A new romantic comedy about love, letting go, and little green men from USA Today Bestselling author Daisy Prescott. My father was abducted by aliens.Or so I believed for the last eighteen years. After my mother’s death, I moved to Roswell, capital of all things alien. I’m going to find out the truth and nothing will stop me . . . except Boone Santos.Compared to the intergalactic tinfoil hat … intergalactic tinfoil hat brigade, he’s a god amongst mere mortals. Too handsome for his own good (and mine), with a grumpy arrogance, and the most beautiful smile ever—he smashes my plan to pieces like a UFO crashing into the desert.
I need a tinfoil hat for my heart.
Do I believe in aliens? I’m not sure.
What do I believe? I’m not going to fall in love with Boone. Definitely not . . .

I love this story. It’s so adorable and light hearted. The story and the characters kept me enchanted. I couldn’t put it down. This is one I will definitely re read a lot!
I freaking LOVE this book!! Daisy Prescott has quickly become one of my favorite authors thanks to her unique plots, unforgettable characters, and witty delivery. Her books are rom com gold and I immediately one click.
Tinfoil Heart is no different. I loved everything about this book. All of the characters, not just Lucy and Boone, are brilliantly written.
Lucy is smart and snappy but underneath that sass is a sad soul looking for answers to her past. And her quest has brought her to Roswell, home of alien enthusiasts.
After moving to Roswell, she meets Boone, lover of pecan pancakes and sand sledder extraordinaire. Holy freaking swoon!! I fell HARD for Boone! He ranks up there as one of my all-time favorite book boyfriends. Boone is sweet, smart, and sexy as hell!!
As Lucy searches for the answers to her past, she’s met with more conspiracy theories leaving her with more questions than answers. But sometimes, what we’re looking for and what we need are two different things.
Tinfoil Heart is an emotional journey full of love, hope, friendship, self discovery and letting go.
Now, my rating on this is a depends rating. You see, the author gave us two different endings. Based on the synopsis below, you might think this is a bit of a science fiction/alien visitor type of story. And you might be right. Depending on which ending you choose to go with. Me, I loved the Believer ending, which would make it 5 stars for me. But if she had just gone with the Skeptic ending, well, then it would have been only 4 stars. So I compromised with the 4.5 stars finally. From the minute I picked this one up though, I was hooked. I wish I’d gone ahead and read it last summer right after I bought it at Book Bonanza, so that I could have stayed up all night reading it on a summer night with no school the next morning. Instead, I waited, and there you go. Loved the humor, the story, the angst, the setting of the story, all of it. There was even one line that just kept me laughing out loud for quite a while after, even as I continued reading: “The unicorn of orgasms”.
Lucy grew up thinking her father had been abducted by aliens. It wasn’t just a story to cover up the fact her father was a runaway dad they really believed it. When Lucy’s mother passes away from cancer, Lucy decides to head out to New Mexico where her parents met to look into those alien abduction theories. Working as a waitress at a small diner in Roswell, Lucy meets Boone Santos. After months of only quiet eating one day he decides to break his silence and ask her out on a date. As he shows her different local aspects of Roswell Lucy is torn between finding out the truth about her father and falling in love with Boone. For some reason she thinks she can’t do both.
I wanted to read this novel because a romance novel in a Roswell setting was truly unique and this story really was one of a kind. The romance at the beginning led me to believe this was going to be a lighthearted love story, but really it was a story about a young woman who was determined to find her roots. Her father’s abandonment of she and her mother made Lucy shy away from commitment. When Boone’s interest turns serious Lucy has to make that decision of whether she wants to continue finding out what happened to her father or stay in Roswell and root herself.
This novel was quirky, fun and emotional taking the reader on their own journey right along with Lucy. She was a bit of a nut so that journey strayed down a few strange paths but I like her character a lot so I was happy meandering along after her. Boone was that good looking hunky hero that you expect to see in a romance but he had some hidden depths that were revealed a bit at a time. This story had quite a few surprises, the biggest being an alternate ending choice for those of us who are more adventurous in our decisions. Tinfoil Heart was my first novel by Daisy Prescott. It’s depth was a pleasant surprise and the feelings these characters generated will resonate for quite a few days.
I was given an ARC of this book for my honest review and it was honest!
A unique story with a bit of a surprise at the end. I was leaning towards 3 stars as I was reading this. Sometimes I felt a bit lost about what was going on, especially when Lucy cut out Boone. But I really liked the whole “decide for yourself” epilogue. I’m a believer!
This was such a sweet love story. I enjoyed it and what the author gave us at the end was very original. I definitely recommend this author, and this book.
Lucy is a needy and closed girl who lost her father when she was nine and saw her mother not recover from this loss or disappearance or whatever. After her grands and mother dies, she no longer sees the meaning of living where she lives and follows her mother’s supposed instructions to Go West.
She ends up stopping at Roswell, a small town that became famous for the supposed fall of an alleged UFO and which for her may be the key to understanding what happened to her father.
There she makes friends like funny Wanda and gets a job as a waitress in Tony’s diner where she finds types ranging around : guys working at the city oil company, tourists looking for Ets and the mysterious and silent Boone.
Boone is a pretty serious guy who sees his life change as he approaches Lucy and she ends up putting it in her head that he is a distraction to her plans.
Narrated in the first person by Lucy, I followed her journey of maturity and discovery along with her friends Wanda, Jim and Shari and their beautiful love story with Boone. And what story! OMG! Loaded with sensuality and electrifying sparks.
This is the first book I read of Daisy Prescott and I loved the way she built the plot in a crescent with greats mystery and assumptions. At first, I was afraid because I found everything very slow, but gradually I understood what the writer’s idea was and involved me with this funny story.
Highlight for me all was to arrive in the last chapters and realize that even the cycle closing and Lucy discovering what really was important for her life, many tips were still loose, tips that were perfectly trimmed in both epilogues, one for the skeptics and one for the believers. Daisy Prescott’s gift to please Greeks and Trojans….LOL… I discovered that I am truely skeptic and I loved this epilogue.
I loved the cover too with this funny air full of references from the plot elements.
4/5 stars
A funny, quirky, touching story that had me wondering to the end.
Between being brand new to this author and the blurb, I didn’t know quite what to expect from this book, and boy did she keep me guessing! The author did a great job of setting up the story with a bunch of questions, mysteries both large and small, and keeping me balanced on the knife’s edge of “which way IS this story going to go?” Because I have a vivid imagination, and I’ve read as much fantasy and science fiction as the next geeky nerd-girl, lol.
Besides enough mystery/suspense to keep me interested, there were a lot of laughs along with a few tears, and Lucy and Boone were great characters; I loved Lucy’s quirkiness and the mysteries that slowly get unraveled around Boone. Their relationship had a nice balance of sweet and flirty to go along with all the electricity, and I enjoyed watching it evolve. There were some great secondary characters as well; the New Mexico setting was almost a character of its own and I loved that with Boone taking Lucy to some of his favorite spots, we get to go, too.
I did struggle getting into this one a little at first, but I think that was more on me and my state of mind than any fault of the book. Once I got past 15%, it flew by for me and the laughs alone more than made up for any slowness at the beginning.
The ending killed me. And that’s all I can say, you’ll just have to read it for yourself.
Filled with quirky characters, language that managed to occasionally be beautiful without being overwritten or pretentious, and a storyline that just kept me wondering, this was a book that I didn’t want to end. With this kind of writing, I can guarantee that, though this was the first book for me by this author, it isn’t going to be my last. 5+ quirky stars.

