After a scathing article turns Sofia’s world upside down she flees to her brothers house in Monatana to lick her wounds and try to heal. Maybe figure out some things whilst she’s at it. What she did not expect was a job at her sister in laws bar and the breathtaking Dakota. She should not want him. Her track record with men is a train wreck. But there is something there she can’t ignore. He feels it too. The enigmatic, handsome and kind Dakota, broody and lonesome sees something in her that makes her heart race. Their chemistry is off the charts, but their lives could not be more different. Will ten days together ever be enough? Will they be able to walk away at the end and move on? You will love their story just as much as the rest of the Lark Cove stories! Their story is unique and beautiful, it’s about healing and finding yourself, letting go of the past and moving forward, together. I loved every minute of it and cannot possibly give it enough stars to do it justice!
Sofia, I really wanted to not like her. She was so . . . fake? I don’t know. BUT, was she really? We learn more about her as she learns more about herself. Dakota, what a tortured soul. I fell in love with both of these characters pretty quickly. We learn more about Xavier, the tribe, and what brought him to Lark Cove. Pretty intense stuff in this one!
A stunning love story that had me captivated from the very first page. It is powerful, inspiring, emotionally raw, intense, and breathtakingly romantic. Perry delivers a story with so much heart and soul that is bleeds from the pages. The characters and storyline are well-written and relatable. Dakota is a complex man who is incredibly sexy, loyal, and fiercely protective. Sophia is genuine, generous, and resilient. The chemistry between them is undeniable and electric. From the moment they meet they are inexplicably drawn to one another; bound by something stronger than they understand. They share an intense connection on a soul-deep level that can’t be ignored no matter how hard they try to resist. The heart wants what it wants. I fell in love with these characters and storyline. I adored the small town feel of the story too. Watching them fall in love was absolutely breathtaking. How they fight for one another is powerfully moving. I could feel every emotion they experienced. Some scenes just stole my breath while others shattered my heart. So much wisdom interlaced throughout this incredible story. I absolutely loved every second of this book and wished it didn’t have to end! I highly recommend reading this book!!
Wow, this story blew me away.
I wasn’t sure Sofia and Dakota would actual be the happily ever after in this book. It made me nervous and I cried a lot through them trying to figure out how to make it work. But with any Devney Perry book, it all worked out in the end. This was a 10 star read and the perfect way to close out this beloved series!
Sadly, this stand-alone series has reached an end with Tinsel, but what a marvellous send off! Once again, we’re transported back to the small town of Lark Cove, Montana, a picture-book journey with all its enchantment. The cameo appearances of characters we’d learnt to love, appear just when the story demands never hindering the reader’s enjoyment.
If you’ve read Tattered, you’ll be familiar with Sophia, Logan Kendrick’s sister. Can’t say I liked this lass much then but wait, her demeanour is deceiving. I think the word ‘spoilt’ is a tad inappropriate for her, misled fitting her better. How many of us went through the princess phrase when we were young? I certainly did! It shouldn’t last long, it’s forgotten and life takes its course. Sophia didn’t seem to me to break out of her cocoon because on her mother and father’s part, I felt a lack of encouragement to do so. I even agreed with one of her siblings who thought she was capricious and wrapped up in herself.
‘Seriously? Could you at least try not to embarrass us?’
Feeling down and out for reasons I couldn’t possibly divulge, off she goes to Lark Cove to lick her wounds. Now then, I have to give kudos to her sister-in-law. All said and done, if it weren’t for Thea’s craftiness and faith in Sophia, there wouldn’t have been a story! Would her surrogate boss be as sure as Thea? He’s in for a surprise; there’s nothing shallow about our heroine considering she’s about to have a wake-up call and believe you me, watching her spread her wings was a joy in itself.
“If you are trying to teach her some kind of lesson, let’s not put your business at risk. She’ll flake out.”
