’re feeling the same way be sure to click that little link and request that extra epilogue.
Dakota is the sweetest and kindest man. The way he quickly cares for Sofia is adorable. You can’t help but be drawn in by this man. And Sofia, sweet and naive Sofia. I’m more inclined to hold her family accountable for the way she is than herself. She’s really lacking that belief in herself. I felt for her… I think we all struggle with some self doubt and we all struggle to find our path. Dakota is very similar, while he is full of confidence. He is lacking in that he should be able to follow his own path.
I really like how Devney Perry gives us some normal every day struggles and adds her own spin to them. There’s always a deeper level in her stories than what meets the eye. Tinsel filled my heart with hope and happiness. Miss Perry’s writing is captivating and her storytelling is completely hypnotic. I’m really sad this series is over.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review. Sofia and Dakota were perfect for each other. He made her believe she was more than people saw her as. More than just tinsel. Absolutely adored this book
WOW!!!!!!!! Amazing how the Devney Perry was able to totally redeem Sofia from Tattered!!!!! Beautifully written that not only draws the reader into the world of Lark Cove and New York but also imparts life lessons that we can all learn and use. An epic story of having “your person” and a fantastic ending to a great series. Well done!
I feel like my mind inhales everything Devney writes and Tinsel was no exception. I loved the book, perfect ending to the series. Dakota and Sophia’s story was very angtsy but funny too so you fall in love with them.
Buy this book so you won’t be sad!!
Can’t wait for the next series
WOAH! What can I say? Devney Perry out did herself with this book. Her writing gets stronger and stronger every book, and I love the stories and their characters just as much. This was a story I wasnt sure could be redeemed after the way Sofia was in the other books, but man was I wrong with that!
This story was a story of learning, living, breaking down, loving, family, and picking ones self up again. I loved the story of Sofia and Dakota. It was raw, it was real, it felt real and the timeline was not fake or misleading. This was a great story that brought all different aspects into it that you werent expecting.
Loved every moment of this book and was sad to see if end, but loved the epilogue, and then the 2nd epilogue! 🙂
Tinsel was a great book to end an amazing series. We know Sofia from some of the other Lark Cove Series books–she is a Kendrick–which means she has money, and is used to being treated like a princess. After a couple of bad relationships and some publicity that makes her look even worse than most people already thought she was, she runs to Montana (to her brother’s home) to escape some of the drama. Little does she know that she’s about to run into Dakota Magee(a bartender in her brother/sister in law’s) bar. He’s asked to “help/babysit” her, and in a way, she thinks her sister in law does it to try to teach her a life lesson. She learns a lot more than how to work in a bar. HOLY SMOKES…those two have some HOT chemistry.
Dakota is struggling with some family issues that go back several years. He is torn about what HE wants and what is expected of him–especially when his annoying helper in the bar isn’t so annoying anymore.
I LOVED the easy way these characters connected. I loved their banter and the way Dakota becomes Sofia’s biggest fan. She’s never been applauded for much but he teaches her self worth. They both teach each other about love, loss and forgiveness!!!
I’m so sorry to see this series end but I know we have lots more to come from Devney Perry. I highly recommend that the series be read in order so you can meet the other characters but it could totally be a standalone as well. Well done Devney…and thank you for your awesome words!!
Tinsel is the fourth book in the Lark Cove series by the fabulous and talented Devney Perry. I have read all the books in the series except the first, so I have to mention that I did not have the pleasure of meeting Sofia before this. I do hear that she wasn’t the greatest, supportive sister, so I didn’t know that going in, BUT, I loved Sofia in this story. She’s heartbroken and embarrassed and just needs some time away. She finally realizes how people see her and she knows that’s not who she is. She just needs to realize she’s more than a pretty face and a famous name. Maybe some time working in a bar in Montana is just what she needs. Or, maybe it’s the sexy Dakota, the cranky man she’s forced to work with while she’s in town. I knew there was something special behind Dakota’s haunted, dark eyes and his reluctance to smile. Dakota and Sofia have instant chemistry and they both don’t mince words. They say what they are feeling and thinking and I loved that about them. Sofia brings out the dazzling smile he’s been hiding and Dakota let’s Sofia be the real her. Telling her she’s more than she gives herself credit for. They come from different worlds. But they want this time together. After that, they will just walk away. But what happens when feelings get involved. Will Dakota just let Sofia walk out of his life forever? I loved this story! Dakota is sexy, strong, who’s battling internal demons. He didn’t expect to fall for Sofia but she just got under his skin. Sofia was surprisingly strong, determined and a hard worker. She wants to do something with her life and she refuses to fail! Dakota’s smile got me. Every time. Overall, I laughed, cried, smiled, swooned, got hot and bothered, cried some more and had such empathy for these characters. Devney is quickly becoming one of my favorite and go to authors! Her writing is fantastic and her characters are always fun and real and her stories addicting!
This the fourth book in the Lark Cove Series, each one of them is a pleasure to read. Ms. Perry combines romance, family and real life stories to make her books impossible to put down.