Tinfoil Heart by Daisy Prescott is hands-down the most unique books I have read EVER! I mean that in the most complimentary manner!!!! I had no idea the trip that Prescott was going to take me on, and I loved every minute of it!!!!
Lucy tries to live a normal life, but her past has dictated her less than normal path. She has a secret not many know about her. She is looking for the father that abandoned her years ago. She was given the story that her father was abducted by aliens from her mother. At first, she doesn’t believe it. However, after nearly depleting all of her savings and not finding answers, she is now working as a waitress in Roswell, NM looking for anything she may have missed. She considers herself a cynic of all things alien, but it’s much easier to believe that than just believing he left her without ever looking back.
Lucy, like the story itself, is unique. Her personality is infectious, and those that know her love her. When Boone, a mysterious and sexy customer, enters her life, I liked her even more. She has a great heart and cares about others. Deep down, that hurt little girl abandoned by her father exists so she has a hard time trusting others. When she finds herself falling for Boone, her first instinct is to run and protect him from her crazy. She is scared of his rejection when he finds out the truth about her.
I could easily see why she fell hard for Boone. That mysterious air about him makes him even sexier. He is also very funny, witty, and intelligent. I adore the relationship he has with his sister. Like Lucy, he is hiding some secrets too. I knew it would be interesting when they each discovered what the other was hiding.
I love the way Prescott writes. She pulled me completely into the story from the very first chapter. The biggest surprise was the epilogues…a genius idea. She weaved just the right information throughout the book to make each plausible. This talented writer wrote a book combining humor, romance, alien conspiracy, and a journey of self-discovery, and she did it FLAWLESSLY!!!!

The blurb grabbed my attention, but the story did suck me in!! What a great book and characters! I didn’t want the book to end! It was funny, romantic, fun! Sexy! It had everything! Do yourself a favor a read this!