I can’t put into words how much I liked the rich gal meeting up with a proud working-class American Indian, who I’d already had the pleasure of meeting. Seeing as Dakota Magee respects his family, it would be a tad harsh to say his role in a traditionally tight-knit community was wrong. His story was without a doubt an eye-opener for me, and I could clearly see that Perry had done her homework. He’d had the courage to break free with the help of a relative, his plans for the future and what life had to offer him made me embrace his enthusiasm! He’s drool-worthy too, so hang on to your panties ladies ‘cause this guy is hotter than hot!
‘His moral fiber ran so deep it was ingrained in his very being. With him, there were no games. No tricks. No ulterior motives.’
Not surprisingly, inner conflicts arise. I could see why Dakota wanted to make it on his own; his thoughts keeping me intrigued created quite a bit of angst too. How he would cope with family pressure, and his concern for an outsider being accepted in a culture which has steadfast traditions, caused him to reconsider his place in society. So, would he listen to his heart or to return to his roots? Hmm…there was quite a twist in the story here, making me hold my breath.
‘I admire my culture, my family tradition. But I wanted more. I wanted my freedom.’
Sizzling chemistry between the protagonists leaps off the pages and true to Perry’s style, the steaminess is tastefully written. Although Sophia bewilders and astonishes Dakota at every turn, certain issues contribute to unrest. Is he interested in her healthy bank account? Can she trust him? Seeing as their situation is a complicated one, plenty of hurdles have to be resolved if they’re going to have a chance at happiness. But what I like more than anything was how Dakota brought out the best in her which up until their sensitive relationship began, had been well-hidden.
“Her money was still an issue for me. Her heritage.”
The author’s heartwarming romance not only ticked all the right boxes but more important, stirred all my emotions. For me, the narrative in past tense from a dual point of view was perfectly balanced, giving the reader every opportunity to really get to know how Dakota and Sophia felt. If you’re looking for a read which gives an overwhelming feeling of love, this one is for you. Bravo Perry!
“I’m never going to be able to provide you the life you’re used to.”
3,5 Stars
It took me quite awhile to finish this book. On the one hand I was desperate to love it like I love the other books in this series. I didn’t want it to disappoint. And on the other hand I just didn’t want the series to end so I kept postponing reading further.
At first I wasn’t sure if I liked Tinsel. I’m not a big fan of relationships starting based on lust. I like it better when they first build up some kind of friendship before they end up in bed together. That been said I was pleasantly surprised how the story progressed from there on. The relationship between Sofia and Dakota felt genuine.
I’m a bit sad that this is the end of the Lark Cove series, but am also very pleased with the ending it got.
Devney Perry, Lady This Book Got me through a very very Tough week. I want you to know that this Story was so Brilliantly Written. It was intriguing, emotional and thought inspiring. Inspiring because we always judge a book by its cover, yet we know looks can be deceiving. You show that even when you have money it doesn’t mean you are happy…
The Prologue Fucking had me take a deep breath, I knew just by that Prologue that this was going to be an amazing book and you as Writer was taking me on a Phenomenal Journey.
I have to be honest that Sofia wasn’t my Favourite Girl but, a very BIG BUT you worked your magic and for me this was your best Heroine in this series.
She is such a beautiful, misunderstood girl. She looks for love and acceptance in the wrong places, ppl use her because they see her Yearning and thats what I identify with. My daughter is so similar. So I understood Sofia’s Loneliness and her need to be accepted as well as recognisedit. I wanted to defend her and hug her like I do with my girl but you showed me that with my support and her knowing her family loves her she will Fly High one day.
Dakota is so perfect yet I still wanted to gut punch him many times. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE him.
At times I understood him and the pressure he felt by his parents and family. He also worked hard to show his family he could make it outside from the world they were imposing on him.
This story is beautiful and breathtaking. Its heartbreaking and will have you wanting to turn the page as fast as you can. The side characters we dont get much of but Xavir was an amazing Uncle and sometimes a better dad than Dakotas dad was. I’m glad he helped him and gave him excellent advice.
Dakota and Sofia together will set your panties on fire. Their chemistry is palpable and real. Their sexy time was of the charts.
Im so damn ecstatic that they got a HEA… I’m thrilled that Devney took a character I had no Interest in and made her the Heroine of this book, this book that was undoubtedly one of the best books written ever.