Sofia Kendrick, Logan’s youngest sister, is a princess. Sofia was born of privilege, but felt like she went essentially unnoticed by her family….until she got in trouble. She has been married and divorced twice, never had a real job, and is devastated by a smear article in a magazine she thought was going to love her. She couldn’t stay in N.Y. so heads to Logan and Thea’s place in Montana, to escape the tabloids and humiliation.
Dakota Magee is a Native American bartender at Thea’s bar. Thea has surprised them all by taking Logan to Paris on an unplanned holiday, and left Sophia to help Dakota. Help he doesn’t want or need. After a very rough start, he has taught her how to make drinks, cook and realize she has a purpose. He also realizes he is extremely attracted to her, and she feels the same. The reality of the situation is such that Dakota’s family will never accept her. Raised on a reservation, they have never forgiven his leaving. He has issues with the fact she has lots of money, and doesn’t see how they can fit. Sophia totally disagrees, but it’s a hard road to compromise. But the “Happily Ever After” is worth the fight.
I read this story in a day. It is hot, funny at times and faces real issues of our time. I highly recommend this very engaging book.
Pat Fordyce
Even though this is one of my favorite authors, I really wasn’t that pumped up for Sofia’s book. With meeting her previously I honestly didn’t like her, she was a stuck up rich person that I wanted to strangle. But after reading Tinsel, I am totally in love with her character. Yes, she rich and maybe a little spoiled but she has a huge heart and she has fears just like the test of us. She’s really a beautiful person who really turned out to be a awesome character. Her and Dakota are perfect together, both having their own issues and I loved reading how they cane together and helped each other heal.
I’ve loved every one of the books in the series and it just keeps getting better and better.

This book left me speechless and wanting more. I can honestly say it is my favorite out of the series. We finally get to see the real Sofia Kendrick and I fell in love with her. Rich princess meets a rugged man from a world she has no idea about but they come together so seamlessly.
I loved everything about this story. The angst, love, loss, and finding your true self are just some of the things that happen in this book. The writing is so flawless and the characters are so complex but at the same time they are profoundly beautiful. 5 Stars for Tinsel!
Five stars aren’t nearly enough for the amazing journey this book takes you on. Devney Perry continues to amaze me with her story telling. Just when I think her stories are perfect and I have found my favorite, she blows me away with a new offering. Tinsel is the book that has set the standard for a beautiful yet heart aching and tear inducing story. The tears were both gut wrenching and insanely happy ones as I read (and couldn’t put down) the last story in in the Lark Cove series.
We have met Dakota and Sofia in the previous Lark Cove books. We don’t know a lot about Dakota at the beginning of this book. And if you have read the previous books, your feelings about Sofia are….shall we say, not the best.
Well get ready for all of this to change. Because Devney Perry has worked her literary magic and made a society princess’s slightly tarnished tiara shine. And she has made a closed off man who is trying to find a balance in two conflicting worlds open up to the possibility of finding his peace and purpose.
When Sofia Kendrick has had enough of people portraying her as a spoiled brat she escapes to Montana to sort her life out. When she gets there a plan is put in place to help Sofia find herself. And Dakota Magee is left as the one to help her, much to his discomfort and dismay.
These two are so different and yet so alike. There’s a definite spark between them and yes they eventually act on it. But it’s only be for the time Sofia is in town and then they will go their separate ways. Because how can a socialite and a conflicted man who left his family back on their reservation ever have a life together? It’s impossible. Right?
Through many many ups and downs. A ton of heartache (its seriously tear inducing, rip your heart out at times) and even more heart healing goodness they will find a way. Because in the end love always shines through.
6 Stars
My first ever *6* star read!!! These eight words I felt all the way to my soul.
“Be bold. Find your magic. Chase the impossible.”
As an avid reader and a blogger, you get to read some amazing books. Hundreds of books that you fall in love with. But every once in awhile you come across a story that goes straight your heart. Tinsel by Devney Perry was that story for me. It is the fourth and final book in the Lark Cove series. It can be read as a stand-alone but I highly recommend reading the other books in the series as well. Tinsel was beautifully written, emotional, and overall just incredible. Ms. Perry has such a way with words that you can’t help but fall in love with them.
If you have read the prior books in the series, then you’ve met Sofia Kendrick. Spoiled, selfish, and the ‘princess’ of the family. I wasn’t sure I was going to like her. I didn’t even know if I’d be able to connect with her but I did and that truly surprised me. As the story progresses you are able to see her growth and see all the way inside to her very core. Sofia is running to Montana, away from an unfortunate incident that happened. Thinking she’d be able to lick her wounds out of the spotlight, she has no idea what’s in store for her. Or should I say who…
Dakota Magee…this hero was EVERYTHING! Strong, handsome, honest. I could go on and on. He to had issues that he needed to work on but that’s what made him such a great character. When he meets Sofia he sees what everyone else does-spoiled poor little rich girl who has no idea what life’s really about. But as he gets to know her, and pulls back layer by layer, he realizes how wrong he was. Problem is-it may be too late.
Words cannot adequately express how much I loved this story! It was so much more than what I was expecting. But what made it so special is that Ms. Perry was able to take a character that wasn’t well liked and turn it all around and make you see the person beneath the facade. There were many ups and downs but it really worked for the story. I highly, highly recommend reading it!