Enjoy thes Wondrous Read Ladies and Im sure we all are heartbroken this series has come to an end….
I loved this story. It drove me crazy, made me cry, and pissed me off but I couldn’t put it down. I haven’t been disappointed by Devney Perry yet.
Buy the series. You will not be sorry
I´ve just finished this book last week. And loved how two different worlds can collide (in the good way, of course!) just because of love. I could feel the struggle Dakota was and the reassurance Sofia was looking for.
This book and these characters stole my heart, an absolutely beautiful story of finding your passion and living the life you deserve, even with family expectations holding you back. When someone tells you to find your passion, it is such an easy statement to make to someone who is lost but not an easy thing to execute when no one believes you are anything but a shallow, spoiled princess. I loved the transformation of Sophia throughout the book and the unwavering support she received from Dakota. Sometimes you find your person in the most unlikely of places and they turn out to be the catalyst that changes your life for the better.
There is something so compelling reading about a character like Sophia Kendrick, one who is shamed in such a public way, showcasing her high maintenance, surface level existence and being able to feel compassion for her when she doesn’t even know how to use a broom! The fact that she was so humble and willing to put in a hard days work to prove she was worth more than her trust fund showed from the very beginning that she was not just a princess but a woman driven to find her purpose.
Dakota Magee is a man stifled by the need to prove to his traditional Native American family that his life outside the reservation is not an embarrassment to their legacy. He bears a heavy burden that he will never make his family proud and he works himself to the bone to make that happen. What he never expects is to meet a woman that would change his life and his plans for the future in one fell swoop.
From the moment Sophia meets Dakota, she is smitten, but she has always relied on a man to fulfill part of her life and she wants to be able to stand on her own without a man for once. But the thing is, Dakota is not like most men, he doesn’t care about her money and does everything in his power to make sure she sees how amazing she is for herself. I loved the chemistry and uplifting dynamic of their relationship – showcasing what a healthy, loving and open relationship should be. 5 Stars for me!
Scandal…..it’s the driving force in Sophia Kendrick’s life. Even if the intent wasn’t to cause drama, the trickledown effect always ends up revealing another cause for tabloid fodder. The latest unveiling came after an interview sheds Sofia’s life in a not so flattering way. A sensational scandal that once again pulled Sophia’s family into the spotlight right along with the Princess of New York. With ridicule oozing from the article, Sophia decides to seek solitude in the one place she can escape judgment.
Heading to Lark Cove, Montana seems like the perfect solution to escape the judgment from the article that haunts Sophia. After all – Logan and Thea have always shown Sophia nothing but kindness. What Sophia didn’t realize is Thea was devising a plan of her own; a way to instill a little bit of confidence inside the girl that only wanted to please those around her. Determined to show Sophia that she ‘matters’, Thea hatches a plan that will leave the unemployed heiress responsible for the bar that Thea holds near and dear to her heart.
In spite of never working a day in her life, Sophie tackles the job of looking after Thea’s bar with determination. One of the people that is guiding Sophia through this ordeal is Dakota. Even though his temper flares at time, Dakota tries to show Sophia the ins and outs of running the bar. What neither counted on was the instant attraction that they would feel. What harm could come to giving in to their desires if both knew for certain that nothing could come of their time together? As Sophia and Dakota will quickly learn, you can’t always control your heart.
Tinsel is the latest book in the Lark Cove series by Devney Perry. It follows the youngest sibling to Logan Kendrick, and the most spoiled Kendrick of the bunch. With two divorces under her belt, a poor attitude at times, and a string of bad choices – Sophia isn’t exactly the picture perfect idea of a character that knows how to make commitments. Dakota adds his own drama to the mix as a son that doesn’t want to live his life dictated by tradition. Both are swimming in a sea of uncertainty, and seem to be drawn deeply to the other.
A string of uncertainty will lead these two broken souls on a journey that will take them across the states to uncover what it is that drives their hearts. The reality of just how difficult each of the milestones the other reaches will transpire across the pages in a way that leaves you longing a perfect love. Dakota and Sophia know that their lives are just too different to make a relationship work. Just don’t tell that to their heart, which is breaking further by the day.
Devney Perry always writes about the most amazing characters. Every time she pens about love, it is with the realization that no love story is perfect. The journey to finding ‘the one’ is what it is all about!! I think Sophia was the most unexpected character out of the entire series, and her story is one that you don’t want to miss!! Make sure you dive into the latest journey to Lark Cove…..you can thank me later!!
This has been one of my favorite series over the last year. It just kept getting better with each book. I loved Tinsel. I knew the book was going to be good when I felt empathy and love for Sophia right from the start, when we only knew her as the spoiled rich girl. And Dakota, what can I say about him? He’s my favorite H of the series. Their story and the valid struggles they had to overcome and CHOOSE to overcome to be together made this book great for me. You could read this book as a standalone but I highly recommend the whole 4 book series. They have great characters and are emotional and I love the setting as well. . I’m sad to see it end, but I’m now a definite Devney Perry fan and will be reading everything else she gives us!
Sofia did an interview for a magazine and was excited for her family to finally be proud of her. After seeing the article she is humiliated and embarrassed. Time for a trip to visit Logan in Montana. Dakota is a bartender for Thea and Jackson. When he gets stuck babysitting Sofia while she is visiting he quickly realizes that a Princess doesn’t make for good bar help.
I wasn’t sure what I would think of this book since I really HATED Sofia in book 1. I could totally see why the reporter wrote what she did. Fell in love with Dakota and his sexy, broody personality. The author wrote a perfect character in Dakota to bring out the real Sofia. What a nice change that the wealthy family was accepting of the working guy. Tinsel is another great addition to the Lark Cove Series.
Loved this book as I did the first two in this series. Great page turner and holds you until the last page.
First I have to say this is such a beautiful cover, and looks so lovely with the other 3 books in this series.
Sophia Kendrick is the princess of the family, always looking for love and acceptance. She goes to Montana to regroup with her brother and family. She meets Dakota and spends a week with him working at a bar. Sophia changes a lot in a week and learns so much about everything.
This is an amazing beautiful story I hate for the series to end- The Epilogue was incredible.
Another phenomenal read from Devney Perry!!
If you know me, you know that I am one of Devney’s biggest fans! I have read everything she has written, and absolutely devoured all of them. Tinsel is certainly no exception. In fact, this may even be my favourite book in the series.
Dakota and Sofia are two characters you will absolutely fall in love with. Their relationship was sexy and sweet all at the same time. They epitomize what I love about reading romance novels. They are able to communicate both verbally, as well as through their emotions. They know what the other is experiencing, and how to attempt to help them through it.
I urge everyone to pick up Tinsel for themselves. This book has instantly been added to my paperback Wishlist to add to my Devney collection.
5/5 Stars!
Oh Sofia.
This girl just got to me. In the beginning of the story, she comes across like a superficial, ditzy rich girl. But boy, does she have some spunk and perseverance. It didn’t take long for me to be on her side and rooting for her to succeed. Honestly, I adored the fact that she had zero experience in the normal tasks that non-rich people have to do for themselves. And watching her learn how to do these things had me in stitches. The chemistry between Sofia and Dakota oozes of the pages. He picks up on her insecurities and tries to pump her up. They were really good together. And that’s just the first part of the story. Watching Sofia figure out what she wants out of life after her “vacation” in Montana is over was like watching flowers come out to bloom. I was completely captivated throughout the entire book.
A wonderful book, a wonderful series, wonderful story telling by Devney Perry.
Dakota and Sofia- 2 broken people who find a way in life together. It wasn’t rushed, it was real. Sofia goes to Lark Cove after being broken related to the reality of her life and the perception of those around her including her family. Dakota has done what has been best for himself but has broken family relationships-as well.
This book is a beautiful story of how 2 people connect and support each other even when they aren’t together. They make decisions for themselves but find a way back together.
I loved this series, these stories and the ending was perfection to bring Lark Cove to a close. It’s a place we will all miss!
